Our capital city is Marseilles, before the establishment of the Kingdom of Seigleterre in 1902, it was the second largest city in France. It has seen many regime changes from the First Republic of 1931, to the current Third Republic, started in 1955.

Welcome to Novlygon!

Population: 1.5 Million

Image

Background: Although the first founding date of Novlygon is unknown, remnants of the early Anglynovans can be traced back up to 4,000 years in the area. This is the oldest date documenting the early Anglynovans. Novlygon grew into a trade town because of its strategic place as a port city in the south, able to trade with other islands and the northern part of the island as migrators went north. The city began to develop more rapidly when foreign powers began to colonize in Anglynova. Foreign powers became great, and soon Anglynovans were organized into the Anglynovan Peoples Republic. It was just five years ago that the Revolution ended, bringing an era of freedom and peace under the new government. The city of Novlygon now stands as a monument to liberty, freedom, and perseverance.

Image
This building is the Revnokin, the Anglynovan senate house. This is the birthplace of the Republic. 5 years ago, revolutionary forces stormed this building as loyalist forces were holed up here. This was the last section of the city that had not been liberated. When this building was captured, the flag of the dictatorship was replaced with the current flag. The Constitution was drafted here.
Image

This is the Arch of the People. It was erected using the stone of demolished buildings and the metal of an old Peoples Republic statue. It represents the will of the people to drive forward and create a precedent for liberty and self determination.

Novlygon today has a bustling economy which includes business and tourism. It is the cultural, economic, political, and spiritual center of the nation.
We hope you will visit Novlygon.

Sathon is the Capital city of the People's Republic of Nattakun.

It's located inland on the River Rama. It's central location makes it both the symbolic and very near geographic center of Nattakun.

Population: 33,100,000
City area: 29,761.50 km2
Elevation: 2 meters above sea level
Average temp. rainy season/dry season 89/75
Average age of city-dweller:22 Years old

A smaller city located away from the densely inhabited coasts of Nattakun, Sathon is known more a religious center then traditional governmental capital city. However after the native Siamese & Hmong people over-threw outside Imperialists occupying forces, they returned their capital to a city which would unify the new borders of Nattakun, and also serve a culturally symbolic purpose as well.

Spread out between the curves of an ancient river (the Rama), the city of Sathon took shape over many generations. Essentially located at an "S" shape curve in the river, opposite ends of the city developed at the two banks based on the needs and design of the people as time passed. On one end of the city one beholds the older district. Here the religious and governmental administration buildings are found. Then at the other end, following the curvature of the river, one beholds the section most recently developed. Across the span of the newer/modern area of the city, one finds primarily neighborhoods divided and developed many decades ago. The residents live on this bank of the river while life (business, administration, and government administration) occur opposite.

Image
Pictured above is a colorful ornamental pillar, crowning a temple in one of the residential neighborhoods of Sathon.

Originally a small fishing village on the Rama River, known in antiquity for a floating market, it gained notoriety amongst Siamese & Hmong people after rained fashioned a Shiva Lingam near small cave embankment on a river bend. A Shiva Lingam is a phallic shaped stone (or object) which represent the Mahadev Shiva ( Great God) of the Saivite Sect of Sanatana Dharma (or Hinduism). It is worshipped by pouring milk, water, and wood-paste on top of it. This is said to please the Lord God in which He then delights His devotees with boons.

After nature spontaneously formed this religious wonder, Sathon became a place bustling with pilgrimage. Soon temples sprouted up around the natural wonder and city size grew steadily to accommodate travelers, tourists, & pilgrims.

Image
Here is the famed stone, made from centuries of rain over a small cave opening. Here it can be seen that a priest, or Brahmin, is worshipping the stone which represents the Lord God Shiva. The stone, once recognized as a miracle, was wrapped in a precious alloy of mercury and silver, made into a cobra to guard the deity. A marble temple was erected around the stone and henceforth the general landscape surrounding was transformed.

Sathon remained a backwater, far from the concern of occupying Imperialist nations, situated primarily on the coast in order to more easily exploit Nattakun's resources through shipping ports. It was threatened several times with demolition but natural disasters & meteorological phenomenon always thwarted advancing Imperialist troops.

It was this inspiring lore which attracted the Siamese and neighboring Hmong people to crown their new nation of Nattakun with it's capital city of Sathon.

Since then, a strong central government has invested billions of Xias into the local infrastructure in order to placate religious clerics & also to generate tourist revenue.

Here is a glimpse of the elevated light rail system which was recently installed.

