In Narexia, the very first line of The Narexian Constitution states: "All citizens shall have the permanent right to acquire and possess firearms and/or weapons so long as they are law-abiding and shall not jeopordize the safety and security of the nation."
Interpretation: Anyone shall be allowed to carry just so long as the obey the laws. Any citizen has the right to defend his/her self, anyone who is in his/her care/guardianship/custody and their property from any unprovoked attack(s). Let it be known that the right to defend one's self shall NOT be infringed upon in any way, shape or form by any means, methods or practices by ANYONE except law-enforcement/military where it is deemed that the law has been broken and/or there exist plans to break the law.
Firearms licenses are required by anyone wishing to obtain a firearm. They fall into several classes:
Class 1): For smoothbore shotguns and smoothbore rifles only. Weapons must not have a higher capacity than 3+1 rounds (rim-fire weapons must not have more than 10+1 rounds) and must not be semi-auto capable, auto or burst fire is also NOT PERMITTED. Restrictions: Not allowed to hunt except in grave circumstances (i.e. animal attack) and is only authorized to use any approved weapons for target, competitive or defense shooting only and this is NOT a Firearms Carry Authorization OR Firearms Transport Authorization. Weapons must not have a barrel length shorter than 24 inches. They also cannot have any attachments except a visible beam type laser pointer. Stock must be permanent, rigid, non-folding. Collapsing, folding or removable stocks are NOT PERMITTED. No caliber exceeding .270 may be used for rifles. Shotgun's are restricted to 16, 20 or .410 gauge.
Class 2): Rifled shotguns and Rifles only or smoothbore rifle and shotguns. Weapons are permitted to have a capacity of 5+1 rounds and 15+1 for rim-fire weapons. No semi-auto, full-auto or burst-fire weapons are allowed. Must have a barrel length of at least 20 inches. Rigid, permanent stock only. Optics may be used provided they are FPS-156-A certified & approved (look for sticker, sticker indicating this must be somewhere on the optical device itself to be valid). For rifles, no caliber exceeding .308 may be used. Shotgun's are restricted to 12,16,20 and .410.
Class 3): Semi-auto rifles and shotguns are permitted. NO HANDGUNS! Revolvers are however allowed as long as the caliber does NOT exceed .45 ACP and do not exceed 7 rounds capacity. Same magazine capacity restrictions apply for rifles and shotguns listed under class 3 as in Class 2. No burst-fire or fully automatic weapons are permitted. Barrel must be at least 18 inches. Folding or collapsible stocks ARE permitted. No caliber exceeding .440 may be used in any rifle. There are no shotgun caliber or gauge restrictions for Class 3 licensee’s.
Class 4): Handguns, shotguns and rifles: Rifles must not have a capacity exceeding 10+1 rounds, shotguns no more than 7+1 and handguns no more than 10+1 rounds. No magazine capacity restrictions apply for ANY rim-fire weapon. Barrel length for rifles and shotguns must be at least 16 inches. at least 4.5 inch barrel or longer for handguns. No full-auto or burst-fire are permitted!
Class 5:) Handguns, shotguns, rifles and assault rifles: *Rifles must not have a capacity exceeding 10+1 rounds except when authorized for 20+1 rounds by endorsement. *Assault rifles may not have more than 10+1 rounds. Shotguns may not exceed 8+1 rounds. Handguns may not exceed 17+1 rounds. *No burst-fire weapons are permitted without the appropriate endorsement - EXCEPT HANDGUNS! No handgun shall be full-auto OR burst-fire. Barrel length must be at least 16 inches for rifles, assault rifles and shotguns. Handguns are allowed a 4.5 inch or longer barrel.
Class 6:) Handguns, submachineguns, shotguns, rifles, assault rifles are permitted. Rifles, assault rifles and submachineguns may have up to 20+1 rounds and barrels must be at least 12 inches long. Shotguns are allowed up to 10+1 rounds and barrels must be at least 16 inches long. Handguns may have up to 20+1 rounds and barrel may be 4 inches or longer. Automatics are authorized for anything EXCEPT handguns, shotguns and *SMG's. Concealed carry IS PERMITTED of one (1) handgun and up to three (3) extra magazines. Class 6 license holders do not need a Concealed Handgun License (C.H.L.)as the Concealed Handgun Certification Course must be passed to obtain Class 6. No other weapons may be carried loaded except when permitted (i.e. Firing range, hunting grounds, home/property defense etc.) *Burst-fire or full-auto SMG's are allowed with endorsement.
