this is interesting data for next time. It seems leaders, misc and overviews are the most popular categories so I'd limit those to 1 per entry. And most people probably add in their history, military and geography into overviews. Maybe have a category to judge overview sections instead? And a way to differently categorize misc entries?

Yeah, some categories are definitely much more popular than others, so... if I am planning another contest (this one has not even started yet), I might see how it goes in terms of the types of categories, limits, and the like.

The entries are updated and added accordingly. So... let me do the randomization, and then we can start! Some categories like Misc and Leaders have became way too popular and had 37 entries out of the 36. I can work around this by doing three-ways with some folks.

I am giving another 12 hours-ish to finalise your own entries, please look at them and see if there are errors. There shall and will be NO more changes afterwards, including to your factbooks. There's an "Edited: x mins/hours/days ago" tag on the bottom of every factbook, so... please don't change during the contest.

All right, the first bracket is out, on top of the Upcoming Brackets!

To avoid any bias from the host, i.e. yours truly
- I will not be commenting or voting for the first few hours for either one.
- I will not comment when it involves my factbooks.
- The brackets are all sorted through Random Numbers (between 0 and 1), and ONLY reshuffled here and there when the 2/3 contestants are contesting on their own (e.g. Cosmic Unity Church got a slight reshuffle because they are racing against their own).
- I have made the brackets so that they run for exactly one full day, even without me starting/ending earlier or later. With that said, if Cloudflare or some technical error pops up, I will re-run that bracket. ^^

I will do my best to keep track of CTEs and DEATs, given the projected long runtime of the contest, but rest-assured that the prizes will be fairly and justly given where it's due! ♥

I planned on running it concurrently (e.g. 2 brackets at one go), but with Cosmic's Flag Bracket having 128 entries (also my main inspiration), this contest has 101 entries across the categories.

The odd-number brackets will bite me in the ass, but I will think of something.

Also as an additional rule, which I thought I will put here and in the OP later: Since a flag bracket and a factbook bracket are entirely different breeds, after some feedback, I will let you guys edit if your factbook got outvoted (i.e. out of the contest), OR, 3 brackets before yours. So for instance, you are allowed to do some changes here and there (but not completely radical changes to the point of beyond recognition) three brackets (~ 3 days) before that particular factbook is up for voting.

Editing allowed is grammatical changes, small formatting fixes, here and there. But again, to keep up with the fairness of the game, please do NOT radically change them (e.g. if you have an Misc. factbook, do not change it so hard so as to one-up the bracket). If you are making changes, please do TG me so that we can keep track in the name of fairness.

Anyway, I think I'm going for CSA this time. While both are good, there's a limit to how much I can suspend my disbelief.

In terms of formatting, I think both contestants are going with a simple but sweet style. However, when it comes to the depth and content of what makes up the factbook, this is where the CSA factbook comes out on top. They've brushed upon the main aspects of their nation rather concisely. Going to go with the CSA factbook in this case!

Thanks for the suggestion, but nah, I'm still using the forum OP for polls.

If there are a lot of entries, I would have done simultaneous brackets, but since there are only 101 of them, figured it'll be easier for everyone as well. Plus, that's the idea of a contest, to go through the brackets one by one, even if a bit slow.

The IP/cookies duplication checking sounds pretty cool, though I trust that no one would double vote here.
