Political Parties Formed

Sobieski - Today in the Capital of Ionland, Members of the National Senate all convened to hand in the results and final agreements between each other to form the political parties that the First Decree of Krol Mikolaj permitted. For the past month, members of the National Senate have been in talks to form the nation's new political parties which will replace the old non-partisan constitutional law that was established during the Rominski Family ascension to the throne.

The party that will comprise a majority of the legislative chambers is the National Royalist Party, a national conservative party that has a strong focus on the maintenance and preservation of the Enlightened Absolute Monarchy that has ruled Ionland for the past century. The Party runs on a pro-traditionalist, pro-Christian, nationalist, and isolationist platform. The second largest party is the Conservative Party, a soft conservative party that focuses on fiscal conservative issues. The third largest party is the National Falange for the Orthodox People, a radical Orthodox Christian party that focuses on complete Orthodox Christian and Biblical political policies.

The Fourth largest party is a the Union Party, a political party focused on worker and industrial issues and the fifth and final party is the Unity Party, a party focused on expanding the unity between the Slavic and Chosun Ionite groups.

Landmark agreement reached as Luziyca pledges to recognise the Kaonese People's Union
Somphao Wongsuwan
Image

Daeng Meuang - After several months of talks and negotiations the Christian Republic of Luziyca, the former imperialist master over Kaona, has agreed to recognise the rightful sovereignty of the Kaonese People's Union and to end the occupation of the Phaonam islands after over 65 years of hostility towards Kaona. In a statement made today, President Yuttapong Rakkiatgym stated that "we have come to an agreement with Bethlehem over the status of Luziycan-Kaonese relations, and will ensure that a lasting peace agreement between our countries can be implemented.". Rakkiatgym confirmed that as part of the agreement that the Phaonam islands (currently governed as a colony) will be transferred to Kaona as a Socialist Autonomous Republic within the Kaonese People's Union. As well as this, the Phuko Ceasefire will be replaced by the Rakkiatgym-Svensson Treaty which establishes a lasting, long term peace.

This move towards solidarity between Kaona and Luziyca has been largely driven by the efforts of President Rakkiatgym to take a diplomatic approach to reunify Kaona and curb the most egregious imperialist acts of the Luziycan government. This has been complimented when in 2016 when President Sera Svensson took power in Luziyca, who was able to attain that longterm Luziycan colonialism was unsustainable and thus has agreed to finally attain a peace agreement that has been eluding Luziycan-Kaonese relations since the Phuko Ceasefire in 1977. The road to this historic landmark can be traced back to Prime Minister Jakrapob Chanawongse's proposal for the creation of the Unification Forum in 1999, which established informal relations between Kaona and Luziyca on the matter of ending the Kaonese Liberation War. Whilst Presidents Khuang Chomanan, Thongchat Chatikavanich and Thanapoom Kanchanakphan attempted to negotiate a peace settlement, successive Luziycan presidents have stalled in order to maintain occupation of the Phaonam Islands. However, in recent years efforts by the Communist Party have cemented a lasting peace agreement and reunification of Kaona.

The peace agreement will come into effect when approved by the People's Union Congress, with the first flights from Phuko International Airport to Bethlehem International Airport scheduled for December. Kaonese citizens will be able to apply for visa's to Luziyca within 12 months, whilst Luziycan embargoes on Kaonese goods and services will be gradually repealed over a similar period. A trade deal is also expected to be negotiated in the future. The Luziycan government has pledged to no longer interfere in internal Kaonese affairs as part of their commitment to renounce imperialism towards Kaona and work with Kaona as a bilateral relationship. In regards to the agreement, Rakkiatgym stated that "It is in both our interests to work together to be able to discuss important issues both were we are in agreement and where we are at confrontation at a open level and build political trust between our nations. I hope we can build a consensus on many issues in the spirit of our socialist character and bring more benefits to our people."

Historic Heat Wave Lingers over NE Ainin
EXPECTED TO KEEP UP FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK
Image
Locals crowd a Huimont beach amid the worst heat wave
on record in Aininian history (© STA/Marc Li)
HUIMONT - Temperatures have climbed into the mid-forties in much of north-eastern Ainin -- shattering previous records and leading health officials to plead for caution. At Huimont International Airport, the temperature this noon was 44° (111°F). The previous record was 39° (102°F), in 1961. The heat is expected to keep up for at least a week, according to the Meteorological Office, as a warm front slowly makes its way through the northeast.

This comes at the end of the driest summer in recorded history, with rainforests in northern Ainin only receiving an average of 67 mm (2.6 in) of rain per month against a yearly average of 77 mm (3.2 in). Rainfall levels have decreased so dramatically that the urban forests of Talon and northern Linaque, including the famous Citadelle-des-Collines—Monts-d’Annabeth National Park, no longer meet the technical definition of a rainforest -- which is defined by climatologists as a forest where median monthly rainfall exceeds 60 mm (2.4 in).

Experts credit this dramatic decrease in part to the "La Niña" phenomenon that has also been responsible for severe heat waves in Namor in recent years. However, they also cite accelerating climate change as a result of heavy atmospheric pollution as a contributing factor, leading to renewed calls for a comprehensive international agreement on carbon emissions. Foreign Minister Remy Micheaux recently lent his voice in support of this goal, expressing hopes that the Esquarian Community could lead by example and act on the matter.

Emergency planners are bracing as the heat wave is expected to put a severe strain on Ainin's power grid and lead to several fatalities among vulnerable groups such as the elderly and young children. Hospitals in Huimont have also begun to recall employees from vacation in preparation for the predicted influxes, while school boards in Isle-Royale and Ponant have requested permission from the national Education Ministry to cancel classes for at least a week. The planners of the Huimont Marathon, scheduled for 20 September, have reportedly postponed the event until October.

Civil defence officials are asking residents of areas affected by the heat wave to abstain from intense physical activity outdoors for more than 45 minutes. They advise residents to drink at least 300 mL (10 oz) of water every two hours and stock up on bottled water in the unlikely event of trouble with water treatment systems. Residents are also advised to stock up on ready-to-eat non-perishable food and reminded that outdoor barbeques and the use of water on lawns are prohibited by emergency decree in Isle-Royale, Saltèrne-Détroit, Ponant and five regions of Risagne.

In case of emergency, please call 999. For non-emergency health or welfare concerns, please call the local social services commission at 1142-021.

ARMY ARRESTS DRUG SMUGGLERS, KILLS ONE

Posted on: 17 September 2016
14h42

In a daring raid today carried out by the Republican Army has resulted in the arrests of dozens of individuals with explicit connections to international drug smuggling rings that operate within our nation's borders. The operation went underway last night after months of investigaiton and cooperation with the Kamch Police Service. The Republican Army and Police Service quickly surrounded the small set of complexes at which a meeting was supposedly taking place with several key drug-smuggling figures. The buildings were surrounded and a room by room searched was commenced.

During the search one of the men, later identified to be a Luziycan citizen attempted to fire on the soldiers searching the area, and he was swiftly eliminated with no injury to our marksmen in the Republican Army. The rest of the men, of whoms citizenship has not yet been revealed are currently undergoing intense interrogation at the hands of the Kamch Police Service in order to once and for all eliminate the menace to Kamch society, that is drug abuse.

When asked for comment, President-General Simon Denisov stated, "I am pleased with the results of the operation carried out by the army today, and am glad to report that there is one less scumbag smuggler plaguing the streets of Kamchastkia, today."

Xiaodong election 2016 - Regeneration Society lose majority as opposition makes gains
By Fu Bingbing

Image
Voters casting their ballots in Minqin

In an electoral upset in Xiaodong, the ruling Xiaodong Regeneration Society has lost its majority in the State Presidium for the first time since 1934, with its share of the vote falling behind the opposition United Democratic Appeal in the most closely contested election ever in Xiaodong. With the highest turnout in a democratic Xiaodongese election with 37,640,080 voters casting ballots (70.7% of the registered electorate), the Electoral Commission has announced that the results so far indicate that the Xiaodong Regeneration Society have polled with 13,926,829 (37%) votes in the single-member districts and 13,512,788 (35.9) votes in the multi-member districts giving them 100 seats, 8 short of a majority. The UDA polled 14,227,949 (37.8%) votes in single member districts and 14,416,148 (38.3%) in multi member districts, but only got 89 seats. The Alliance for Democracy scored a surprise 5,947,132(15.8%) votes in single member districts and 5,984,772 (15.9%) in multi member districts getting 16 seats.

The collapse of the Xiaodong Regeneration Society's vote can be attributed to a mix of corruption scandals, the ongoing bank stock crisis and the party's infighting between factions supporting former First Minister Yuan Xiannian and factions opposed to his rule. However, with no clear winner of the elections the task of forming a government will be difficult. No party has indicated that it will support a Xiaodong Regeneration Society government, whilst the UDA's pact with the Alliance would be 3 seats short of a majority.

The fractured nature of smaller opposition parties means that the UDA leader Hu Wenjuan will find it difficult to form a viable coalition government, whilst the Xiaodong Regeneration Society suffers from having no parties support its continued governance. As such, the building of a majority government will be extremely difficult, unless the Xiaodong Regeneration Society opt to govern as a minority government or hold fresh elections once a new State Chairperson is elected next month.

