Huh. I can't imagine there was no place of knowledge, no matter how small and unpopular, that wouldn't take him. Maybe it's his ineptitude that's the problem, rather than his lack of professional ethics.

The colonial exchange after the Great War was one of the least satisfying parts of the Treaties that finalized the defeat of the Entente. North Germany annexed Mozambique and Angola in a "friendly" invasion following the Portuguese Revolution during the Great War and just up and refused to return them when the war ended and the monarchy was restored. Libya was returned to Italy, having been remained a South German Colony for only 4 years, all of which in wartime. British Borneo was annexed by The Dutch Empire, while Germany annexed Singapore, Brunei, and Malaysia, forming the new Colony of East Asia, and the Japanese officially annexed the Visayas (which they had taken over during the first two years of the war, before changing sides following the Qing invasion). This was of course seen as a large affront to France (which had had plans of building a hegemony over the West African Coast), and Italy (which wanted to connect Libya and East Africa by taking Egypt), and may have been one of the many reasons why a second Great War happened in the next two decades.

This could have had ramifications in modern times. I wonder how different that world would be compared to IRL.

Though neutral during the Second World War, Vespertia sent war correspondents in the hottest areas of the war (e.g. 1941 North Africa, 1942 Russia, 1944 West Europe) to observe military action, in the hopes that one action can give them an edge during the 1106-1114 Lupo-Vespertian war. Vespertia also sent analysts to the U.S. to study production techniques and weaponry design, particularly in naval weaponry design (remember, Vespertia is an island).

That's an interesting fact because my initial reaction is that Vespertia had time travel in the 12th century and went forward to WW2 to get an advantage. Thinking about it, Vespertia probably just has a different calendar to us that isn't based on the birth of Christ (cuz they're vampires).

A clown came quite close to winning the 2001 elections. Bozo Jonson of the Fancy Dress Party received a huge number of protest votes from previous Traditionalist Party voters after the scandalous and frankly terrible governance of the previous chancellor, a traditionalist. The Progressives won the election with the Fancy Dress Party coming in second place. Despite the Fancy Dress Party being a joke "wrong-wing" party with absurdist policies, Bozo Jonson served ably as shadow chancellor until the 2007 elections. He did so in character and in full clown costume and makeup for the full six years as to do otherwise would be "a betrayal of his loyal audience".
So, this is where I write a signature. I'll replace this with something else later.

That's actually pretty interesting. I mean, it's not uncommon for people of a party to vote in protest en masse, but for traditionalists to vote for a clown is just a big joke.

Adding this one more time, before I start expanding on the Great War and the events surrounding it.

That is an unfortunate occurrence. I am personally not communist nor technocratic (I’m also not in favour of communism), so I’m not particularly bothered. If you truly want to bring them back together, spread your own propaganda and heal disagreements. But, I’d say nah to that. It’s one less ideology to contend with.
The National Union Party has officially endorsed microhouses / tiny homes, repealing legislation that forbade them in London. In the past year, the government has focused on building these 17 1/4 square metre living spaces in an attempt to solve the homelessness and housing affordability crises.

I love tiny houses. I would love to live in one.

Any Earthling can fly to and from Vespertia, however, only via the Floridian exclave. If one wishes to go to and from mainland Vespertia, they would need to secure a ferry from the exclave to any of Vespertia's ports and vice versa. As such, Vespertian Earthbound ferry lines have coordinated with Earth airline companies for promos.

That's... Very disturbing actually. Although my nation is heavily militarized, we don't see war as this glorious thing that needs praise. Even victories are met with somber silence of survival, with some exceptions. None of this hours-long praising and overall celebration.

Although, officially, there has only been one civil war within the Nation's history: there was one violent civil conflict that scarred the City of Erbil. In 1973, the mayor of Erbil, Burhan Samara, declared loyalty to the Government of Eastasia and declared the "Western Autonomous Region". Although it was now believed that the mayor was on drugs, the people were disgusted and violently overthrew the Erbil Government. The military, however, did not know that the Government was overthrown and thus invaded the city and presumed that armed individuals were apart of a pro-Samara militia, while the people of Erbil thought vice-versa. It ended in a bloody battle that destroyed around 20% of the city and killed over Thirty-Four Thousand people. Erbil never recovered and was later abandoned in 1977 after the Eurasian invasion of Kurdistan. Erbil is now only populated by rats, the homeless, scavengers, and bandits.

