I love how this is shaping up to be Jefferson's nightmare so far.

It will end up being that way. I'm gonna change the poll soon.

The 1800 Election's over, and here are the results:

1800:
VICE-PRESIDENT: John Adams (Federalist) 24 - 33%
Charles Cotesworth Pinckney (Federalist)12 - 16%
PRESIDENT: Thomas Jefferson (Democratic-Republican) 26 - 36%
Aaron Burr (Democratic-Republican) 11 - 15%
(Total votes: 73)

(Thank you to those from The League, The East Pacific, and The North Pacific for breaking the tie!)
I made 2 changes: First of all, no more changing votes: That makes tie-trolling too easy. Secondly, you now vote for one ticket for POTUS and VP, due to the passage of the 12th Amendment.

I thought similarly, until I posted on some RMBs to break the tie, which shifted it in favor of TJ.
Now, though, it's a 4v0 for Jefferson. :)

By the way, if someone other than the real winner wins, then what? Because IRL Jefferson won.

So say, if Adams wins, will the next poll(1804) be between the real winner of 1800 and a challenger(Jefferson and Pinckney like IRL) or will the poll be between the winner of this election and some challenger that you have to imagine?

I recommend just keeping the candidates the same for every election, so even if Adams wins this contest, make the next one between Jefferson and Pinckney.

I wrote in the OP when I started this "Successive elections will not be changed based on who won in the previous one". I think it is best to keep that.

This is why reading is fundamental

Let's go Federalists! Bring in the boys for Pinckney! Proud to be the first to vote for him.

My suspicions were correct. STOLEN ELECTION!

Look, there was a tie, so I went to the feeder regions to ask them to break it!

This is an interesting game.

I cannot wait to be able to vote for Victoria Woodhull, Eugene V. Debs, George McGovern, Ralph Nader, and Bernie Sanders.

No, no, no, no, and no.

On a serious note, I think we'll only be able to vote for main-party candidates who won the primaries. So I think McGovern is the only one of those five that would be an option. Or should be an option, anyway. Would still vote for Nixon instead

Ah, a socialist, I see!

Woodhull and Sanders probably won't be on a ballot by the metric being used, though.

I know it's not 1808 yet, but...

"Our ships, all in motion,
Once whiten’d the ocean,
They sail’d and return’d with a cargo;
Now doom’d to decay,
They have fallen a prey
To Jefferson, worms, and Embargo."

Pinckney 1805-1813

This does raise the question though: What will we do when we get to 1820?

I'll probably do Monroe-Tompkins (the actual ticket) and Monroe-Stockton, because the Federalists did nominate a VP - Stockton.

Ah yes, that's why I picked Thomas Jefferson and him, so that the blacks would have more representation. Never mind Thomas Jefferson still owns slaves I believe

Why does everyone always vote for G. Clinton because of the man with the same name? This happened last thread too!

But I just hope we’re motivated enough to keep this going through 2020. Luckily I came relatively early so I get to vote on all the good ones.