The full results are as follows -
Image
▉▉ - Xiaodong Regeneration Society - 100 seats (Up 64)
▉▉ - People's Party - 60 seats (Up 32)
▉▉ - Alliance For Democracy - 16 seats (Up 16)
▉▉ - Progressive Party - 10 seats (Up 3)
▉▉ - Duljunese Democratic Party - 5 seats (No change)
▉▉ - New Frontier Party - 8 seats (Up 3)
▉▉ - Social Democratic League - 8 seats (Up 5)
▉▉ - Independents - 8 seats (Up 5)

Petition to reform electoral alliance laws gain steam, approval by the Legislature
Speaker Shadar Kabari confirmed he received a letter today at his office, along with his three co-Speakers. Inside was a petition, signed by around 30,000 people, calling for the reform of electoral alliance laws in Pisdara. Currently, electoral alliances act as a unified bloc, in which all parties are placed as a single spot on the ballot. Many feel this is unfair, citing the fact that ten political parties are officially in the Legislature, many of them with only one seat and very little public support. Examples include the Pisdari-Arab Sovereignty Alliance, 21st Century Pisdara, and Forward, Pisdara! Those petitioning the government wish to switch to a system which would see political parties appearing on the ballot separately. Essentially, parties would now have to work to gain a seat.

Surprisingly, the Legislature today quickly approved the petition, 18-5, and a referendum on the matter will occur in three days’ time. It is expected to pass the public vote, and become law. If it does, the new electoral changes will be made in the 2018 legislative election.

Speaker Naram-Sin found unconscious at home, rushed to Aininian hospital
Speaker and leader of the New Pisdari Liberation Front Baba Naram-Sin was found unconscious today in his home. The Speaker was found by his son at around 8 AM. The seventy-nine year old politician was collapsed next to his stove, in which it is assumed he was making breakfast. Local clinic staff were hastily called, and Naram-Sin was rushed first to Ashuragar Clinic before currently being transported to Huimont, Ainin for more extensive treatment.

Naram-Sin has publically suffered from Alzheimer's disease for most of his political life, first acknowledging it in 2007 on his 70th birthday. His family doctor, Dr. Anu Kur, has confirmed Mr. Naram-Sin’s health has significantly deteriorated since he became one of four Speakers in June. Staffers and interns at the Legislature have also confirmed this. Dr, Kur has stated he fears Naram-Sin’s Alzheimer’s may have entered its later stages, and with his age, it may be fatal. However, Dr. Kur has asked for us to not speculate on anything until doctors in Ainin confirm so.

Until Mr. Naram-Sin has recovered, his position as Head of the Committee on the Environment and Labour will be filled by fellow Speaker Shadar Kabari as Acting Head, and his role as leader of the New Pisdari Liberation Front will be filled by his son Mashda Naram-Sin.

REPORT ON JAITUNA HIGHLIGHTS "WORRYING VIOLATIONS"
Jaituna in "sanitation crisis", says Ocelot Isles post-investigation report
Date: September 18, 2016

Image
View of Jaituna outskirts, pictured 2015
The Ministry of Health of the Ocelot Isles released a report following a health inspection in the settlement of Jaituna. Minister of Health Richard Ellk held a press conference to discuss the report, which claimed that the Shudri outpost was in a "sanitation crisis".

According to the 500-page report, the investigation to which Pavonistade contributed found a "lack of adherence to Ocelotian health guidelines" by health facilities. The report stated that factors leading to the issue include "inadequate equipment and staff" and "insufficiently-trained personnel," although health facilities in Jaituna hold staff to a high standard.

It is also noted that Sinhakese or Lombardian health guidelines seemed to be adopted instead, either of which are thought to not have been properly adapted to respond to viral hemorrhagic fevers such as Toloupum fever. Minister Ellk believed "it is possible to say that by failing to integrate Ocelotian medical standards into the local health care system [...], the community of Jaituna was not at all prepared to handle cases involving the Toloupum fever disease or other severe illnesses."

The Ministry of Health report that during the investigation, it was discovered that a "substantial percentage [>10%] of health facilities fail to observe standard precautions for biomedical wastes." There were several instances in which the investigation team accessed such discarded wastes in Jaituna without much difficulty. The report documented that this can be a hazard for people not exercising adequate caution, particularly those that dumpster dive.

Though the report identified numerous other flaws in the health care and sanitation system of Jaituna, it acknowledged that the source of Toloupum fever - leading to the cases of Mihai and Nadja Schmit - should have originated from elsewhere. It was not previously known that several weeks before the Schmits became symptomatic, they visited the tropical forests in the interior of the Western Ocelot Island, where certain primates may carry the Toloupum fever virus. It was originally believed that the Schmits contracted the virus within Jaituna.

Minister Ellk declared, "It is an almost-certain situation that Mihai and Nadja Schmit were infected during their visit to the Western Ocelotian tropical forests, but the medical circumstances in the settlement could have fostered further infections. [...] It was fortunate that even with worrying violations of health standards, no other cases in Jaituna are reported. Should similar violations and possible illnesses resonate across other dastas, the opportunity would be set for a public health concern"

In addition to highlighting the varying problems in Jaituna, the report ruled out the possiblity that the Toloupum fever outbreak was a result of bioterrorism. Sinhakese president Johannes Sikari alleged that a Katranjian umbrella was used to infect the Shudri couple with Toloupum fever. But as indicated earlier, the virus may have been contracted during the visit to the tropical forests.

The health inspection team in Jaituna was made to be multinational so as to minimize "unilateral efforts." It consisted of 15 personnel, five from Luziyca, five from Ocelot Isles and five from Pavonistade. The inspection was ordered by the Ministry of Health after Sinhakese president Sikari claimed Jaituna was a "clean and thriving Sinhakese city", a response to early allegations that unsanitary conditions existed in Jaituna.

To reassure people that may be alarmed by the Toloupum fever outbreak, there are no new cases since doctor Kyle Callossa tested positive for the disease on September 10.

Criticism mounts against Dasta Andolana following reports
Image
Orsu Bhalu: kingmaker of the Presidency?

PRASANTA - With the release of the multinational report detailing "worrying violations" of Ocelotian healthcare regulations within Jaituna, criticism has mounted against Johannes Sikari and the Dasta Andolana.

The report
According to the PAN, health facilities saw a "lack of adherence to Ocelotian health guidelines" by Ocelotian health facilities. In addition, major factors leading to the issue include "inadequate equipment and staff" and "insufficiently-trained personnel," although health facilities in Jaituna hold staff to a high standard.

Sinhakese and Lombardian health guidelines seemed to have been adopted instead, neither of which were adapted to respond to viral hemorrhagic fevers. Thus, according to Health Minister Minister Ellk believed "it is possible to say that by failing to integrate Ocelotian medical standards into the local health care system [...], the community of Jaituna was not at all prepared to handle cases involving the Toloupum fever disease or other severe illnesses."

In addition, a "substantial percentage [>10%] of health facilities fail to observe standard precautions for biomedical wastes," but it also ruled out the infection was acquired from the dasta. However, poor medical standards have resulted in a public health and safety risk, and it could threaten to spread to other dastas.

Notably, bioterrorism was ruled out, which was alleged by President Sikari.

The response in the legislature
Former President Helga Duta and leader of the Labour Party tabled a bill in the requesting a "joint investigation of the Dasta Andolana and top executives of the organization by the Sinhakese National Police and the Ocelotian Ministry of the Interior," alleging that the "health violations in the dastas" and Sikari's violation of the April 2 Deal (to maintain the dastas) is merely the "tip of the iceberg."

The bill passed the House of Representatives with 242 votes in favor, six votes against, one abstention, and one absence.

In addition, Sinhakese Finance Minister Orso Bhalu of the Nationalist Party has also tabled a bill to have a vote of no confidence, stating that "his [Sikari's] conflict of interest as the heads of both this Shudri nation and of the Dasta Andolana means that he is unable to effectively run the nation. If Sikari cannot maintain good living standards in the dastas, then I have doubts that he can make Sinhako better."

Orso Bhalu thus explained, "Thus, I am betraying the President, not because I dislike him, but because it is for the good of Sinhako."

If Orsu's bill passes, then Sikari will be forced to call another election, and he may be liable to lose his position as President.

The response from President Sikari
In his capacity as leader of the Dasta Andolana, Johannes Sikari released a public statement stating that "these reports concerning the so-called 'unsanitary' conditions in Jaituna are untrue. While there are some minor issues, they are to be expected when we are developing the infrastructure. As they get more developed, conditions are likely to improve [in the dastas], so by 2025, the dastas will be up to par with Sinhako and the Ocelot Islands."

Sikari also defended the usage of Sinhakese and Lombardian health codes as opposed to Ocelotian health codes, explaining that "Ocelotian healthcare does not use modern standards that we in Sinhako are used to. They focus more on traditional medicine, while we focus on modern medicine."

However, in order to assauge concerns, President Sikari declared to the Sinhakese Senate that "we promise that we will update Sinhakese health codes to deal with Toloupum fever, so when it hits us, we'll be ready for the next one."

However, when news of criticism broke out against Sikari's government, in addition to a threatened vote of no confidence led by the Finance Minister, Sikari said that "I must stay on as leader of the Dasta Andolana and of Sinhako. I am the voice for the Shudri who have chosen to head to the front line and protect our nation. And as long as we face continued hostility from the Ocelotians, we cannot afford to integrate the dastas into Sinhako itself. But we cannot afford to give up these strategic points and expose ourselves to further terrorist attacks."

On the streets
A survey taken earlier today has shown that Sikari's approval rating has fallen to 12% compared to 63% at the start of August.

In the main square in Prasanta, a protest rally was organized, demanding that Sikari step down from the Dasta Andolana and the Presidency, and to face investigation. Around 10,000 protesters gathered, chanting and carrying signs reading "SIKARI JANAIPARCHA!" (Sikari must go). Some carried signs criticizing the Dasta Andolana, with some demanding that the dastas be returned to the Ocelot Isles, and some demanding that they be integrated into Sinhako proper.

Another opinion poll, done by the Anti-DA Committee shows that in regards of the dastas, 44% of those surveyed wanted them to be returned to the Ocelot Isles, 47% wanted them to be integrated into Sinhako, and 8% are undecided or chose not to answer the question. Only 1% support the continued existence of the DA.