Ahh.. Miss-communications and civil chaos make for blood-shed. Certainly an interesting, and bloody, fact. Makes me worried, just thinking about it though.

The only known armored-train on armored-train action, was recorded in the Uvoanian Civil War, when two Loyalist armored-trains misidentified each-other, mistaking the other for a Rebel armored train known to be in section. This resulted in the two trains calling it into command, and then being switched onto a main-line... Where they promptly proceeded to engage each other.

The incident resulted in 78 Loyalists dead, and two armored trains destroyed when the actual rebel armored train, that had been in section, showed up. The incident went down in history as one of the stupidest failures to identify target in the entire civil war.

Responding to both Uvoan and TSS because TSS' response was a bit low-tier.

Uvoan: That's a humiliating mistake to make, tbh. I am curious about why armored trains actually participate in battles themselves rather than acting as support though. Armored Trains are too expensive to be used like that, not to mention too inefficient.

TSS: I'm not surprised. While not necessarily as much of a money maker as many other industries, it is no surprise that an influential politician would have a controlling share in a company of that industry.

South Germany and North Germany both had the same plan for the other at the beginning of the great war. The partitioning of the other into its component states and decreasing the ability of the other side's major power in influencing these newly recreated states: For North Germany, this would mean Hanover, Saxony, Hesse, Mecklenburg, Prussia, and a state carved out of Prussia's territories in Western Germany ("The Rhine"). For South Germany this meant Austria, Baden, Bavaria, and Württemberg (with the province of Hohenzollern annexed into North Germany).

I wonder if they expected that at all. And both succeeded at it too, so would that even be win-win?

The successful construction of a launch loop for low-orbit spacecraft on Comona Island has seen the government purchasing the nearby islands to the east in the North Fragkiskan Sea, with plans to develop further space infrastructure. However, the process of acquiring the islands involved no less than a group of three rogue admirals, the brief creation and downfall of five opposing island regimes, and the impending threat of nuclear war. Though the official stance is clear on the timeline and the past and current sovereignty of the islands, the speculation on Myonnet forums have been rampant on the true allegiance and events during the crisis. On a unrelated note, a total of three web dramas and a romantic comedy are currently within the works "depicting" this short, but muddled affair.

Khm, sounds like an interesting story. I also get, why general population would brush it as a ''simple purchase'', but more clarity would be needed on that, what exactly happened during the crisis. Also, sounds like those are going to be some interesting movies, then.

It is no secret, that politics have got very deep into SC's society, but they have also got as deep as in essential institutions like healthcare. While it is a no secret, that a lot of doctors have been already affiliated with SC's army, or government for various medical experiments, mostly for war needs, some of them have let politics to get in their job - In some of the recordings by SCPS, some of them have admitted, that ''they wouldn't give medical treatment for a patient, if they were a royalist, or capitalist'', like blood transfusion, cybernetics for broken bones, or vaccine shots against measles, or even more serious diseases. Of course, not all doctors are like this, and still hold to Hippocratic Oath, but it still shows, that SC's political sphere, and society has become dangerously polarizing. So far, Supercomputer Tom, SCPS, Army, or other main institution hasn't done much about this, and some governors even seem to encourage such thought.

Corruption in the Medicine Sector is a serious problem, and one that should be rooted out the moment it appears. Of course, not much can be expected from a government like that of the Silver Commonwealth to care, much less attempt to root it out.

Not surprising - although I see the resentment between North and South is large enough to cancel out any pan-German feeling, which is sad really.

The Kaiser and his inner circle prefer a subtle method of personal protection that relies on self-sufficiency and discreet movement over overwhelming force of security. When in public view, the Kaiser will tend to be surrounded by four or five bodyguards hidden in the crowd, and a similar method of protection - with the addition of a clothing disguise and quick-application face mask - is used when the Emperor needs to move around the city. Between cities, the Emperor will tend to use a 'sleeper' (Faster than it looks, in this case also better-protected, with stock paint and exterior) sports car with a maximum of one undercover guard car. Of course, nobody knows any of this, and the means of the Emperor's getting-around are among the most hotly-debated topics on the Internet.

