"
SECTION V-V: Instant-Runoff VotingA ranked, instant runoff, voting system as detailed below shall be used for all elections of Atlassian officials, allowing voters to assign ranks to each candidate. Elections shall be started on the 27th of the month and run for 72 hours, being started by the Executive President first, the Minister of Defense if not the Executive President, the Minister of Recruitment if not the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Information if not the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Cartography if not the Minister of Information, the Founder if not the Minister of Cartography, and any Atlassian citizen if an official does not start it. Candidates should be arranged in alphabetical order according to ISO 12199:2000. Candidates who made the organizer aware of their candidacy before the start of elections but were not listed may demand a restart of the electoral process and their being added. For however many candidates there are, a voter can assign a rank from 1, the highest rank, to that number, the lowest, to each candidate, repeating no ranks. It is not mandatory to assign all or any ranks, and candidates left unranked do are not assigned a rank. Should gaps (i.e. 1, 3, 4) appear in a voter's ranks, that gap will be closed by moving numbers after it up (1, 2, 3). Write-in candidates may be voted for. During rounds of counting, the candidate or candidates with the fewest first-choice picks is removed in each successive round until one candidate, the winner of the election, remains. Ties for the winner shall be decided in a democratic manner."