36 sacrifice themselves as water crisis deepens

Image

A couple walk through what was the pond of the Kanshahr e Padan in Borazjan.

19/09/16 13.15 pm

The state is to explore "emergency measures" in face of worsening water shortages in northern Ankoren, after the Ministry of Health confirmed at least 36 patriotic citizens have died as a result of dehydration. The Ministry of Health stated that all 36 citizens were elderly and allowed themselves to be consumed by dehydration so that their grandchildren could drink what water their families had gathered. Prime Minister Qassem Akbari has announced that permanent pipelines will be constructed to transport millions of gallons of drinking water from the south to the north, as well as a further $50 million grant for engineers and scientists to find lasting solutions.

The provinces of Dalkırmaz, Zahedan, Uşakyan, western portions of Yatağan and the Kuzey Yassı have reported "severe water shortages", the crisis has been owed to an unnaturally hot summer, something shared with Ainin which has reported a crisis level heatwave. The north of the Union suffers from water shortages annually, due to declining aquifers and historic over-use of lakes and underground rivers for irrigation and industry. The Ministry of Health reported that 28 of those who passed where located in northern Uşakyan and eastern Zahedan, with the remainder being reported in the other affected areas. All 36 were reportedly elderly citizens who chose to not drink water for the sake of their family's grandchildren, this has been a constant in the arid north since the Ashura Revolution - in line with the revolution's teachings of sacrifice for the greater good of the State, leading State President Volkan to call them unsung heroes of the revolution on state radio today.

Northern and eastern Zahedan along with the Kuzey Yassı are considered the driest areas in the Union by the State Commission for Water Resources and Desertification. The SCWRD denounced the policies of previous state governments during the 1960s through to the 1980s for being "irresponsible with regards to aquifers", at least two major aquifers in the Kuzey Yassı and eastern Zahedan were pumped completely dry during the early 1990s to supply the pistachio industry and irrigate farmland - 253 million cubic feet of water has been lost according to the SCWRD. The water shortages in the north has also accelerated desertification, with 256,000 hectares being lost a year in eastern Ankoren.

The Ministry of Health has reported that 1,535 people across all affected provinces have been hospitalised due to water shortages, whilst the Minister for Industry, Hamid Taşdemir has stated that he may order all state owned enterprises operating in the most stricken regions to close to allow employees to remain at home. All schools are set to close on Wednesday to keep the students safe from the heat.

Following news of the fatalities, Prime Minister Akbari called for a "Emergency Response Meeting" of senior government officials, the senior leadership of the SCWRD, specialists from the Balıkesim Institute for Environmental Studies and scientists from the State Institute for Hydrology. A spokesman for the state confirmed that the "ERM" had been in serious discussion for over six hours, with the "Prime minister demanding from the attendees a swift and lasting response to the water crisis in our nation's honourable north". The ERM agreed that an immediate response would be the construction of a large pipeline from Gemlik province to central Zahedan, where smaller pipelines will then distribute water to the east of the province, as well as the Kuzey Yassı, Uşakyan, Dalkırmaz, whilst a smaller pipeline will transport water from Dalaman province north to Yatağan. The two projects will cost $2.5 billion and take an estimated three years to complete.

The ERM recognised three years will not offer immediate assistance and respite to the parched regions, leading the ERM to request the Ankoreni National Air Force to transport full water tanks to key areas in the affected regions. The Ankoreni National Army will also be tasked with transporting water supplies by road to the hardest hit areas. Whilst the Popular Assistance Foundation, will be transporting thousands of bottled water by road and rail to affected regions.

Senior Supreme Cleric Ali Akbar Khorsani is set to visit Şarkөy, the provincial capital of Uşakyan tomorrow. Supreme Cleric Khorsani has been a prominent voice on the water shortage issue, proclaiming the need for northern Ankorenis to recognise the "limits of the Earth and to recognise that frugality over water will ease the strain". All three senior Clerics on the State Council produced a joint statement urging citizens in the north to preserve, reminding them that the water crisis is the will of Allah and a test for them, for the revolution and the Union.

Junior Supreme Cleric Ali Tandoğan gave a sermon on Friday in which he proclaimed the water crisis and the war against the terrorist movement in Irvadistan as "dual tests of our faith in both Islam and to the revolution, we only overcome one by overcoming the other - we must overcome this water crisis to ensure we overcome the threat of apostates and the takfiri threat in Irvadistan, lest we allow one or the other to consume us."
Other organisations and even private companies have volunteered their services, domestic airline Kuzey-Güney has announced that its flights to Zahedan and the Kuzey Yassı will carry as many bottles of water as possible, whilst the Union Rail Corporation will be reducing the number of passenger carriages in order to replace them with frieght carriages to carry water; both moves have been praised by State President Volkan as "evidence of the revolution's spirit".

We will keep this story updated as it develops.

Referendum 2016: Republicans Advocates "Hit Streets"
Pae Yong Chol, The Freyhillian | Posted: 21 September 2016 18:03 FEST| International

Advocates Protest at Commonwealth Square, Goldglass.

- (Goldglass, Freyhill) Advocates of the Commonwealth Republican Movement (CRM) have hit Commonwealth Square to campaign for an “Independent, Strong Commonwealth - Free of Tuthinan Interference”, with Police Officials believing that up to 25,000 Citizens are in the proximity of the home of Commonwealth Politics. Situated in Central Goldglass, Commonwealth Square is the central plaza between the Commonwealth Diet, numerous Commonwealth Government Agencies and Borcho House - with the so called “advocacy” bringing immense pain to Emergency Services.

The Republic Backed Protests come 10 days before the Commonwealth votes on its future, with the Commonwealth either becoming a Republic or remaining a Constitutional Monarchy on October 1, 2016. Despite the Commonwealth Government merging the Head of State and Head of Government into the Prime Minister, the general public of the nation remain to support becoming a Republic, with 51% of participants on the latest CommPoll Republican NewsPoll agreeing that we should “ditch the Monarch in the Home Islands”.

Looking Further, Political Editor Ma Chi Won believes that stronger Prime Ministership would equal a more unified Commonwealth Government - something analysts have stated for numerous years that Freyhillians wish. Regardless, the Commonwealth Republican Movement (CRM) has been picking up momentum whilst Constitutional Monarchist Prime Minister Mats Lundgren has been in Daecon on his first official state visit. Editor Ma Chi Won also stated that the Constitutional Monarchist camp must “reorganise and re-evaluate” its campaign if they wish to have a chance of defeating the likely chance of the Commonwealth turning into a Republic.

Xiangmen preview
Terrorism, environment, trade, disarmament key issues in 3rd Esquarian Summit
September 21, NMR 2380

XIANGMEN, MINJIAN - Starting October 1, world leaders will convene in the Minjianese regional capital of Xiangmen for the 3rd Esquarian Summit to discuss key issues facing Esquarium. This is the first time the People's Republic of Namor will host an international summit of leaders.

Minjian upgrades security as leaders arrive

In collaboration with the central government, regional authorities have sealed off the Minjian Regional Convention Center and large parts of Xiangmen's business district to ensure a safe and smooth summit.

Thousands of city residents have been relocated to other parts of the city, forcing certain shops to close down, said Xiangmen mayor Lin Chuanyang.

"Terrorism has never been a major concern here," he said during a pre-summit press conference.

Minjian President Li Jiading has affirmed authorities' ability to ensure a safe summit. "Obviously, this is a very important summit and very important people will be in Xiangmen for some time. Knowing this, Minjian has poured in everything available to keep things safe. We're working with security officials in Namo, whose job is to confirm any suspicions we have."

Faces to watch in the summit

The leaders of 15 permanent member states of the summit, plus the President of the Esquarian Community, will be in attendance.
Image

Besides common leaders like President-General Antelope, Luziycan President Sera Svensson and Aininian Prime Minister Marianne de Lotbinière, the summit will also feature leaders who rarely appear in front of foreign cameras, such as Teutonia's Friedrich Ulrich and Tuthina's regent Anteko.

Leaders who are not part of the permanent group of nations but were invited to this summit include Aucuria's Pantaleimonas Uspelevičius, Daecon's Timothy Harris, Freyhill's Mats Lundgren, Pisdara's Jean-Claude Hervé Bouchard, West Cedarbrook's Issac Feld and Xiaodong's Xi Yao-tong.

For many attendants, this is their first time on Namorese soil.

In Namor, many eyes are focused on a one-to-one meeting between President-General Antelope and Luziyca's Svensson, which will be the first between the two leaders since both came to office. It will also be the third Namo-Luziycan summit after the Wolf-Shjoraski summit in 2013 and the Fu-Shjoraski summit in 2014.

However, the meeting will only last around half an hour long. Executive House officials have hinted that few major breakthroughs will be reached in comparison to past summits, although the President-General will use the meeting to discuss a joint disarmament of biological and chemical weapons - a key issue in the summit.

Asked if the status of occupied Nantai will be brought up in the talks, a spokesperson for the President-General said "too many big questions still exist on the Luziycan regime's intentions for productive discussion on the Nantai question to occur."

What to discuss?

Officials said the summit as a whole will discuss at length the issues of terrorism, climate change, trade and chemical weapons disarmament.

With the "Caliphate" terrorist organization continuing to wreak havoc in Nautasia and its leadership still at large, some leaders are seeking more cooperation between states already engaged in the anti-Caliphate fight. President-General Antelope has noted "petty conflicting interests" and their potential to thwart the anti-Caliphate fight and called for a "comprehensive, single-minded counter-terrorist initiative."