Huh, that does not seem to be too far from my region. One of the main diplomats of a country here is an orangutan.

There have been sightings of a species of fish with various "types" that can go on land for around 3 minutes. This species is currently believed to be slightly higher in the level of intelligence than dolphins, as they can use weapons. The Inkling Defense Forces have been mobilized to afflicted areas as this new species is a threat to certain Inkling series. Although, these fishes sometimes drop extremely valuable eggs that could be used as a way to power a part of Inkopolitia.

This nation is literally 1984. Well, our version of Big Brother is "Comrade Skalārit" and our version of Emmanuel Goldstein is "Stavna Žironiu". Žironiu's backstory is pretty interesting. Skalaarit and Žironiu was born in the same neighborhood (a slum) in the same year. As adults, they joined an organization known as the "Proletariat's Technocracy" and the "Order of Platinum". Both organizations were very secretive and they planned to overthrow Vilinnia Srataniv, a repressive and corrupt dictator. They succeeded and Skalaarit became the leader of both organizations and her ego grew and grew, so Yasnö and Žironiu deposed her and Žironiu became the new leader. Then, Skalaarit became a misanthrope and she wanted to build a utopia, and here we are, it's her failed attempt of a utopia.

I wonder how life is like there...

The Vespertian translation of the rank "Senior Petty Officer" is "Ovarundarofitseir", which literally transliterates to "Over Under Officer".
Be advised: This nation will CTE.

IIRC, there was a similar rank in many German navies. I don't think "ober" can be translated as "over" here though.

Buckle up because this one is long

Upon entering the Great War, the British Empire's primary objective was to seize Dunkirk and the ports of Wallonia and use them to transport around 3,000,000 troops through the Channel. It was only a stroke of luck that the Majority of the North German Qingdao Fleet had dropped anchor in France's ports after bringing back the bulk of North Germany's garrison from the recently-returned Shandong. France told North Germany that if Britain could achieve naval dominance in the Channel this early, the war would be over in a month, and so the Qingdao Fleet and the Homefleet moved into the channel and helped France battle Britain. Once they realized they had no hopes of achieving dominance in the next two weeks, Britain tried to move around them and make landing in France's Southern coasts. It was at this time that the Naval part of the Great War reached its peak.

France, knowing that if Britain could move even one ship through Gibraltar, it would have supremacy in the Mediterranean, used almost every resource it had to block the strait, causing something close to a naval "trench warfare" where five entire British and French fleets were laid to waste before Britain decided it was simply not worth it. So now, Britain decided to move *around* Africa and come through Suez (Which they controlled without a single doubt). North German "Crown Prince's Fleet", stationed in Schwarzpunkt and Luderitz, and later the North German "Mittelafrikan Fleet" stationed in Freienhaus, tried as much as they could to stop the British from moving their troops and their navy, and later the Italians tried (to no avail) to block Britain from moving through Djibouti. By the time Britain had arrived to Suez (early September 1908), the Great Front had been established between France, Habsburg, and North Germany, and so Britain couldn't afford to open a new front, therefore they were forced to, instead, move their troops to Trent (crushing the last vestiges of the Italian Navy which had put Illyria and South Germany in a blockade) and land about 3,000,000 of their original 4,500,000 expeditionary force, which moved to reinforce the South Germans in the trenches, primarily in Palatinate, Baden, and Bavaria.

(Sorry if I do not get the context well enough man, I just woke up)

Jesus, that's the literal definition of a stalemate. Britain tries to wiggle their troops around the territory but they just get sorta pushed back after they get defeated but then start wiggling around again.

The Inkling Civil War was a Civil War in Inkopolitia which originated after the Confederate States of the country all voted to end slavery of humans in Inkopolitia. This slavery was a result of the Inkling victory over Peru. After the vote to end slavery was finished, two confederate northern states (Ngyes and North Inkville) seceeded from the Union, arguing that Inklings were dominant on Humans and this was important to keep Inkopolitia in it's natural path. The Northeners were defeated in 1886, and every human slave was freed in the national territory.
