[The Salzburg Commission]

People hate the Salzburg Commission due to a lot of factors:

- Conspiracy theories from both left and right sides of the spectrum. These theories range from "fascist quest for global dominance" to "liberal group centered on human sacrifice".
- Basically all of East Asia, India, and Africa hate us for collaborating against independence movements in European colonies. India, China, and the Japanese Federation are the most angered by our pro-colonialist position, while Portugal is rather supportive of us.
- The Achleitners, one of the founding families of the Commission, had ties to Nazi officials.
- The Ravenscroft's Trading Company, a chartered company founded through a collaboration of the Ravenscroft family and the English monarchy, still holds many territories around the world, especially in Africa and East Asia. The company is infamous for its oppression of natives, drug trafficking, and smuggling. The Ravenscroft Family is arguably the most influential family in the Commission.
- The Guimarães were influential merchants in the Mediterranean, although they had to look for greener pastures due to the Venetians. They spread through the Brazilian coast and the Guinea Gulf. The Guimarães eventually settled on Brazil, and they became very influential. After independence, the family began taking part in politics and has controlled much of the Brazilian political scene since WW2. The Guimarães control a multinational company known for its morally ambiguous leadership.
- The Mironchiks are hated by the elitists for having a "rags to riches" history. Common people hate this family (specifically Stanislau) for their bigotry and sense of superiority, which manifests through brash speeches, assimilation policies, and expansionist nationalism.
- Apparently, people get mad when you begin to threaten their dominance in the world.

I decided to revisit this thread, and post better reasons why.

1. Atheara has gender equality, no cap. This is why Atheara is considered a threat by feminists, but the Athearan people just roast them so hard about it they stopped caring about whatever Atheara has in store about what feminists are trying to earn. And that is gender inequality where women have more privileges and talk shit about men in a nutshell. In Athearan Law, gender has no meaning.

2. Mixed a Dictatorship with Nationalism, Democracy, and add some Fair Capitalism. This whole mix of economy, ideology, and government system was really considered to be a bad idea by veteran politicians, and many Athearan Leaders were opposed by others. But perseverance and dedication won't betray the results, and Atheara is what it is now because of this mix.

3. Past Actions. Atheara gained the territory they have now mostly through war, and many native people of the territories still have a grudge against Atheara. The Government announced that they want to put that back to past, and start a new future. Most people had stayed neutral about this, but few still opposes Atheara to this day.

4. Dense and Cold Military and Police Force. Because of this, Atheara is originally seen as a more Authoritarian Government, but this was way far from the case. The people had their freedoms held, and the Military along with the Police are generally very friendly with the people. Some crime cases even require Police to ask for help from nearby citizens.

5. Too divided of a Culture. Atheara has now birthed a new kind of culture, an Athearan Culture. People see this just as ripping off from other cultures. But what really proves those people wrong is how Atheara did this. An International Culture Exchange Expo, is what made this possible. Japan, Indonesia, and suprisingly, The Western US helped shaped what Athearan Culture is now. And the people who opposed this still tries to make a point, even though this is now Internationally recognized.

[The Disorder]

The Disorder is composed of anarchists that want to incite mass extinctions and purge order from the universe. They have a bunch of mad scientists unrestrained by any sense of ethics. Their military has no chain of command, no accountability, no authority, and no predictability, armed with excessively high-tech space warships that excel at hyperdrive-propelled terrorism. And if that's not enough, they use mass torture & space magic as an incredibly cheap and abundant power source.

There are a ton of great reasons to oppose the Disorder. They're classic bad guys, almost universally hateable and deplorable - but they're convinced beyond all doubt that they're good, and everyone else is evil. Their 'utopia' is the evil and twisted kind, a reactor of atrocity and cruelty built to propel a select few to godhood and beyond.

Andocara has been criticized for being overly secular, and their policies around religion. They instill religious freedom as a fundamental right, and some regions even provide media in various different world religions, not just Christianity. On the other hand they filter out religious references in American imports. For example, when TGI Friday’s came to Andocara, the slogan was altered from “Thank God It’s Friday” to “Thank Goodness It’s Friday”. In addition, some Andocarians call Christmas Winter Holiday. It is also criticized by even more countries for its police-state like conditions. For example, it’s strong surveillance systems that are present in every public space, including public transport. Every new home built in Andocara also come with security cameras that notify the owner when someone (rather familiar or not) is trying to get in. The security cameras and surveillance both have facial recognition technology, and are able to identify who people are. They can also communicate and link with other devices so if the police are searching for someone, they can easily locate the suspect’s current location. Not only are people part of the system, but also cars, guns, and various mundane devices.

Prior to the recent war, Gerburtsurg was hated primarily due to our refusal to participate in international diplomacy and engagement. We had a strong policy of putting our nation and its people first. We did not require the support of other nations and held an isolationist stance. Recent events have changed our approach to international diplomacy. Some of our colonies were attacked by the nation of Brasilistan and we were able to defeat them in a brief war. We removed their corrupt government, brought them into our sphere of influence, and helped them rebuild their nation better than it was. Our neighbors then violated the only international treaty we had with them and began preparing for a sneak attack againt us. Naturally, we launched preemptive defensive strikes against them. This resulted in a full-scale war which we were able to win thanks to our superior armed forces. Like with Brasilistan, we deposed their old governments, installed friendly regimes and invested heavily in rebuilding the nations better than they had been. Recent polls suggest the populations are very happy being in our sphere of influence. We do still draw hatred from the exiled governments who claim we are oppressing the people. Again, the polls suggest otherwise.

1. "Oh my God, you let 4 year olds walk alone to school?!"
One of the most common yet surprisingly unexpected criticisms is how parents will allow their children as young as 3 (with an older sibling's supervision, of course) to spend the majority of their time away from their parents. Lanoraie is exceedingly safe and well-equipped to handle a missing child case, and walkability of neighborhoods is quite high in most areas. When Earthly people, particularly Americans, think of our children running amock without adult supervision, they immediately picture a child walking on a barren street being snatched up by a man in a van. However, with child abduction rates landing at a whopping 1 out of 1 million, it's hard to justify that fear. There are plenty of quiet streets in Lanoraie, but most of the abductions have actually happened from inside someone's home via breaking and entering.

Children are taught from an extremely early age independence and safety, and by law, no child under the age of 13 may walk without either a GPS tracking device, or an alarm they can easily pull when they feel in danger. Those alarms are rarely pulled, even by devious toddlers, so you can guarantee if they are pulled, nearly everyone in the immediate vicinity will bolt to that noise. Some even will insta-notify the police upon pulling them.

With an average generated revenue of 7 billion LEN, we certainly are not in debt, and the amount of people living off of welfare is fairly low; anyone who qualifies for welfare is certainly not "lazy" but rather in need of help, and unlike some countries, we don't place excessive value on work anyway. It doesn't mean people don't work hard, but with an average work week being 27 hours and the unemployment rate being just 0.7%, it's clear to see that to many people, work is a welcome thing in their lives.

3. "Stop slut-shaming promiscuous people!"
Research has shown time and time again that promiscuous activity damages peoples' ability to form future relationships, and disregarding that for a second, it is simply not in Lanomiran culture to sleep around. The average person has had just 1 sexual partner prior to marriage, and virgins are incredibly common as well. There is plenty to lose in promiscuity, but much to gain in waiting. Changing peoples' minds will not be easy and is a fruitless endeavor. Very few will "slut shame", but they will point out that having more than 3-4 partners (unless you're old) is an indicator that something is seriously wrong with you in some aspect of your life or personality.