Climate change - an issue discussed in the last Esquarian Summit in Tuthina - will continue to be a key issue in Xiangmen. Ainin has been extremely vocal in its support for an agreement on climate change, especially as late summer heat waves continue to devastate the country.

Some analysts optimistically believe the best time to act on climate change is now.

"Some of the worst polluters in Esquarium are currently run by governments that are more willing to take steps to address the changing climate and its implications," said Xiangmen University professor Xin Nianchen. "This contrasts with before, when they were led by governments that either downplayed climate change or suggested inadequate means to tackle it."

In the meantime, Xin warned of populist right-wing leaders' attempts to block a comprehensive climate change agreement, especially after general elections that saw the rise of unconventional politicians, some of whom are heading to Xiangmen.

"As little as they contribute to our global carbon footprint, these countries should not be underestimated, as they may prevent the summit from reaching a consensus on the matter," he said.

One issue that hasn't been discussed in past summits is the disarmament of chemical and biological weapons.

14 countries in Esquarium are suspected or known to possess and develop both kinds of weapons. Namor is one of them. While the government has affirmed its commitment to a "Velkia Without Chemicals (VWC)" - a phrase coined by former President-General Alicia Wolf - Namor has yet to disarm, with officials in Namo hinting that disarmament cannot happen if the other regional heavyweight - Luziyca - does the same.

Seven of the 14 countries that possess chemical and biological weapons will be attending the summit, giving leaders an ideal platform to discuss disarmament. But many say an agreement may not be reached on disarmament by the end of the summit, given the attendance of several militaristic leaders.

"I don't expect Ulrich to give up his chemicals," Minister of Defense Wen Ketze said, citing the Teutonian dictator as an example of a leader who may resist the notion of disarmament. "Still, I believe an agreement between a majority of countries is possible."

Naram-Sin’s condition worsens, son says he may resign once out of hospital
Image
Speaker Baba Naram-Sin's condition has
worsened, says Aininin doctors.

Doctors in Ainin today confirmed that Speaker Baba Naram-Sin’s condition, supposedly brought on by late-stage Alzheimer’s, has considerably worsened, and that the 79-year old politician has been placed on life support. The Legislature has in turn collectively stated they wish that Naram-Sin “heals and return home to Pisdara safely”. Fellow Speaker and parliamentary ally Shadar Kabari also personally asked that the doctors taking care of Naram-Sin to keep him updated on news from the island. However, it seems not everyone is optimistic.

Naram-Sin’s son and currently acting leader of the New Pisdari Liberation Front, Mashda, stated to news outlets after returning from a visit to his father’s hospital in Huimont yesterday that the nomadic rights activist may not be able to resume his duties if he returns from Ainin. “Dad’s always been a fighter, but he’s older now, and I fear if he returns to his normal routine when he gets back that it could make things even worse.” The junior Naram-Sin clarified that his father’s condition is dire, and that even if he survives this episode, he would not be able to endure the responsibilities of leader of the GSUP or even a deputy. “We’re hoping for the best, and God willing he makes a recovery”, Mashda added, “but I fear we have to be realistic.”

Progressives, Liberals to join during special conference
After three months of rather hushed questioning by some political analysts, Speaker and leader of the Pisdari Progressive Party Jean-Claude Herve Bouchard confirmed tonight that his moderate right grouping will finally merge with the Liberal Party of Pisdara to form a new party. The announcement came as a bit of a surprise to supporters of both parties, but the signs for the unification of the right were there since July.

In the leadership election of the Liberal Party of Pisdara, deputy Robert Boissieu beat out opponent Enmerkar Ibnatum for the position of head of the party, running on a promise to talk to the Progressive Party about uniting the centre-right into a single group. The Progressives in turn agreed with the idea, at least in passing and in private conversation, until September. The beginning of this month saw the rather dramatic split of the Social Democratic Farmers’ Party from the Social Democracy of Pisdara, a possible large blow to the centre-left if feeling aren’t amended by the next election in 2018. Boissieu thought that this was the chance to see a strong centre-right opposition form, and officially proposed a union with the Progressives in private talks with Herve Bouchard last week. Both men came to an agreement, leading to today’s announcement.

The two leaders have confirmed the new party, the Pisdari Reform Party, will officially come into being during a special conference tomorrow afternoon. Along with the Progressive and Liberal leadership will be the smaller Popular Action Party and Liberal Patriots of Pisdara, who have agreed to join the new party. However, questions still remain about how the Reform Party will function in the Legislature. The big tent United Coalition for Independence, which the Progressives are currently a member of, will grow by one new deputy with the merger of the Liberal grouping into its fold, but the growth of the conservative branch of the alliance may concern the more reformist and left-wing parties in the United Coalition. This may also change United’s relationship with the Social Democracy of Pisdara, which has tended to support the coalition as a way to block the nationalist Patriotic Front from enacting its many proposals. Whichever way the Reform Party goes, interesting things will surely develop.

Imam Khorsani prays for Esquarium Summit's success at Friday Prayers

Image

Imam Ali Akbari Khorsani addressing the faithful during Friday prayers today

23/09/16 13.15 pm

Senior Supreme Cleric Ayatollah Ali Akbar Khorsani has offered his prayers for the Third Esquarium Summit in Xiangmen, Namor. Speaking during Friday prayers in Zahedan, he wished Prime Minister Qassem Akbari the "strength and resilience to ensure that this summit culminates in great cooperation for the benefit of all humanity", he stressed to those present that the Prime Minister has strength to "ensure that Nautasia and the Union remain present in every topic discussed, to do otherwise would reject this opportunity to present the Union as the undeniable voice of the continent" he said. The Imam also praised the sacrifice of the Union's military as 600 families have reportedly returned to their homes in liberated southern Irvadistan.

Following prayers, as per tradition the Imam used the opportunity to address key political issues in a speech, Friday's topic was that of the upcoming Xiangmen Summit, he stressed that the Summit offered the Union a unique opportunity to present itself as a mature, capable and dependable regional power in Nautasia, saying with confidence that "Prime Minister Qassem Akbari, God be with him, has the strength not only to present the Summit with the Union's opinions and positions, but also prove that it is a mature, capable and dependable regional power, but also that it is the legitimate voice of the continent" he said.

"The issues that will be raised, affect all of humanity, be it takfiri terrorism; which respects no creed, no border or people, climate change which threatens every nation on this planet and of course, global economic issues, which must be solved if mankind is abandon the inequality that afflicts it. God willing, the Prime Minister will have the strength and resilience to ensure that the Summit culminates in solutions that benefit all of mankind and not a select few" he said further.

Imam Khorsani however offered criticism towards some of the nations that will be attending the summit, saying "there are countries in attendance however, that will seek to ensure that their narrow interests win out, especially in confrontation of takfiri terrorism and this supposed campaign to rid the world of chemical and biological weapons; why do they do this? Because they intend to entrench their positions, to ensure that no other nation can make advances or ensure their abilities to defend their people and sovereignty is weakened. There will be countries in attendance that will use the fight against takfiri terrorism in our region to forward their agenda and continue to undermine the popular sovereignty of Kraq and Irvadistan; we pray unto God the benevolent to grant Prime Minister Akbari the foresight to confront such criminal intentions" he said to a cheering crowd.

Prime Minister Akbari for his part addressed the Union Congress on Friday revealing his intentions for the summit; on the matter of climate change the Prime Minister revealed that he would argue for any deal to be respectful of the developing world, "I will present to the Summit the case for respect of the developing world; since it is the advanced economies that contribute the greater majority of emissions, we must ensure that the developing world is not crippled by unfair conditions. We all know that the developing world through the facts and reality of economics, must utilise cheaper forms of energy and heavier forms of economic productivity to grow, to place barriers and conditions on this fact would be unforgiveable and unacceptable and I will make that perfectly clear to my international colleagues."

On the takfir terrorism issue, Prime Minister Akbari will make clear the Union's opposition to the continued presence of non-Muslim and non-Nautasian ground forces in Irvadistan, saying to Congress "I will make clear the position, we took in this chamber that the continued presence of non-Muslim and non-Nautasian ground forces in Irvadistan and Kraq will be a continued detriment to the fight against takfiri extremism, the presence of such forces is their greatest recruitment tool and unless this changes, the Sunnis of Nautasia will still be viewing the continued foreign presence as a reason to succumb to takfirism." Whilst the Union opposes the presence of foreign ground troops, the assistance offered through air support is something the Union wants to expand upon not infringe. "I will ask for major world powers to do more in the air, to increase their capacities against the takfiri terrorists, by destroying the so-called Caliphate's financial and military infrastructure will ensure their ultimate destruction and weaken their ability to oppose our indomitable forces" he said.

The Union Congress pledged in written statement to support Prime Minister Akbari in his efforts, whilst he is abroad, Deputy Prime Minister Ahment Turgan will assume his responsibilities.

In his speech, Imam Khorsani also praised the sacrifices and successes of the AUSK, after 600 families returned to their homes in southern Irvadistan after two years spent in Ankoreni refugee camps. He said "We are now witnessing the slow progression towards a re-populated and free southern Irvadistan, it should fill us all with joy that our forces are returning homes to innocents displaced by the terror and heresy of the takfiri. We praise our forces everyday and every night, without them no such success could be reported. We must ask God almighty for continued victory and guidance, for the salvation of the millions living within our borders."

Prime Minister Akbari is expected to arrive in Xiangmen by early morning tomorrow.

ImageBUDGET SURPLUS PRESENTED AMONGST GRONCHER ROW

26 September 2016 Last updated 16:04 Caitic Standard Time

Image
Finance Minister Leah Rowe admitted that the SDP had 'misjudged' the situation seven years ago

Finance Minister Leah Rowe has presented the 2016-17 government budget to the National Assembly, amongst calls of hypocrisy from the KMP regarding the controversial re-privatisation of Groncher Bank.

