We've had freedom of religion since our founding. However through out our history there has been violence towards Christians and Jews.

North Suthia has always been home to a diverse set of beliefs, far before civilization grew here. As villages expanded to cities, so did simple folk beliefs become organized religions. Nowadays, North Suthia is abound with a diverse set of cults, forming a continuum of belief systems, both strange and mundane.

Freedom of religion in Thamesholm is extremely limited.
A laïcite policy is in place prohibiting the wearing of religious symbols anywhere save dwellings and places of worship.

The only exemptions are the City of Wallborough and Sikh soldiers, though the laws are unenforced in Westhames and Greater Wallborough.

Sure, there’s freedom of religion. The people here are free to either warship their Supreme Ruler or have their hearts ripped out of their chests and served up by the High Priestesses of Morrigana as a sacrifice to the malevolent Demon Queen Devine Empresses of Corvinna while their lifeless corpses are fed to the crows.
Freedom? Freedom is an illusion. You all, every one of you, serve and obey your masters every single day. Children obey their parents to avoid being punished. Adults obey their employers to avoid being fired. Good citizens obey the law to avoid imprisonment. You ALL obey ME to avoid a very painful death. Freedom, my friends, is life’s great lie. Once you accept that, in your hearts, you will know peace.”

Lady Morrigana, Supreme Ruler and One True Goddess of the Empire of Corvinna

Freedom of religion exists for the general public - theoretically (albeit with certain parameters), however, Safiloa is a theocratic oligarchical nation, and in practice, certain government and public office positions are deeply religiously associated and linked. There's a population of Jains, Animists, and Jews and they each have their own semi-autonomous representative council and region and there is a general feeling that the four main religions (incl. the overly dominant Mazdakism) have a greater influence on daily life.

Any religion that liturgically specifically glorifies war, death, discrimination, pain, torture, monogamy, zealotry, meat-eating, or slavery is banned.
Followers of Christianity and Islam, therefore, have had to adapt their rhetoric to some extent.

Vesperia, while officially adhering to state atheism, allows most religious groups to practice freely provided that their practices do not violate Vesperian law. However, religious belief has undergone a sharp decline since the 1934 revolution, as while religious individuals and organisations do not face state persecution, they do not receive any support and education programs have worked to steadily erode the foundations of religious belief and other superstitions. Subsequently it is estimated that less than 10% of the population are religious, and their practices tend to be private affairs as churches and other religious institutions have gradually been shut down.

During the Communist Era, religious freedom was in theory absent, but in pratice abundant. During the Fascist Era, religious freedom was practically nonexistent. During the times of the Imperial Federation, religious freedom is thorough, with only there being limits on religions which are very obviously a danger to others or is obviously and inherently discriminatory.
This is kind of a mirror of -Russian Empire, but also kind of not.
= Russian Imperial Federation =

After some reforms, the -Russian Empire (Russian Empire) reformed and officially changed its name to the Russian Imperial Federation, representing a shift away from expansive policies. The Russian Imperial Federation is a democratic superpower, much like the United States of America. However, there differences are economic: Russia is under democratic capitalism (currently social democracy), while the United States is under democratic socialism, following the election of the candidate that represents the DSA. Due to this difference in economics and despite both of them being democracies, tensions are rising between the two superpowers, although not as aggressive as the 1st Cold War.

Roman Catholicism is overwhelmingly the dominant faith in Imperial Old Mexico, but other religions are somewhat grudgingly tolerated. Even the Church sometimes runs afoul of the narco-state and its puppet monarchy, but there is mostly a sort of informal concordat between prelates and the State. Importing outside religious literature, however, is strictly prohibited, as are foreign missionaries of any stripe. Distributing Chick tracts, especially, will land you in very hot water legally speaking, possibly carrying a sentence of six months in jail and a public caning.

Opus Dei, however, is explicitly banned from Mexican soil.

Esterhill's Twin Hands Fellowship are the dominant religious order in the country, and they exercise tremendous power over the nation's citizenry.

As could be expected from such a powerful religious denomination, followers of other faiths are often seen as heretics, although only those who attempt to proselytize face any real consequences for this.

Freedom of religion exists.
Any religion (or lack thereof) comes with duties.

Young Muslim men are required to serve in the armed forces for three years (unless they have a reserved occupation), meanwhile non-Muslim civilians (excluding the very poor) are required to pay a tax called the jizya (as an alternative to military service).

Freedom of religion is constitutionally guaranteed and there are many varied religious groups in Aurea. However, the constitution also gives the Catholic Church a privileged position and names it as the national church of Aurea. The Emperor is constitutionally required to be Catholic and the vast majority of the population (over 85%) are Christians, either Catholic or Protestant.

Freedom of conscience is explicitly laid out in the Treaty of Socialist Solidarity, the founding document of United Contana. To quote the Treaty directly:

Citizens of United Contana are guaranteed freedom of conscience, that is, the right to profess or not to profess any religion, and to conduct religious worship.

During the government of Leon Malenyev, the right to religion was all but repealed. The current government is seeking to rectify this by paying reparations to unduly disrupted or destroyed religious communities and churches.

Religion is not officially banned, but it is discouraged. This being said, the state has little actual control over what people do behind closed doors.

While religion is not banned, and People’s right to practice is protected and upheld; however, due to restrictions on its presence in schools, government, or workplaces religion as a whole in its importance to society has drastically diminished. Despite his 93-95% of Malians profess some form of religious belief

the Empire of Nihon gives freedom to all religions apart from “distortions” of Shinto such as Shugendo.

This restriction is deemed ”necessary to protect the purity of Shinto.”

Scyms are free to believe whatever they want to believe, but attempting to convert others unless they specifically consent to it is illegal.

The largest three religions by believers according to the last census are the Chapel of the Simulation Hypothesis (51%), Mortism (13%) and Scientology (11%).

However, the government/law do not recognise any 'official' religion or provide any exemptions to the law on religious grounds.

We're proud to say that we have done our best to keep our nation free from...wait. Oh.

Religious practice is nominally legal, though in no way accomodated by the state: religious texts are not in print and hard to import (they tend to have accidents or get lost in the customs inspections), no holidays are accepted and no dietary restrictions observed. Officially the stated stance is that "the question whether one or more deities exist is of very minor scientific import and not worth exploring."

Being openly religious will make you pretty much a pariah: you will be ostracised, excluded from party membership, and perhaps most importantly loose eligibility to National Service, which will in turn preclude you from voting. The police keeps files on known religiously affiliated persons and maintains a loose net of surveillance. Converting public space into "temples" or whatever you call them is regulated as "misuse of peoples property" and thus impossible.

Schools teach the normal scientific curriculum (no cringe-fringe creationists here!). Religion is mentioned in passing mostly in historical studies and the socio-philosophical side. Again: defending it is legal, but the ethical councils and discplinary student committees of most universities would certainly put a stop to such disgraceful behaviour.
