smoking in the FSR is illegal for the average citizen. Anyone caught with cigarettes or any other types of drugs (ie marijunana) shall be jailed or thrown into a gulag. Although members of the government and the communist party can afford, buy and use imported cigarettes. Booze is legal though

Smoking is a rather popular affair in the Republics especially among men. Though smoking to excess is considered dirty and a sign of poor judgment.

Smoking is legal in all public and private places unless otherwise posted by whomever owns the property. Hospitals and schools generally do not allow smoking.

Now there is a proper, reasonable stance on the issue.

The government does not have a stance on smoking. Smoking is banned in the Federal building, but is allowed in designated areas outside of the Federal building. Businesses are free to enact their own smoking policies.

Pottslandians have never heard of tobacco, and as a result have never tried it. However, they have weed, which is freely smoked by 98% of the population.

Although the regulation of smoking is left to the states, all states in Frenequesta have banned smoking in public places and places of business, with the exception of smoking bars. Smoking is not all that popular anyway, no less because 1) tobacco hasn't been able to grow in Frenequestan soil and 2) many find it disgusting and are aware of second-hand health effects.

Smoking is not permitted indoors in public property or private property unless the owner chooses otherwise. Smoking is allowed outdoors as long as it is not near any doors or other entry points (i.e. air-con vents).

Smoking is illegal under 16 and in a hospital, but other than that the act of smoking is not regulated. In fact, every single MP in Parliament appears to be a smoker, as shown through the thick cloud of smoke that seeps out from under the great oaken doors leading to the chamber whenever it's in session.

It is legalized and taxed by the government, which is a modest tax but still a large money maker. However, in public buildings it is banned to smoke within them, and must be in an outside area. In private businesses (such as restaurants), it is standard, and law, to have a separate area with stronger then normal ventilation to pump the smoke away from the non-smokers.

The age for which to buy and use is 18.

The laws regarding smoking/overall usage of drugs vary from district to district, some districts have laws only for soft drugs and hard drugs and do not have separate laws for tobacco (in which case, tobacco is regarded as a soft drug)
Smoking tobacco is legal from the age of 16 in Maz Roxez District, Menzbør District, Wud District, Prere District and Meztaukar District.
18 in Inbruk District and Kirkazgibote District.
And it is illegal in Menzbør district
Using soft drugs is legal from the age of 16 in Maz Roxez District.
18 in Menzbør District, Wud District, Prere District, Riviruz District and Kirkazgibote District.
And it is illegal in Meztaukar District and Inbruk District.
Using hard drugs is illegal in all districts.

True, tobacco has a few health benefits, it reduces the risk of Ulcerative colitis. But do you not think that the harmful effects clearly outweigh the benefits?

Smoking is declining, although thousands of young people continue take it up each year. The Federal Government discourages smoking, places large taxes on tobacco and does not allow it inside Federal buildings. The rest is left up to States.

Five years ago, Helitia passed a ban on smoking in public places except for those designated by the local council, igniting a serious debate. Since then, Quirmia and Latatia have done the same, and similar proposals have been introduced in other state legislatures. The Kixas General Assembly recently passed a similar piece of legislation last month and it is expected to be introduced in the Kixas Senate in the coming weeks.

Smoking is not very popular in Belesyia, mostly due to the unpleasantness in a hot climate. Hookah and e-cigarettes are much more popular.

That said, there are no official policies about smoking. Government buildings have "smoke-free" areas, and businesses are free to make their own policies.

Ciggs, cigars, and pot are heavily taxed and illegal to be sold to those under age 18.

Smoking is banned on school grounds and places such as supermarkets where children frequent. Public parks have designated smoking areas. Smoking in private property such as bars and the like (ignore what it says about private commerce being illegal; it is legal, but with heavy anti-trust laws in place) is left to the discretion of the owner.

Government is officially neutral in terms of smoking however no one actually smokes for quite a few reasons:-
1. It is frowned upon as it is seen as slow suicide done by very selfish person.
2. It is viewed as another attempt of western cultural invasion.
3. People are health conscious.
4. There is VAT of 250%.
5. Import is banned.
6. Transportation tax is 150%.
7. Retail tax is 200%.
8. Production tax is 230%.
9. Smoking in public place is banned.