Ms Rowe claimed in her statement that the surplus, just K2.75bn (0.7% of GDP) but the first since 2005, represented the "undeniable success" of the government's stimulus policies over the past five and a half years, and that the SDP had achieved a "significant turnaround" from the recession of 2008-10.

The main announcements included the cutting of income tax for small businesses and low earners, and a boost in spending on education and healthcare support for those on low incomes. The Progressive Democrats have said that they "will guarantee" that the announcements, which will be honoured over the course of next year. However, most of the recovery programmes introduced by Sommerfelt's government in 2011 will end, due to them "having achieved their goal."

Ms Rowe also stated what the government expected to do with the surplus revenue. Half of it will be used to repay public debt, currently at 40.4% of GDP, whereas the rest will be stored in an "emergency fund" in case of unforeseen events. This has been received positively by nearly all parties at Hurgahagen Castle, with Opposition Finance Spokesperson Gustav Loffen saying in response that he welcomed "the government's willingness to take responsibility
for the public debt it has saddled on the country" but was less so about the recent re-privatisation of Groncher Bank, saying "it is ironic that the SDP rubbishes what we did seven years ago and then takes credit for the profits," referring to the original nationalisation by the KMP government in 2008. The government sold off its majority shares in five stages between October 2015 and May 2016, with most of the sale funding the surplus.

In Ms Rowe's closing statements to the Assembly session, she admitted that the SDP had "misjudged" the nationalisation programme in 2009, which saw Groncher, the worst of the failing banks bought by the government and others bailed out. "We felt the people had already paid enough for the Bank's bad decisions and I don't regret voting against it back then. But the KMP wanted to sell it off after just three years. Madame Premier, on the other hand, ensured it wasn't until we had broken even on the costs."

Various figures across both main parties have clashed over the Groncher Bank issue, even former Premier Jens Raukebak, but otherwise the reaction to the budget has been positive. The Kruld and the stock exchange made small gains in the hours after the budget, as a sign the country's economic woes are now long behind it. But it isn't all sunshine and rainbows for Caithaven, as growth figures have stagnated this year, which economists have warned is a sign that the government can't count their chicks yet.

BETRAYAL - How Luziyca sold us out to the communists
By Korrakot Sukkaew

Image

Democracy has been finally destroyed in Caona. It took time for the process to develop - first in the declaration of a People's Union in 1951, which has since slowly spread its tentacles across Caona and its people, instituting totalitarian communist governance across our nation. That is, however, to be expected - communists wherever it appears seeks to replace democracy and self governance with collectivist dictatorship. But, especially from the 1990's, the people of Caona in the Phikam islands have been able to rely on Luziyca to protect their democratic rights. That is, until now. Today, the Congress of Luziyca will ratify the "Rakkiatgym-Svensson Treaty" after minimal debate that will hand the Communist Party of Kaona the last territories of free Caona, the Phikam islands, without even consulting the Caonese people.

To put this into context - in July 2016 the Luziycan and communist Caonese governments agreed to launch bilateral relations after over 60 years of Luziyca recognising the free Dominion of Caona. This recognition resulted in the liberal-leftist administration of Sera Svensson to give the communists Phikam - without consulting the Phikamese people - in exchange for Luziycan businesses to be given access to cheap mainland labour. This decision is fundamentally undemocratic - Svensson did not include this in her campaign for president, nor was in put to the Caonese parliament or the Luziycan Congress. Prime Minister Nongchai Khaopa was consulted only late in the process, and was effectively marginalised in negotiations.

To be sure, Svensson did indicate when she was elected that she would "pledge to make Luziyca a world peacekeeper, not a world police officer". This should have sent alarm bells to Khaopa, as traditionally such dovish language translates to appeasement with dictatorships. If Svensson wanted to truly uphold democracy and create a working relationship with the communist government she could have followed the principled pragmatism of her predecessor, Breuvi Shjoraski, who was able to lead détente with the Namorese People's Republic whilst rejecting the clearly unacceptable "Three Conditions" policy of Namo that, like Kaona, wanted to annex territory under Luziycan protection (in that case, Nantai). Clearly though, Svensson's enthusiasm to hand Phikam to the communists betrays two facts - that for Luziyca Phikam, a mere dominion, is less important than a constituent republic like Nantai and that Svensson is abdicating from Luziyca's role as a protector of free-market liberal democracy to instead suck up to collectivist dictatorships.

Some would claim this move isn't appeasement, but a shrewd economic move to improve the standard of living both in Luziyca and Caona. But such talk is nonsense. The Luziycan government has not put any pressures on the communist government to pursue serious economic reform. The mainland may have low labour costs, but most industry remains state controlled. Taxes are high. Losses incurred from state farms and industries are subsidised. A bloated system of welfare, whose quality is poor, remains in place. Proper free-market reforms have not and will not be implemented, meaning that Luziycan businesses expecting to uncover a goldmine of economic opportunity on mainland Caona are woefully mistaken. In comparison, Phikam has a well established, business friendly economy with low taxes, manageable wages and an expansive financial sector, all at risk if the communists take over.

These concerns have been dismissed by some as hyperbole and scare-mongering. First Secretary Rakkiatgym, they claimed, has promised to pursue more free market reforms. But such promises are baseless. The Communist Party has a history of lying and backstabbing. In 1960, they agreed to contest in democratic elections and respect the result - yet when the democratically elected coalition government of the Union and National parties took power, the communists instead of accepting the result as they had promised restarted the Caonese War and unleashing a series of atrocities. In 1991 the Kaonese government directly violating the Phuko Ceasefire deported and imprisoned several ethnic Luziycans for the crime of being associated with Luziycan reunification (which, in the eyes of the communists was the "annexation of a democratic workers' republic into the arch-imperialist state" whilst when the communist government does the same to Phikam, is ending "imperialist occupation"). In 1998 the Kaonese government violated the Phuko Ceasefire again when it launched the Phichit Crisis. In 2004 when Lutheran Catholics were subject to a new crackdown by the communist government despite its First Secretary claiming that his government was upholding religious freedom. But like many optimistic liberals, the Svensson administration have overlooked these historical facts to cement her dovish foreign policy.

Image
Nongchai Khaopa (left) resigned today to be replaced
with his deputy, Sanoh Pakchotanon (right)
For his role in hiding the negotiations from the Caonese, Khaopa has resigned as Prime Minister. Its already been speculated that he held on either after the agreement was announced on the 13th September to attempt to persuade the Luziycan Congress via the Caonese lobby to stop the agreement being ratified in an almost kamikaze like mission. His replacement, deputy prime minister Sanoh Pakchotanon, has been given the unenviable task of transitioning Phikam from democratic to communist rule. Khaopa's resignation conforms to the common notion that political careers end in failure. A working class self made man, Khaopa came to prominence as the authoritative financial minister in the Titawasira government - it had been Khaopa who led the successful "no" campaign in the 2012 independence referendum. His forceful opposition to the inept Progressive Party government of Thanpuying Kunplome enabled him to sweep to victory in the 2014 election where he helped implement more free-market policies and continue in sponsoring Phikam's development. But his role in allowing Phikam to fall into the communists hands will forever taint his career, and will go down as one of the worst Caonese prime ministers.

His successor, Pakchotanon, will be forced to transfer sovereignty to the communist government in December 2017. Phikam will become a "socialist autonomous republic" - at least for 15 years, after which it would come under review every five years wherein the communist government may decide to end Phikam's autonomy and absorb it into the mainland. The legislature will be reduced to a single chamber in which a portion of it will be reserved for communist party members and that a new Chief Minister will be picked by the communist government. This will mean that Phikam will resemble a democracy, but it will be a farce - effectively Daeng Meuang will be pulling the strings of the so-called "elected" Phikamese government. And, typical of the communist regime, Phikam itself will be renamed "Phaonam", a term alien to most who live on these islands.

Democracy will further be crushed as the Communist Party will ban all "separatist groups". This will include the Phikamese Progressive Party - whilst we criticise the incompetence and unpatriotic nature of the PPP, their position is still welcomed in democratic debate. They could drop their advocacy for independence, but that will come with the price of giving up their key policy. Pakchotanon has called an election for December this year, but this parliament will merely oversee the end of Caonese democracy and will be in no place to maintain it.

Caona has only experienced full democracy since 1996, but that tradition will die soon. Any and every Caonese patriot should oppose this move, but realistically it will achieve nothing. The communists may have won, but it not them we should blame. We should instead direct our anger towards Luziyca - whose actions this day amount to little more than an act of betrayal.

Fighters of the Supreme Command for Jihad and Unification advancing into Kafr Buhum yesterday.

27/09/16 10.00 am

Ankoreni forces (AUSK) and associate militias under the Supreme Command for Jihad and Unification have officially cut off Habroun from supply and reinforcement, after taking Kafr Buhum and Uhm al'Kabiya, cutting the Luqya-Habroun Highway (LHH) in half. AUSK and JCJU forces took the two strategic towns north of Habroun yesterday, clearing out pockets of terrorist resistance, leaving an estimated 300 terrorists dead. Chief of Staff of the AUSK, General Burak Güven praised the victory and stated it would strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Akbari during the Esquarium Summit in Minjiang.

The AUSK's 3rd Army Corps and the SCJU's 5th Liberation Division launched their offensive from the west last week, taking numerous farms and hilltops overlooking both the towns and the LHH, they swiftly destroyed terrorist defensive lines and overran Kafr Buhum and Uhm al'Kabiya within three days. General Güven stated that terrorist forces were "vastly outnumbered and outgunned in the Kafr Buhum area, they suffered extensive losses and with ceaseless support from the National Air Force, they were unable to escape or reinforce their positions" he told reporters at the daily press conference. The Ministry of National Defence reported that 36 AUSK soldiers were martyred whilst 49 SCJU fighters were also martyred.