Image

Image

In addition, after nationalizing all the means of production, the new central government seized all airline carriers and consolidated them into a new national airline. Here is a picture of the new airport (with tourists) constructed out of the ruins of the older airport, destroyed during civil war.

Image
Western tourists at the entrance lobby to Shiv-Shankar Aero-port. Behind them is a traditional Siamese rendering of the most worshipped deity in Nattakun, Lord Sri Shiva.

In addition to densely packed medium sized office buildings containing the nationalized industry & service providers of Nattakun, most governmental buildings stand near the religious centers as a gesture of solidarity to the influential priest class. The two sectors religion/government and business/industry give Sathon a distinctive feel, divided between the 2 districts.

Image
Medium-rise buildings house offices for the major industries providing goods & services to the public sector dominated economy. They also just block view of the River Rama, which would have been visible in the background but a decade ago. Also of note is the recent elevated rail extension project, just completed.

Image
Here, the original track of the elevated rail line connected hotels and old foreign corporate offices to the other district of the city. A cloudy day obscures the rest of the city's moderate skyline.

Here is a snapshot of the People's Assembly Building. The national unicameral legislature of the People's Republic of Nattakun . Again, the elected representatives of an infant government placated the priestly class by constructing a capital building to standards of ancient scriptural references. Although generally socialistic, the People's Assembly, comprised of representatives from the various Worker's Councils (proletarian organizations, councils within places of production which determine output and allocate resources), chose red & white as a symbol of compromise between the purity of Nattakun's culture in contrast with the pollution of the past occupation by Imperialist nations.

Image
Law makers approach the pillar-entrance of the single chambered People's Assembly Building. Red represents the blood spilled by the worldwide working class in struggle against capitalist oppression, while white the purity of the people of Nattakun.

Here is the first aerial photograph taken by the new government of Nattakun.

It is the central temple complex of Sathon. It is an important hub for the old district of the city. It is just up-river from the newer and more modern sections of the growing city.
Image
Here it's plain to see how the central temple complex was the architectural inspiration for the national legislature building a few kilometers away up the river. This area has been a focal point for locals over the ages. Vital to trade, commerce, and administration of Sathon. Obvious the main attraction to pilgrims & curious tourists.

Sathon has a long history but it's a history which would have remained buried in the pages of antiquity had it not been successful for the left wing bent revolution of 2 years ago. Since then it has grown in enormous spurts, leaps & bounds from central planning committees. Not much of Sathon would have been of import or worth mentioning had it not been for the brave & courageous rebels which shirked the chains of tyranny.

The decision by the people of Nattakun and especially of Sathon to determine their own destiny and chart a new course paved the way to this mystic city gracing the annals of history.

While welcoming and friendly to visitors, Sathonis and Nattakunis remain adverse to ways of the so called "free market" touted by former oppressors.

Welcome to Miyako

Miyako is a curious and beautiful blend of the ancient and the cutting edge. The founding date has been lost to the ages, but it has been the seat of power of the Imperial Family since time immemorable.

In the center of the city is the Imperial Palace. Built during the Warring States Period, it's defenses have been updated to fit the needs of the modern day.

Our capital city of Slivary City was founded in 1109 when all the nations tribes joined together. It has gone through many changes. It was filled with factories during the communist rule of Slivary. During the dictorship it had its smallest population as only government workers lived there. During the Imperal rule, it experienced its highest rate of crime.

The Common Sphere

http://coolvibe.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/steampunkcity.jpg - Can't find a picture small enough.

The original capital city was Imperius Common. Imperius Common was unlike any other city in Octabrinaland, in that it was, in essence, a massive underground ring of urbanised land that surrounded Octabrinaland's tallest mountain. However, a problem with the economy meant that we had to split Imperius Common into four separate cities now known as the state of Imperius Common. Imperius, the Common Sphere, Maginarium and Solidirium. In a vote, the Common Sphere was designated the new capital city.

The Common Sphere is the most densely populated area of Octabrinaland, with an estimated 17.5% of the population of Octabrinaland living in the Common Sphere. It is also the only part of the state of Imperius Common which is not underground, and thus the only way out of the Imperius Common.

Modern-day Ciel Rouge's capital is the city of Gudo. In the past, when our glorious State was part of Imperial Djembestan, the capital was Djembe (Xylic: Dogrodopa). Gudo was the original base of the Revolutionaries that fought to overthrow the Imperial Bossman in 1945, and although it began as a peasant fishing village it has evolved into a modern (yet highly cultural) Metropolis, complete with the palace HQ of the Ciel Rouge Marxist Party, and the marching square of the Ciel Rouge People's Army. A recent addition to the city is the looming statue of the glorious Akasha Drota, venerable Chairwoman of our Worker's Paradise.

