The citizens of Galatea head to the polls on May 23 to determine their European future and membership in the European Union.

Eligible voters in this referendum are all registered members of the NSG Senate RP. Questions about eligibility will be determined by the administrators. Please do not post in this thread unless you are an eligible voter casting a ballot.

Voting will last for 48 hours. It begins at 8am Pacific / 11am Eastern / 5pm Central European, which a little over 4.5 hours from the time of this post. Votes cast before then will not count.

Senators should cast the following ballot, marking either "Yes" or "No," or casting a blank ballot. A "Yes" vote supports Galatea moving to join the EU and authorizes the government to begin the formal process required to do as such. A "No" vote declines to give this authority to the government.

In determining the results of the referendum, the following formula shall be used to count each side:
RP_score_Yes + (100,000)(senator_votes_Yes) = final_votes_Yes
RP_score_No + (100,000)(senator_votes_No) = final_votes_No

The side with a majority of 50%+1 votes shall win. In the event that neither side has a majority, the referendum will not pass.

Voting is closed with Martune’s vote being the last valid one. I will post a count shortly.

I count the following:

Yes: 9 (900,000 votes)
No: 7 (700,000 votes)

As to RP scores, there were not enough RPs on either side to influence the above outcome.

As such, I can make the initial certification that “Yes” has won. A second count by an admin is needed to confirm this result.