The MOND also reported that AUSK forces engaged and destroyed at least four terrorist operated tanks, General Güven praised the 3rd Army Corps which has been deployed in Irvadistan since the 10th May and was the primary fighting force in the south-western region, which saw the heaviest fighting of the early phase of Operation Undeniable Victory. General Güven explained that the 3rd Army Corps would now by joined by the 5th Army Corps in surrounding Habroun itself and beginning the siege of the city.

Habroun, a city home to an estimated 142,000 people (down from 250,000 prior to the city's fall to the so-called Caliphate), is strategically located in central-southern Irvadistan and is the largest urban area in the country's south - making it the greatest prize for AUSK and SCJU forces in the south of the country. It is defended by an estimated 3,000 terrorists, indicating that the battle will be the largest to take place between the terrorist movement and the liberating forces of the Union and patriotic Irvadis. Around 48,000 AUSK soldiers are in the Habroun area, supported by 12,000 SCJU fighters, the General Staff Headquarters (ACGB) has reported that a further 3,000 AUSK soldiers will be deployed against Habroun, ensuring that the terrorist stronghold will face overwhelming force.

Due to Habroun's strategic value, the city has been under constant bombardment by the National Air Force since the 10th May, whilst National Army artillery has been bombarding the city daily since July 22nd. The ACGB last week reported that over 25,000 artillery, mortar shells and rockets have been fired on Habroun, making them confident for a swift victory against the terrorist stronghold. The ACGB has regularly denounced accusations and claims that over 2,000 civilians have been killed in the city as "utter nonsense, that only aids the terrorists in their drive to corrupt the minds of vulnerable Muslims".

"As is the policy, I will not give a specific time limit or time frame for the fall of Habroun, what I will say is that we are confident in our inevitable victory. The enemy is surrounded, cut off from supply and reinforcement. We have made contact with locals who intend to assist us in certain ways, the enemy has no hope of escape or success, so I urge these men who they're listening to abandon their false Caliph, to accept the reality that their death will not result in martyrdom but righteous judgement for their sins in the name of a takfiri movement. Surrender now and save yourself" he said to the camera.

State President Evren Volkan signed a decree this morning with the full votes of the State Council, declaring the day that Habroun falls, will be the start of three days of national celebration, this will include a "Continental Mass Rally" which will involve the celebration of Nautasian cultures and identities and a "mass denouncement" where partakers will burn captured terrorist memorabilia, including portraits of the so-called Caliph, flags, magazines and non-relevant documents seized across Irvadistan by the AUSK.

General Güven stated that the cutting off of Habroun will strengthen Prime Minister Qassem Akbari's hand at the Esquarium Summit in Namor, especially on the topic of terrorism. General Güven said, "the victory north of Habroun will again show the world powers that only Ankoren and Irvadis who fight alongside our relentless armed forces have the will and ability to inflict defeats upon the so-called Caliphate, I am sure and by the grace of God almighty that our victory will strengthen his hand in having the world powers recognise Ankoren as the liberator of Irvadistan and offer their direct support in ways he will reveal at the summit.

"We should now embrace this victory as further example and evidence of our inevitable victory over terrorism, foreign occupation and interference of Nautasia, let this victory be the first big step towards Luqya and onto Concordia" he finished.

The AUSK and SCJU have begun their joint offensive with the Irvadi People's Defence Force against the terrorist held city of Hadaj in the east, the capture of Hadaj will secure the government's position in the south-west, protecting links between Ankoren and Irvadistan, easing the threat against daily aid and supply convoys arriving in Irvadistan from Ankoren.

Senate Organizes on 4th Ballot

Libertarian-Civic Alliance Selects Almagor
Veteran Parlimentarian in by 365 Votes
Image
Senate President Avrom Almagor

The Senate today in late afternoon balloting settled on Avrom Almagor, a 5 term Libertarian hailing from Honbank, North Central State as President of Senate following the September 20th elections, puting together a majority coalition of Libertarians and Civic Alliance followiing the first three ballots. Almagor, a widely respected member of the Senate and ranking Libertarian on the Appropriations Committee was nominated on the second ballot, drawing 93 votes, after which party discipline was restored and the Senate deadlocked on the third ballot. Following intense negotiations between Almagor, Libertarian Senate leader Fredick Daniels, and his Civic Alliance counterpart Genevieve Reunolds, Almagor was again put into nomination, this time with the endorsement of both leaders. The vote on the 4th ballot was 365 for Almagor, 311 for outgoing Conservative Senate President Stanislaus Douai, and 7 for the leftist Independent List leader Boleslaw Taniere. 3 Civic Alliance holdouts cast ballots for Reunolds, whild 7 Libertarians stuck with Daniels.

Mr. Almagor has collaborated frequently with President Feld during the President's Senate tenure, representing adjacent districts. He has also been crucial in shaping and guiding legislation in committee and on the Senate floor with Senator Douai, who now assumes the post of Conservative leader. Almagor is seen as a conciliator between small business oriented and labor factions of the Libertarian Party, a factor which was seen as important in attracting the votes of Civic Alliance senators. In foreign policy, he has similarly served to smooth the fissure between isolationists and regionalists in the party. It is also thought that his low key approach to Senate business will serve to allow the newly electe Civic Alliance to materialize their general approach to critical economic and development legislation, another reason why he was seen as the best compromise candidate for a coalition. With his election, Senator Daniels returns to the role of Senate Libertarian leader, and gives him wider leeway in explortation of a presidential bid in the 2017 elections.

Following certification of the vote, Senator Almagor was sworn in by Associate Justice Phillipe Rousseau of the Civil Supreme Court in his capacity as Prime Legal Adviser to the Senate.

Krol Mikolaj announces the seizing of Ethnic Jewish assets in Ionland

Sobieski - Krol Mikolaj has declared war on the Jewish banking elite of the world by announcing that the his government will begin the seizing of all assets of Ethnic Jews residing in Ionland. Subsequently, alongside the seizing of the assets, the Ethnic Jews will be deported out of Ionland to accepting nations. This would mean 100,000+ Jews would be deported and over 60% of banks residing in Ionland would be turned over to the government. Krol Mikolaj has called the Jewish Banking elite "cockroaches that infect society with their bloodthirst for money." Most banks that will be seized are not of Ionite origin are from foreign controlled banks.

The Krol cites various studies conducted by the Royal Research Institute of Sobieski which has revealed a disproportionate amount of wealth controlled in the world by Jews. The Krol has also created the Royal Orthodox Corps, a police force that is tasked to oversee the removal of Jews from various industry controlling positions be it banking, media, or factory as well. The Krol has hinted a future struggle with foreign nations over these laws stating "the world that is controlled by these people will be directed to act in horror of these laws because they have this hatred for people of nations to stand against them. They will exercise every power in their being to have the world declare war on us but I say no, the time of the financial plundering of the Ionite people is over! We must stand firm against these enemies and free ourselves from their filthy control."

Tourism has also been closed to Jews of the world, those caught entering Ionland by illegal means will face harsh criminal punishment. The Royal Bank has calculated a total of $100 Billion dollars will be seized. The Banks that are to be seized are to be put under control of the Royal Banking System and to be given to Ionite control. The Royal Bank has also planned to end the usage of paper money and to introduce a new gold standard to combat foreign currency manipulation of the Ionite Zloty.

Referendum 2016: Republicans Defeat Constitutional Monarchists
Pae Yong Chol, The Toksanese Herald| Posted: 21 September 2016 18:03 TEST| International

Young Child submitting Parent's vote on the future.

- (Hwanggum, Toksan) The Republicans have defeated the dismantled Constitutional Monarchist Campaign in a rather tight fight to determine the future of the Commonwealth, Chaeneol Yeonbang reports. Although the Commonwealth Electoral Commission is yet to announce a final result, the State Funded Chaeneol Yeongbang believes that the Republicans have secured the correct numbers in population and consenting provinces, with Political Correspondents believing that around 54% of the population had voted to sever ties with the Monarch of the Most Serene Empire of Tuthina.

The Timing of the Commonwealth Republican Referendum had been utilised by the Republican Campaign, with Prime Minister Mats Lundgren being overseas at Daecon and Namor for official diplomatic business, with the now Head of State & Government meeting with various world leaders, including Regent Anteko of the Most Serene Empire of Tuthina. Nonetheless, Prime Minister Lundgren’s absence from the Campaign route has been blamed for the Monarchist failure, with numerous correspondents creating conspiracy theories about his future as Prime Minister.

Labor Leader Ru Seung Min and One Nation’s Karolina Crusenstolpe have celebrated the Commonwealth's “Independence” from the Bureaucratic Monarch of the Most Serene Empire, with the Leader of the Opposition stating that “now was the time to sever ties with a Monarch who we don’t even know”, whereas Karolina Crusenstolpe stated that the Toksanish Commonwealth can now utilise its Sovereign Rights without interference from the Imperialistic Emperor in the Home Islands”.

Despite the Toksanish Stock Exchange (TSE) falling 6.7% after the announcement on Chaeneol Yeonbang, the Commonwealth Government has yet to issue a proper statement on these outcomes, with the Prime Minister’s Office refusing to answer to press at this time. However, Imperial Commissioner of the Reserve Bank of Toksan Tang Jeong Hun has released a statement on the success of becoming a Republic, with the incumbent of the office stating that the Reserve Bank has mobilised the Commonwealth Futures fund to utilise to ensure that a stable economy with normalised inflation remains.