Class 7:) Any handgun, SMG, shotgun, rifle, assault rifle and machinegun: Automatic weapons are permitted including automatic shotguns. Full-auto handguns ONLY by endorsement. No restrictions whatsoever on barrel length or magazine capacity. No caliber larger than .50 shall be used in any handgun or revolver. No caliber larger than .45 shall be used in any smg. No caliber larger than .57 may be used for any rifle except by special permit. (this applies to a RIFLE ONLY! Not assault rifles or machineguns). ANY heavy machine gun regardless of caliber is allowed up to and including 23x152mm. *Caliber's up to .800 may be used in a rifle with a special permit.
REGARDLESS of the class of weapon license and any endorsements a license holder may have (exceptions being “PO” “FA” or “V” endorsements ONLY) , it forbidden to possess, use, store, maintain, procure, acquire, discharge or in any other way be involved with a rim-fire HANDGUN OR REVOLVER! Only Peace Officers, Firearm Officers, Federal Agents and Armed Services staff may legally posses, discharge, maintain, store or in any other way be involved with a rim-fire handgun. ANY handguns in the following calibers and/or designed/modified to shoot are expressly FORBIDDEN:
Anything smaller than .25 (6.35mm) ACP
Anything .41 (10.4mm) or bigger caliber - *with the exemptions listed below*
10mm Auto (since it used in law enforcement, military and federal agencies) with the exception of approved hunting cartridges.
9x21mm Gyurza (Armor Piercing), hunting cartridges are allowed however.
Any handgun cartridge with a casing length longer than 25mm is forbidden with the sole exceptions of including some rounds bigger than .41 (10.4mm) caliber:

ALSO NOT PERMITTED TO USE ANY FIREARM TYPE WHICH REQUIRES ANY ENDORSEMENTS UNLESS THE SHOOTER IS AT LEAST CLASS-4 PROBATIONARY!
PRO-2) Probationary Licensee-STAGE 2 - NOT PERMITTED TO POSSES OR USE ANY FIREARM(S) WITHOUT A LICENSEE WHO HOLDS A LICENSE FOR THAT CLASS OF WEAPON OR BETTER PRESENT. NOT PERMITTED TO USE ANY WEAPON ABOVE THE PROBATIONARY LICENSEE'S LICENSE CLASS! ALSO NOT PERMITTED TO USE ANY FIREARM TYPE WHICH REQUIRES ANY ENDORSEMENTS UNLESS THE SHOOTER IS AT LEAST CLASS-4 PROBATIONARY!
F) Full-privilage licensee for the class in which the license is granted.
+) Licensee has special endorsements and/or exemptions on license. (All but Class 7)
B) Burst-fire type weapons permitted. (Class 5 only)
A) Automatics authorized user. (Class 5 & 6 only)
H) Hunting permitted. (Endorsement needed for Classes 1,2,3 and 4 only)
S) Special license* - *see conditions on the user's license.
C) Corrective lenses must be worn.
CFC) Concealed Firearm Carry authorization. NOT ALLOWED FOR ANY CLASS 1, 2 OR 3 LICENSEE'S!
M) Higher magazine capacity permitted* - * see license for exact capacity allowed for each permitted class of weapon.
R) RESTRICTED - No fully automatic or burst-fire type weapons permitted REGARDLESS OF CLASS OF LICENSE.
V) Veteran license - discount for services paid to the Armed Services.
ME) Exempt from any magazine restrictions.
PO) Peace Officer - Allowed to posses of any weapon(s) and magazines authorized by his/her dept. or agency.
PO-ME) Peace Officer - Exempt from magazine restrictions.
FA) Federal Agent - Allowed to posses of any weapon(s) and magazines authorized by his/her agency.
FA-SPECIAL) Federal Agent-SPECIAL - Exempt from any restrictions whatsoever.
So most licensee's will be Class (#)-F. In the case of probationary licensee's, the designation will be: Class-(#) PRO-(1 or 2).