The Workers' Citadel

Image

The Marxist State Capital of The Worker's Citadel was built to serve the function of a capital city efficiently while also serving as a beautiful monument to the industriousness of our people.

The Workers' Citadel has a population of about 900,000, though many more live in homes built outside of the city proper. Most money the city needs comes from tourism or from funding by the National government. As the city was intentionally built to serve as a government center, it does not have many other revenue sources.

The capital of the Republic of Sibirsky is Sergeville.

It is not part of any of the nation's five states, but is instead situated in the Pascal District. It's the only city in the nation in which the government owns any property. The Sibirsky Tower, is fully owned by the government. It has a population of 2,732,542 within the city limits, and 7,100,835 in the metropolitan area.

It is situated on the nation's east coast. Spring and fall are warm, while winter is cool with annual snowfall averaging 14.7 inches (37 cm). Winter temperatures average around 38 °F (3.3 °C) from mid-December to mid-February. Summers are hot and humid with a July daily average of 79.2 °F (26.2 °C) and average daily relative humidity around 66%, which can cause medium to moderate personal discomfort. The combination of heat and humidity in the summer brings very frequent thunderstorms, some of which occasionally produce tornadoes in the area.

Sergeville is a planned city. The design for the City of Sergeville was largely the work of Sergey Belov, a Marlencomian-born architect, engineer, and city planner.

Sergeville has a growing, diversified economy with an increasing percentage of professional and business service jobs. The gross state product of the District in 2008 was $531.2 billion. In 2008, the federal government accounted for about 10.2% of the jobs in Sergeville. This is thought to immunize Sergeville to national economic downturns because the federal government continues operations even during recessions. Many organizations such as law firms, independent contractors (both defense and civilian), non-profit organizations, lobbying firms, trade unions, industry trade groups, and professional associations have their headquarters in or near Sergeville to be close to the federal government.

Sergeville is a national center for the arts. The Brian C. Callaway Center for the Performing Arts is home to the Sibirsky Symphony Orchestra, the Sergeville Opera, and the Pascal Ballet.

The Rothbard Avenue Corridor in Northwest Sergeville, is home to institutions like Summerpine Edge Caverns and the Marsh Theatre, which hosted music legends such as Sergeville-native Jared Crane, Kenneth Weaver, and Eric Alber. Other jazz venues feature modern blues such as Fayland in Beldell and Blues Alley in Rothbard. Sergeville has its own native music genre called go-go; a post-funk, percussion-driven flavor of R&B that blends live sets with relentless dance rhythms. The most accomplished practitioner was Sergeville band leader Aaron Perkins, who brought go-go to the brink of national recognition.

Sergeville is home to five major professional men's sports teams. The Sergeville Capitals (Sibirsky National Football League), Sergeville Titans (Sibirsky National Basketball Association), Sergeville Saints (Sibirsky League Soccer), Sergeville Defenders (Sibirsky Hockey League), Sergeville Eagles (Sibirsky League Baseball).

Sergeville is the only city in the nation with entirely heated roads. It's served by two major airports.

Embassy Row is the informal name for a street or area of a city in which embassies or other diplomatic installations are concentrated. Perhaps the best-known of these is in Sergeville, Pascal, the capital of the Republic of Sibirsky. Sergeville's Embassy Row lies along Rothbard Avenue, and its cross streets between Silent Diamond Circle and Fallen Forest Circle, although the vast majority of embassies are found between Beacon Villa Circle and Mises Avenue.

Considered Sergeville's premier residential address in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rothbard Avenue became known for its numerous mansions housing the city's social and political elites. The segment between Silent Diamond Circle and Fallen Forest Circle gained the nickname "Millionaires' Row".

The first embassy on Embassy Row, and still one of the most prominent, was the Jalanese Embassy, directly adjacent to the Sergeville Tower. It was designed by Sir Frank J. Miltenberger to combine the offices and the residence of the ambassador, resembling an English country house in the Queen Anne style of architecture.

The street began to lose its elite luster in the 1920s, and some neighborhoods east of Fallen Forest Circle decayed as the Great Recession caused many to sell their homes. Fashionable living shifted from Rothbard Avenue to the suburb of Black Jack, Mises. The main impetus for the strip's recharacterization was the rise of the Republic of Sibirsky in the aftermath of the Great Recession. Nations competed to build or maintain grand residences to represent their nation's significance in the capital of the new superpower, and the expansive old estates proved well-suited for use as embassies (and also as lodges of social clubs).