”Yes” vote wins in electoral reform referendum, changes alliances
With a win of 56.12% for and 43.88% against, the public referendum asking citizens to vote on a reform to current electoral laws passed tonight. The turnout was at around 62.07% of the electorate. The referendum, the first to be petitioned and organized by citizens rather by the Legislature, will now see the structure of electoral alliances in future elections change.

Previously, electoral alliances were counted as a unified ticket (for example, both the Patriotic Front and the United Coalition were on the 2016 legislative ballot, rather than their constituent parties). That will now change however, with all future elections using a system that will require ballots to show the member parties as independents, not a single unified group. “It was confusing,” said pro-reform activist Bastien Moineau about the previous system. “Say I wanted to vote for a party in the United camp, but my favourite choice was not running in my district, but the ballot doesn’t say that”. Advocates also say the electoral reform will stop the further creation of broad big tent organizations. “Small parties got one seat in the Legislature due to the fact they were lucky in choosing their coalition rather than their own platform.” Moineau stated. “We have ten parties in the Legislature right now, and to be honest only around six or seven ultimately have the support to warrant a seat if they ran independently.”

The new changes will affect small parties in coalitions the most, as they now have to personally garner support and reach the fabled four-percent threshold typically needed for a deputy’s seat.

PROTESTERS CONGREGATE IN XIANGMEN AS ESQUARIAN SUMMIT KICKS OFF
ISOLATIONISTS TO SHOHAI: "WE'RE WATCHING YOU"
HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS SAY THE SAME TO ALL PARTICIPANTS

Two Minjianese student protesters pose for a photo
Xiangmen, Minjian - As the leaders of 21 countries plus the Esquarian Community met in the Minjianese capital of Xiangmen for the Third Esquarian Summit, protesters are making their voices heard outside of Xiangmen's business district - the site of the summit that has been shut off by authorities.

A plethora of civic groups ranging from isolationists to human rights activists congregated in Xiangmen's Democracy Square - the iconic site of the NMR 2338 "Moon Cake" protests that ushered political reform into the autonomous republic.

26 year-old Tzang Hoku from Yintosan, Southern Namor, said he drove with his friends to Xiangmen to "keep an eye" on President-General Shohai Antelope and his scheduled tete-a-tete with Luziycan President Sera Svensson, the first between the two leaders since they took office in their respective countries.

"The President-General has promised to the Namorese people that he will not sacrifice Namorese interests," he told the Mojing Sibo. "I was really worried after hearing that he will meet with Svensson. That's why I'm here - to remind our President-General to keep the promise he made to us."

"Don't be Fu Wen the second. We're watching you," he admonished when asked what message he wants to deliver to the President-General, in a reference to former President-General Fu Wen whose support for improved relations with Bethlehem sparked a backlash from the left.

The protests attracted a large number of isolationists, especially after former People's First Coalition chairman Kuo Zhang floated rumors on social media that President-General Antelope will voice support for free trade and globalism during the summit. The rumors were later refuted as untrue by the Executive House, but it did not stop isolationist protesters from demanding that the President-General take a strong stance against globalism.

Also among the protesters are activists from the White Shirts - an anti-war social justice group that made national headlines after attempting to disrupt Aininian President Cao Nima's visit to Namor in protest of the Antelope administration's support for the Esquarian Treaty Organization (ETO).

White Shirts co-leader Kai Lai, who traveled to Xiangmen ahead of the summit to protest, said he wants the summit to "abstain from war" in Nautasia, where the Caliphate continues to thrive, and to denounce ETO.

"End the killing in Nautasia. Let Nautasians solve their own problems. Pull all foreign troops out. End ETO!" he shouted through a megaphone.

Kai told the press his group had tried to charge the limousine of Aininian Prime Minister Marianne de Lotbinière, but were stopped by police before they could reach the street that Lotbinière's limousine passed through.

"I don't oppose the conference, but I am opposed to the conference being used as a forum to support warmongering," he told the Mojing Sibo. "The attending leaders should talk about how to bring peace to Nautasia. We need more peace and love in this world, not more war. Hopefully somebody brings this up at the summit."

Human rights activists who joined the fray in Democracy Square have demands of their own.

Activists protested the deal between Luziyca and Kaona,
which saw the two countries agree to transfer Phikam to
Communist Kaonese control

Activists from the Esquarian Human Rights Monitor (EHRM) protested the presence of dictators in the Third Esquarian Summit, including Teutonia's Friedrich Ulrich and Koyro's Ohanka Jon Bak-su. They also had axe to grind with Nevanmaa's Prime Minister Tuomas Hyvarinen, whom they charge with continuing Nevanmaa's notorious racial laws.

"So long as bloodthirsty tyrants are in Xiangmen, no real solution on terrorism and human rights can be achieved," activist Jin Tuosan, head of EHRM's Minjian branch said. "We strongly urge the President-General to make the preservation and promotion of human rights the number one task in his agenda. Those who disregard human dignity are not welcome in Xiangmen."

A small group of activists also convened to protest Luziyca's decision to establish formal diplomatic relations with Communist Kaona. Bethlehem, which had formerly considered Kaona's communist regime to be illegitimate, has not only agreed to recognize the regime, but to also transfer control of the disputed archipelago of Phikam - internationally recognized as a non-independent but self-governing part of Kaona - to Daeng Meuang. Critics say the deal puts Phikam's democratic tradition in jeopardy, citing Communist Kaona's human rights record.

"If [Sera Svensson] really is the leader of the free world as she claims, she should not turn away from those who value freedom and democracy," said Preecha Sakchai, a Phikamese expat in Xiangmen who joined the protests. "I now have friends whose lives are in danger because of what Svensson has wrought upon them."

Xiangmen police said around 8,000 people took part in the protests. Due to security concerns, all protests regarding the summit have been concentrated to Democracy Square. But this has not stopped some protesters from trespassing Xiangmen's business district, home to the Minjian Regional Convention Center where the summit is being held. The business district has been rendered off-limits for the duration of the summit; police say six individuals were arrested for entering off-limit areas.

"Everything is under control," said Xiangmen mayor Lin Chuanyang when asked if the protests have the potential to disrupt the summit. "While I support protesters' right to assembly, that right should be exercised reasonably as not to cause physical damage."

Pisdara's Shadar Kabari demands new elections as party is denounced as terrorist movement

Image

A woman RUI member addressing protesters in Kibkar over the "Terrorist Movement" slur by Speaker Bouchard.

29/09/16 10.00 am

Pisdara's Islamic Collectivist Speaker, Shadar Kabari has called for new elections after the electoral reform bill passed into law. The law requires all political parties in Pisdara to seek election individually on ballot boxes, rather than as blocs, this would remove some parties from the legislature entirely, in the aim of breaking the political deadlock. However the Speaker said that "it meant nothing unless we utilise it now to break the disgrace engulfing our nation". His comments come after another Speaker denounced his party as a terrorist organisation at the Namour Summit sparking outrage in Pisdara and Ankoren.

Speaking at a rally of the Islamic People's Movement, Speaker Kabari denounced the deadlock engulfing Pisdara as a "disgrace and insult upon our electoral revolution that brought us independence from Ainin, every bill that fails be of the Patriotic Front or the sympathiser bloc, is another attack on our independence". Over 2,000 attended the conference, where the atmosphere has been described as "stormy yet unified". Many have noted that the entire look and feel of the RUI (the Pisdari acronym) has changed, with great posters holding the famous Ankoreni revolutionary poem; "the Mosque is our barracks".

Speaker Kabari praised the electoral reform bill passing into law, declaring it the "most successful, the only success we have seen that benefits the entire nation, rather than a minority. If we are to make independence a success, we need an electoral system that rewards the party or movement that seeks to work for every Pisdari and not some social or economic minority" he said. He again denounced the United Coalition for Independence as "hypocritical and deceitful", raising the issue of the Association agreement between Ainin and Pisdara, which in the RUI's view undermines its independence.

"They call themselves the United Coalition for Independence, yet maintain the free association agreement, they call themselves the movement for independence, yet maintain the imperialist hold over our island nation. They and Social Democracy and even the collaborators in the Aininian Union block our initiatives, not through genuine reasoning, but through their fear that we, the party of the people, the people's army will end their patronage with the imperialists" he said to loud cheers and applause.
The Mosque is our barracks:
The Ankoreni revolutionary poem has become
popular in Pisdara. Here are the words:
The Mosque is our barracks;
The domes our helmets;
The minarets our bayonets;
The faithful our soldiers

"Let us end this chaos, let us cease undermining, insulting and disgracing our own decision to declare ourselves independent, let us hold fresh elections as soon as possible and rectify the mistakes of the previous one. Let us build us a new government, one that is true to the people, true to its service of the people, true to its purpose and true to Pisdara" he said.

The rally also saw large protests against Speaker Jean-Claude Herve Bouchard, who sparked outrage at the Namor Summit by denouncing the Islamic People's Movement as an Islamist terrorist organisation; Bouchard's statement was tweeted by Prime Minister Akbari. At least 800 RUI supporters rallied outside the hall in Kibkar, with one speaker saying "if we were terrorist Bouchard, you'd not be alive to say so". The party's newspaper, the Pisdari Resistance printed a front-page story in which Bouchard was denounced as a "surrogate Leche" and an Islamophobic racist, with one line reading "simply we because we are Muslim that makes us terrorists, if that is the case, then we pray for Bouchard's safe return to his masters in Huimont."

Speaker Kabari joined in denouncing his words as "irresponsible and insulting, not just to us as RUI members and supporters, but as Muslims. Hear me Bouchard, we have heard you, we have seen you and we know who you are. Bigot, racist, Islamophobe and a Leche acolyte" he said to loud cheers.

Also present at the conference where over 60 Imams, these Imams are renown for permitting the RUI to run political events in their Mosques, yet they've also been noted to give highly politicised sermons on Fridays in support of the RUI, one Imam, Basheer Baram spoke at the conference, rousing the crowd with a rally cry for second election.

