I could, my biggest problem there is that it's more than long enough for participating nations to lose interest and CTE. Additionlly, getting past the Top 128 would take longer than the entire original Flag Bracket. Last problem is that, while there are a lot of good flags, I'm not certain there are enough to justify a four month bracket - if we get any less than exactly 128, than I'll have to start adding a lot of flags as filler or giving people automatic access to the top 64, further complicating what's already going to be a really long competition.

I'll resubmit my flag for another chance. And this is also why you don't post it late.

There are two possibilities:

1. Why not limit it to one submission and no gifs that don't look like flags instead? Submissions will take much longer but there won't be a scenario close to Drongonia vs Drongonia at the least, and it takes all this out of existence.

2. I'd be willing to do a 128 flag bracket, but I'm not in it. But yeah, that could work out.

I only posted it one day after the time I originally intended, and the delay was announced ahead of time. So I don't think I was that late.

Also, limiting things to one submission after all flags are already in would be very difficult. I'd either be hastily sending telegrams to everyone who submitted more than one flag, or resetting entirely and annoying a lot of people.

Why not make it 2 flags person if not 1 per user as a last resort. Yeah, it may stifle on the people's opportunity to showcase their other flags, but just a thought.

Here's what I'll do:
- I'll allow more submissions, but they will be capped at 128. I might be willing to run this for four months, but I'm definitely not willing to do an 8.5-month competition, no matter how high the demand. I haven't even been on NS for that long, and I even have doubts that I'll retain my interest in NS for four months.
- If the number of total submissions by tomorrow morning is less than or equal to 96, I will add 3-way matches to a two-month bracket, rather than running a four-month bracket.
- If greater than 96 and less than 128, I will allow certain people automatic entry into the top 64 (known in similar competitions as "byes.")
- All of Apabeossie's and Voxija's flags are accepted!

Since submissions are now reopened, here's another flag, not related to Greater Cosmicium's lore but I put it in anyway.:

This flag was created in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Northern Federation's foundation. It consists of four colors: dark cyan, red, dark blue and white, dark cyan representing the seas the Federation borders, red the blood spilled to create the Federation, and dark blue to represent the freezing cold of the North. Inside the circle, there is a central star, representing the Capital State, and six surrounding stars, representing the six nations that form the Federation.

[Fallen Albali]

Here are my four - I'm sure you'll be able to spot a pattern in how I like to design my flags

Flag of The Albali Republic

The Albali Republic's flag consists of a stylised bird of prey, in the colours in of United Nations. Following the military coup and the end of a major galactic conflict in 2017, the Republic brought new ideals of peace and harmony to the Albalian people, which in my mind is what the UN's colours represent. The bird of prey has its origins in ancient Albalian lore, when an ancient king took a dozen of them for his pets. Since then, raptors have been associated with both power and grace, and has been a common pet for rulers embodying such qualities (and those who don't) ever since those cold, dark days of prehistory.

Flag of Fallen Albali in the future - like, 150 years into the future I mean

Fallen Albali's (or Roulons') flag is something of an oddity in the Albaliverse; the deep red and blue is a combination rarely seen, fitting the unusual conditions for Roulons itself. The traditional raptor has been altered almost beyond recognition, now being symmetrical and missing its head. This was to represent the battered state of Albali, but not to demoralise its citizens - instead, it was designed to unite them in the shared loss of their nation, to make them more angry at the enemy so they they would be winning to fight once more when the time for reclamation had come. The flag of the Republic is also flown above this one, to show that Roulons is still Albalian land.

Flag of Catalibla

Catalibla is a micronation in the Alps, and a voice of peace and harmony for Europe. The country is no stranger to servitude, having been a member state of the Holy Roman Empire, annexed into the Austro-Hungarian Empire, annexed by Nazi Germany, and later occupied by the French post-WW2. The red and black background comes from the historical flag of Catalibla; a striped flag with a red upper half and a black lower half. The new flag was adopted in 1952, keeping the traditional colours, with a white version of the HRE's Reichsadler in the middle. Catalibla found its origins in the HRE, and white prepresents the purity of its people and the hope for continued peace. In a red shield on the eagle's breast is a stylised edelweiss, a common flower in Catalibla, and one of its national symbols.

Finally, the flag of the Albali Republic a few years ago, when it was a monarchy

The Albalian Kingdom's flag has been the longest-lived of all of Albali's flags, going unaltered for hundreds upon hundreds of years. The origins of the raptor has already been explained for the Republic's flag, so I won't explain it here. Blue and gold have traditionally been symbols of wealth in ancient times; gold because of the actual element of gold which was just as valuable to an alien community as it was for humans. Blue came from having blue clothing, as blue dyes were extremely rare and could only be afforded by the richest of the richest. Despite that no longer being the case, the connotations of associating the colour blue with outrageous wealth continued. A stylised wreath of olive branches sits below the raptor, representing one simple thing: victory. Meanwhile, the crown sitting higher than the stars above the raptor is no coincidence; it represents the power of the monarch - and by extension the state - being greater than that of even the stars themselves. This arrogant attitude had brought war to Albali's doorsteps more than once.

Additional submission

A fictional nation inspired by Imperial Russia.

A fantasy version of Azorztka, a totalitarian state I made a while back. The kingdom of Adelheim was once a pleasant kingdom before being taken over by the Azor Cult. Now the kingdom has become a bleak and blood-thirsty empire ruled by a dark sorcerer.

A fantasy version of New Solaurora. The kingdom of Solaurora was founded from the kingdoms of Sol and Aurora after a decades long war. Out of fear of invading forces the two kingdoms united. Since then their cultures and peoples have blended which has further ensured their unity. This flag represents a combination of the flags of the original kingdoms.

edit: you might not be able to see parts of some of the flags depending on which theme your using but you might be able to tell the Solaurora is a swallow-tail.

I'm using a school issued computer, so some (a lot) of websites are blocked. This is the best that I can do. But don't worry, I rarely change my flag.
