Your nation's traitor/Benedict Arnold?

Postby Third Mexican Empire » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:55 pm

In the history of your nations, has there ever been an individual deemed a traitor to your nations and its people.

In Mexican history, it would be Colonel Lopez, who turned Emperor Maximillian into the Republican forces, effectively ending the Second Mexican Empire.

Well, we don't have anyone in particular who is viewed as the "definitive traitor" in Stachland, like Benedict Arnold (who's actually something of a folk hero over here). The closest we've got is Morgan Rutherford, who was a Member of our Popular Congress before going insane, being convicted of assault and battery, and becoming the leader of a radical right-wing organization.

No one has the balls to defect, the goverment keeps close tabs on all the politicians and head officials, so if they did defect, they wouldn't get far, and the punishment for betraying the state is to be burned alive.
Vaguely a pessimist, certainly an absurdist, unironically an antinatalist.

OOC: Benedict Arnold ceased to be a traitor once he remembered his proper loyalties to King and Empire. Image

Viktor Nagant was one of the Qagan's officials who almost lead a successful counter-revolution, he's not thought of too fondly by many.

Benedict-Arnold was a hero...

It's all a matter of perspective... To the British, these men were terrorists:

You (as far as I can deduce, a blue blooded, flag waving American) might think differently...

OOC: Mexican. Benedict Arnold, from the prespective of the Americans, was the closest thing I could describe it to.

That be King Robert the First and Second. The First was a loyal friend to King Jeffery, but overthrew him and siezed power. When he was killed, his son did the same, and suffered the same fate.

OOC: He was a traitor to the Colonial cause in the eyes of the Revolutionaries, to the British, he was a defector. And it's RED-Blood, not Blue-Blood, Red-Blood is a typical rural person, Blue-Blood is a typical Aristocrat (or sophisticated city dweller these days). Anywho...

The PLK, or People's Liberation Corps, was once a unit in our army during the Revolution. It was called the 17th Light Infantry Regiment. However, its leader defected to Brazil, taking his unit with him.

OOC: If I may—Benedict Arnold was hardly even a traitor to the American revolutionaries' cause. He did more for that cause than virtually anyone. He made a single choice that has tainted his image in the States forever.

during the revolution war many people chose to side with the then rulling goverment, we term these royalists and they are still a problem to this day occasionally stiring up trouble or try to reinstall a capitlist based economic system in the country but these people are a fringe group that are largly ignored by many of the population in favour of the increased freedoms that the anarchist society provides them.

We don't consider treason to be a crime, so we don't have any traitors.

There was a fellow who sold the blueprints to the Fish-class submarine to several foreign governments but we "borrowed" the technology from abroad anyway, so no problem.

...So that's why those blueprints we bought include space for a barbecue pit! We were so curious. ( :P )

Lamington has no especially noteworthy traitors yet. We're trying to keep it that way by being a decent nation.

The informer Arran Cerizo, of the early days of the revolution, who ratted out the locations of multiple ringleaders of the first General Strike. He has up until his betrayal been a member in good standing of the auto union. He was placed in protective custody by the State, and eventually shot and killed by a militant flying squad.

The Popular Militia commander Berra Zapano, who gave up the Treno Pass in the Montaro Ruga in exchange for a high post in the fascist paramilitary gangs. She was captured by the Popular Militia later in the war and tortured to death.

Gyarika Merastoronik.

She was a mid-level military intelligence officer during the First Great Penguin War. Her husband was a soldier, and she received word from the penguins that he had been captured. They wanted a ransom, typical, only they wanted crucial military information that she had access to. She was directed via telecommunications headset to the penguin's location, but, needless to say, the penguins were bluffing the whole time. Her husband had been killed in a battle. The penguins, however, had access to a voice simulation device that had picked up sounds of him talking to a fellow soldier before he was killed. Gyarika was stabbed to death by three penguins, who looted the information off her corpse and used the whole thing as a propaganda device.

Traitor to the Glorious People's Republic? Easy is easy.

President of the People's Republic of China Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party - Mao Zedong

Before you look at us like we're crazy? The bastard tried to industralize a nation that was not ready for it. Leading to the starvation of millions property damages in the billions completely devastated the Chinese People and nation and wrecked our economy for the next thirty years while we tried to find enough food to feed everyone.

Yeah, he was a goddamn traitor and yes we're rather happy we killed that bastard in 1974 so happy in fact we shot him thirty four times.

[Take THAT hardcore Maoists.]