"Hear me O God, offer us the strength, wisdom and resilience to serve you in this world on these islands. O God the merciful and benevolent, guide our hearts and minds to your word through us, guide their hands on the ballot box, give them and us the strength to create a nation in your honour, give us the power and strength to cast out the sympathisers and collaborators, who would harm your faithful, we ask you God, grant our fair land mercy and free us from this madness" he said to rousing applause.

Bouchard's comments have also sparked outrage in Ankoren, where State President Volkan (who is recovering from minor surgery on his wrist) addressed the Union on television, in which he proclaimed Bouchard's denunciation of the RUI as a denunciation of Ankoren.

"If this narrow-minded individual casts them as terrorists, then we are a nation of terrorists" he said. Prime minister Qassem Akbari denounced Bouchard's words at the summit, calling them "hurtful and distasteful".

THE PROBLEMS FACING THE PISDARI NATION AND HOW WE CAN FIX THEM

Image
Patriotic Pisdaris fighting against oppression

Yesterday, I have witnessed a horrifying tweet from the Ankoreni Prime Minister, Qassem Akbari. It states that the RUI, our allies, are a party of terrorists. While this slur cannot be forgiven, this is only a hint of the problems that are impacting the society. As General-Secretary of this party, it has become clear that the current Pisdari government and its constitution has failed in a very spectacular manner.

Therefore, in my role as leader of the New Pisdari Liberation Front, I have the moral obligation, not only to the members of the Party, but to the Pisdari motherland to explain the issues that are damaging our nation, and to propose solutions rooted in common-sense ideals to not only solve the problems, but to make the Pisdari motherland as great as it was before the Aininians colonized us and began their nearly 150-year domination over these fair isles.

The problem with our government

The most obvious problem with Pisdara is the government as it has been structured under the current constitution that was ratified just prior to independence from Ainin. The framers of the constitution were naive enough to create a consensus government, where all parties are supposed to co-operate with each other and where every deputy has a say in the running of government.

In practice, this has not gone well in practice. The naive perceptions of those who made the current constitution were proven wrong as all they have done was facilitate deadlock. Compared to their utopian ideals of a peaceful and harmonious world where everyone co-operates with one another, and where all legislation can pass, this has not happened. All the bills that the Patriotic Front have tabled to improve the standards of living among the Pisdari have failed. Meanwhile, all the bills made by those aligned to Aininian interests can pass easily.

Then we finally reach another issue. The idea that "four heads are better than one," to try and stop any future Leche from trying to seize power. The Speakers are supposedly meant to serve as a cabinet to help administrate the Pisdari nation. Yet, while two of the speakers are part of the Patriotic Front (Eternal President Baba Naram-Sin and Speaker Shadar Kabari of the RUI), the other two remain hellbent on obstructing our efforts to improve our country. A divided cabinet only hinders the progress of our country, and prevents anything from getting done. God can only imagine being a civil servant and receiving conflicting orders from various Speakers.

The solution

I agree with Speaker Shadar Kabari that elections ought to be called right away under the new rules. However, this is only a short term solution: even if tomorrow, elections were held, and much of the smaller parties disappeared, it does not solve the fundamental problem with the political system that is set up. We will still have a cabinet that will remain ineffective, and a legislature that will remain deadlocked.

What Pisdara needs to do is institute a new constitution. We need to petition the government of Pisdara to force another constitutional convention. We need to abandon this naive approach of a consensus government and a cabinet that serves as a collective head of state. Instead, we need a strong President to lead Pisdara, counterbalanced with a 20 member legislature and a Supreme Court of five justices.

As for the voting system, while the party does support the current system, since it accurately represents the will of the people, nonetheless, we express concern that such a system could increase the chance of deadlock.

The Aininian problem

PM Qassem Akbari of Ankoren tweeted that Speaker Bouchard called the RUI a "terrorist movement." This patronizing attitude by Aininians continues to persist, even after the genocide committed by Governor Leche earlier this year, which has claimed the lives of around 1,200 individuals, including my 6-year old daughter.

Aininians control most of our arable land: about 12,355 acres of land are owned by Aininians, or most of our country's arable land. French is a major language despite being only spoken by 1 in 5 Pisdaris as a native language. While 17.4% of the total population are Aininian, 8 out of 23 representatives are Aininian, more than twice their representation in the general population. In addition, two of the four speakers are Aininian.

Racists will come out of the woodwork. They claim that Aininians are more intellectually suited to running a government or a business than those "savage" Pisdaris and will want us to go back to their farms to toil as slaves until the day we die. However, the last time Aininians dominated a government, they sought to commit genocide against the native people of the land. And while that party has been banned, the PUA has taken its place and claims to be moderate, even though we know for a fact that the PUA is just the PRPN under a different name.

The solution

Before the genocide, I was in favor of Aininians and Pisdaris living side by side. I had Aininian friends, and I spoke a lot of Pisdari and French. But today, I am not so forgiving. I greatly distrust the Aininians for having complicity supported the PRPN. Those who I thought were friends suddenly became pro-genocide, and advocated placing every last Pisdari like myself into these camps. I can no longer forgive them for what they have done to us from January through March: the Aininians must be punished for what they have done.

As much as I want to see them punished for their complicity and crimes against humanity, I have to recognize that the Aininian still plays a key role in our society. However, we need to put the Aininian in their place: if Ainin has the expectation that immigrants to Ainin adopt Aininian culture, then the Aininians living in Pisdara have the expectation to adopt our culture and abandon their ways.

If we implement the presidential system that I mentioned earlier, ethnic Aininians can only get at most three seats out of 20, which is far more proportionate to the size of their population as opposed to having eight seats filled by Aininians. We also need to mandate that at most, 17.4% of all government institutions, from the janitors to the ministers, are Aininians. Ideally the less Aininians we have in government, the better off we will be.

Constitutional Amendment Tabled
Constitution Amendment to Repeal Jacques Rule tabled

The Central Commission -- has voted 78 to 32 in the affirmative to table a Constitutional amendment, 4% more than the 66% required to table a Constitutional Amendment. The constitutional amendment as it stands would repeal Article 301 of the General Charters of Sardeed, popularly known as 'Jacques Rule' or 'Jacques Law.' What was for sixty years an uncontroversial article suddenly sparked up debate after the arrest and trial of Senno de Gándini, the member of Parliament who was accused of brutally murdering a maid.

Jacques Rule was proposed by then Senator Robert Jacques as a Constitutional Amendment. The amendment, initially allowing the Senate to investigate into the trials of former Senators, grew into an amendment which would allow the Senate to, by two-thirds majority override the decision of a court to detain a fellow Senator. On the issue, Article 301 reads "[i]f a Senator is so convicted of a felony by a court and detained, the Senate may, after inquiry of the Judiciary Committee, choose to remit the detainment and expunge it by two-thirds majority consensus and allow the Senator to regain their respective Senatorial Office." The Article does contain two exceptions "[t]he Senate may not remit a sentence if the respective sentence has been upheld by the Court of Cassation or the Supreme Court" and "[t]he Senate may not remit a sentence if the respective sentence has been upheld by the Court of Cassation or the Supreme Court" and "[t]he Senate may not remit a sentence solely based on a failure to adhere to procedure or based on legal error. For a remittance to be lawful evidence must be presented to prove that the defendant is truly not guilty. "

This amendment would effectively make the Senate an appellate court, which would be ludicrous in our day and age. However, the amendment was proposed during the crackdowns in the 1955 Padadi-Neno Incident. Padidi and Neno were both outspoken far-right politicians part of the former Christian Nationalist Party. After the Parliament passed the Hate Speech Act to arrest political leaders who engage in hate speech, both Padidi and Neno were issued arrest warrants against them by Attorney General Roberto Gauph and brought to trail for inciting political hate speech, a crime that carried five years imprisonment. However, not only was the bill ruled unconstitutional two years later, both Padidi and Neno did nothing that could be considered hate speech in the fist place. Both made comments about the Social Democratic Party calling the members of the party dogs. However, this couldn't seriously be considered hate speech, as it was purely comedic. After being convicted and causing national outrage, Senator Robert Jacques presented the amendment to the Central Commission. The amendments passed with nearly 85% in the Central Commission and 78% in the Senate, five of the six provinces ratified it and the general public up-voted it by two-thirds majority support.

The amendment was only triggered once before the Senno de Gándini incident in 1978. But in 2004, Senno de Gándini, a popular yet brash Senator was arrested for the horrific murder of his maid. De Gándini was tried and convicted and sent to prison for life. In 2008, Augustine Nebant, a close friend of Senno and coincidentally a member of the Judiciary Committee petitioned to re-open the case based on a confession from a local school teacher that he murdered the maid, who he was conducting an affair with. Further evidence found that Senno's DNA was misused in the lab, and mixed in with other DNA samples. The Senate voted to appeal the ruling, and the ruling was appealed. However, evidence surfaced that Senno and the school teacher were in contact and that bribes were made. After discovering the evidence against the school teacher was completely trumped up. Senno was finally expelled from the Senate in 2014 and brought to trial for coercion.

After a long wave of public outrage, Commissioner Benito Níos presented his amendment but it was put on hold after the power transfer between Roberto Cádis, the current President and Tulo Bannan. The amendment was finally put to a vote and received support from both major party and majority support from the Liberal Party. The amendment will go to the Senate and if passed by three-fifths majority, it will go to provincial legislators, three of the six must ratify them, finally the amendment must be approved by a majority of the populous by referendum. The amendment has a very high chance of passing, with the provincial legislators harboring the most support. If the amendment succeeds, it will be the eighty-fourth amendment to the General Charters. More on the story as it evolves.
