We don't have state television, but public television. The RTI is publicly-funded at a national level, but it operates independently from the government.

We also have regional public television stations which also operate independently from their regional governments and are publicly-funded at a regional level.

The same goes for radio, although in some regions the regional public radio and television services are separated.

Like the Iglesian Archipelago, we don't have state TV but rather public TV that receives public funds but is independently managed.

State TV (Channel 1) is just a public broadcast station, playing the Tsar's speeches and giving important public information updates.

We have public TV, not state TV, and this is usually for educational, news, and weather programs.

There is public TV that talks about news, weather, and such. Most of our channels are private, though.

Of course, some programs are indeed made by the state, most of them being propaganda but they're typically only created during times of war, cold wars, and international crises.

The Empire of Analea maintains the Analean International News Network (AINN) through a tax on all televisions and, due to relatively recent technological developments, ISP address providers. The AINN is a separate, private entity from the Imperial Government, and while funded by tax dollars it is not beholden to the political leaders of the nation or their opinions. The AINN is primarily a news outlet, but it also creates documentaries on scientific and historical topics, and typically receives high marks for its accuracy and quality in the production thereof. The AINN is usually given credit as the fairest and most reliable source of political and social information in the Empire, and is held to high standards of journalism to achieve this.

The AINN is available on television and on the internet in the form of articles and live streaming. It once operated a newspaper--the Analean Daily Times--but has since moved all written articles online; all the old ADT articles are available through the Royal Imperial Archives (which now operate online, as well).

Most tv networks in Miley World are owned by the government, but they're not showing any propaganda, they're operated like any public networks. The most popular networks are SBC (Smiler Broadcasting Corporation), MWBS (Miley World Broadcasting Service), MTV (Miley TV), MSN (Miley Sports Network) and MMC (Miley Music Channel). Most people from other country would think we show some videos, and lots of crap like Jersey Shore on MTV, but it's not a music channel, it's a normal tv network like CBS or ABC.

The official state channel of TurtleShroom is Channel Eighteen and Channel Forty Six, "The Government Channel" and "The Eternal Coverage Channel". What you see is what you get. TGC is home to events, election announcements, public access television, speeches, propaganda, and various things pertaining to and promoting TurtleShroom, always in a positive light, of course!

TECC is a gavel-to-gavel coverage of TurtleShroom's Congress. Congress meets Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, all year long, closed federal holidays and Sunday.
Premium subscribers can also obtain TECC two through five, which cover executive meetings and judicial hearings. TECC's existance is an interpretation of the Constitution that requires "total disclosure" of the government's workings, except when military issues are at hand, or other secrets that would detrimentally harm TurtleShroom if leaked occur.

TurtleShroom analog technology enables our televisions to receive fifty channels on their antennas. In addition to local channels, three national channels of the user's choosing are free just by purchasing a television that comes with an antenna, plus the Government Channels.
(The other forty eight channels of the fifty are privately owned.)

In a way, though, all television has some state influence. Shows and movies have to be presented to the Board of Censors to be screened for immorality. The Holiness Board, as it's called, will then remove the cursing and sex from the item until it's family-friendly, and rebroadcast the squeaky-clean rendition.

The news and live television is not censored, because it's all live. We aren't high-tech enough to censor television in real time, so the Board of Censors, through its Departmental Commission of Communications, can literally pull a switch and shut off a channel if a TV operator tries to "screw the censors" by cursing on live television.

We also have that wonderful notion of raising license permits and pulling licenses for... well, let's say it's NOT because we don't like you, all right?

As for radio, which is adored more than television and far more exploited, the same applies, but the censorship of radio and the ability to control it is harder. Most every show has a radio show equivalent, from South Park to Jimmy Two Shoes to American Idol. TurtleShroom radio is more viewed than television.

For that, the state channel is 1.0 AM, National TurtleShroom Public Radio. Its host takes calls from any old joe with a telephone. It's the one place you can hear a curse, because the censors can't censor an eternally live channel.

All TS radio is in AM. We haven't mastered FM broadcasting yet.

In the Republic of Jaco, there is on state ran station (Channel 3) It runs only weather and news. The rest of the channels are in the public domain, running off of small companies powered by the giving of fans of that particular channel.

However, the government holds the right to cut off any public stations in the case of national emergency (war, natural disaster, public health/safety)

Channel 2 is the de facto State TV Station, with News and Entertainment as standard fare. Channel 4 is the de jure State TV Station, with News and Public Service as standard fare.

We have a public broadcasting network (PBC) in Capitalistic Socialist Pengwonia, which operates 3 radio and 4 television networks. It is pretty independent as public broadcasters go and covers news from a non-baist perspective. All other TV and radio programming also shows no political bias, the only show that does is "A Political Debate" airing weeknights of PBC 1 and PBC News 24, in which politicians and activists debate political issues.

The Union of Central African Socialist States Ministry of Media is responsible for 3/4 of the nations programming, with the remaining 1/4 going to various agencies who purchase airtime on state-owned channels. With these contracts for specific amounts of airtime, the state can generate a great deal of income, which then goes to social welfare and health programs for those who cannot afford such luxuries.

Nope - Our media is independent of the government (even if there is a CLBC Parliament channel).
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)
