You and your nation

Are you the same? By which I mean, does your nation (the main nation) reflect your own political views, or is it an experiment, or is it just the outright opposite? How much so?

As for me, I am socialist (see sig), but my nation is super-capitalist. I'd go for option number three, then. I chose to make a nation like this because I read Jennifer Government (this site actually does what it's supposed to do), and because it's very interesting to RP.

Ooh, for me it's my complete paradise. :3 All man made everything, no nature, people controlling the government and not the other way around. :3 Low taxes, good economy, it's perfect.

I just thought it would be fun to RP a nation with a half-insane monarch, mega-corporations and a national religion that views all crabs as sacred, while considering seagulls the spawn of evil, and viewing airplanes in a similar light.

I don't think having a semi-crazy leader would be fun (at least, not for very long)
I don't feel that mega-corporations are the best or safest way for a nation to do buisness
I don't believe that gigantic crustacean gods live at the bottom of deep sea trenches, and that all crabs are sacred creatures. Crabs aren't even my favourite animals.
I don't hate seagulls, nor consider them the spawn of evil. In fact I find them a constant source of amusement.
I don't hate airplanes, nor consider them metalic homages to the spawn of evil. In fact I rather like planes, especially earlier propeller-y ones.

In short, I tried my darnedest not to be the nation version of a Mary Sue.
I think I succeeded.

Essentially, Frenequesta is the spitting image of me.

I have a couple of alternates-- The Herbian Wall, and Ozarkswampthat are strongly against my beliefs in any number of ways-- the first is a military dictatorship ruled by a half-insane and largely incompetent general that maintains power through mind tricks, the second a democratic, albeit socially restrictive nation where televangelists are also the head politicians, pi is equal to three, there is no such thing as an apartment building, and a third of the land is taken up by roads and parking spaces. I have been thinking about giving these nations factbooks and integrating them in RPs.

Nope, my nation is very different though I do throw in a bunch of my own personal opinions, particularly with the Kaiser.

Freytania, my main nation, is what I like to call my "paradise nation." It reflects every one of my views, and is the "ideal place to live," were NationStates nations real. However, I have 5 other nations as well, many of which of which don't reflect my views, for the most part.

One of them is the nation I use to vent my frustrations on fake citizens whenever the mood strikes me. It's a nation that relies heavily on control and military most of the time, and cares little for its people.

Another is a fledgling, naive nation that wants so badly to keep its people safe and happy that its economy is terrible, and freedoms tend to get restricted often.

There are two more that I made as "Big Bad" nations, constantly fighting each other. One is more barbaric, relying on brute force most of the time, while the other is an all-encompassing Big Brother sort of state, that cares greatly for its people, to a point. Both spend most of their funds on military.

The last is the one that's most similar to Freytania, as far as belief systems go. They're very clean and efficient, and the people have great freedoms. It's a high-tech nation, more advanced than all the others, and the people are a bit eccentric.

I really have no self-control when it comes to creating these things. Really. I use them mostly as models for my own stories, rather than roleplaying, but, there ya have it.

Mostly the opposite. I'm fiercely Conservative fiscally; socially Conservative only in that I believe in work ethic and the benefits all types of marraiges hold for society, economy and family.

Stachland is pretty much a utopia for me—a communist state where everyone can do anything as long as it does not harm others. A nation of people dedicated to art and culture!

Largely exaggurated economically, opposite socially.

Christmas Land is a hardcore theocracy where consumerism and "The Christmas Spirit" (the twisted national religion) are Law.

It's also unlawful to challenge the government, which consists of Santa and his loyal cabinet of fat-cat CEOs who are responsible for running the nation's various unstoppable, unlimited industrial monopolies.

I have a lot of countries, but this one, "Controlistan," is the control - that is, the one I rule under my own, actual, real-world political beliefs.
Controlistan is the "control group" in the experiment, every other country is a "test group."
That's why I made my motto "Death to Uncontrolled Variables!" and my animal the "lab rat."
