Smoking in Naemon is very popular, especially among young teenagers, despite laws forbidding the sale of tobacco products to those under 18 years of age. There are heavy taxes on all tobacco producing farms and packaging facilities in order to curb the usage of ciggarettes. There are no legal restrictions on tobacco usage, only laws against its sale to minors. It is considered rude and impolite to smoke among non-smokers or strangers, and most publicly owned restaurants and stores have a policy against it.

There are no laws regarding marijuana, although its increasing popularity is worrying parents and government alike, and legislation may be passed soon to prohibit its use.

A law passing in 1978 forbids anyone from consuming any type of drug except alcohol, so smoking is illegal.

The government of Garvug feels it has no more right to forbid its people from smoking than it does to forbid them to chew gum, or talk on cell phones. As such, smoking is legal in Garvug. If you're standing near a smoker and don't like it, move. Don't seek to restrict their actions and behaviors merely because you disapprove. That's legislating morality. The government of Garvug trusts its adults to be able to make decisions about their own lives without mommy or the government standing over them telling them what to do.

In an aside, the people of Garvug find countries that ban smoking but permit alcohol absurd in the extreme. Alcohol carries health risks at least as severe as those presented by the smoking of cigarettes, and actually poses a greater risk to public health and safety. Many more people are killed by drunk drivers than are killed by the dreaded "second-hand smoke".

Of course not, the burning of tobacco constantly smokes out dangerous miasma which causes all diseases surrounding the smoking individual. Which you must admit is of great benefit to ones health, like taking a cold bath everyday, and keeping the window open at night.

Many of the Scots and Brits in Arkinesia enjoy a pipe every night. Much research has been done on pipes and they're found to have significantly reduced risks of cancer compared to other methods. The most recent study actually had a reasoning for this, but they forgot to tell the printers before the reservation change deadline.

Wow!

In Sibirsky, cigarettes are sold in packs of 20. On average a pack of Marlboro cigarettes is S0.75 ($1.29 USD/£0.79 GBP). Buyers are charged a sales tax of 11% as on all other non essential goods. The sales tax is the only legal tax in the nation.

It is illegal to smoke cigarettes, but not because it is a damage to the smoker's health. We have made it illegal because of the horrible comparison of it to other smokable objects, such as Marijuana. We worry about such things as second-hand smoking as well. Electronic cigarettes are legal, though. With such substitutes available, we enforce them. With suicide legal in our nation, however, you may request a real cigarette to smoke, as long as you do it within the confines of your own home

Marijuana is legal, but no joint of marijuana may be more than 2.25 ounces. If you wish to grow the plant, you must have license to do so. Similar rules apply for nearly all other smokable drugs that have proven to create less of a threat to society.

In order to relax fugitives, police officers are even given the right to offer a criminal while in custody smokable drugs so as to calm the fugitive enough to be brought to their destination. This method has been made legal due to 1% of all deaths being caused by suicide while in police custody.

In the public, cigarette smoking is more commonly looked down upon than marijuana. This is because, when you see someone smoking a real cigarette, it usually means they are trying to kill themselves.

Ah well,
Our prices in 1800 BS (1744 AD), were at similar level - not that many people were really buying it for first three reasons, but since then government intervention has made it quite expensive and more unsafe than it already is: since government has lifted all consumer product safety regulations off alcohol and tobacco products: so most of them dont even have an expiry date stamped on it.

Perfectly legal, but banned in work places and public buildings, with the exception of bars, night clubs, casinos, restaurants and hotels - who are free to impose their own rules & regs. Smoking is also banned in hospital grounds, and outside schools.

-IN GENERAL, it is legal to smoke individually, but not in public due to interpretations of the "right to health". We certainly tax whatever it is they are smoking as well.

-ON PRIVATE PROPERTY, it is the determination of said owner.

Valcluse does not wish to become involved with smoking. Any prohibitions might see a revolution. In fact, tobacco in Valcluse is comparatively cheap compared to other European countries (F6.50 for a pack of ten). Valcluse also has one of the highest rates of youth smokers with 87% of people between the ages of 13 and 18 declaring that they smoke regularly. Smoking is not permitted in schools, courts, local and national government buildings and on public transport. Other than that, Valclusians are free to smoke wherever they want.

Smoking tobacco is legal in AP, though we wouldn't want to say it is encouraged it isn't exactly fought against either, we don't have PSAs warning about smoking (they do exist but through the private sector) and we don't have super strict smoking ordinances, except in certain establishments such as schools.
