Since Zharijistan in completely surrounded by mountains, the first line of defense is the Mountain Warriors Brigade, a Special Forces unit that employs guerrilla warfare, booby traps, stealth tactics, ambushes, trained attack animals and can live off the land for months at a time. The unit is descended from the elite mountain archers that fought off Genghis Khan's army and still use (modernized) archery for stealth attacks. Mongol warriors spoke about them as if they were ghosts that could teleport and couldn't be killed.

Wachterland's embassies throughout the world are known for their openness. They typically don't have large walls, and 5 or less guards armed with merely pistols and non-lethals. Welcoming anyone inside with only a small security check, most even have gift shops selling beer, souvenirs, and other Wachterlander products. The real reason for this is the Foreign Office's low funds and personnel, though many have seen it as a gesture of trust and peace towards other nations.

The single exception to this is Wachterland's embassy in Beijing, PRC, nicknamed semi-officially as the Dönitz Fortress. It was renovated from the old German embassy in 1973, fortified with large metal gates, bullet resistant windows, 3-metre high reinforced concrete walls topped with razor wire, 24/7 HD surveillance cameras, and guarded by 40 soldiers armed with assault rifles, sniper rifles, and tear gas launchers, along with 4 ATF Dingo armoured vehicles with attached 7.62 mm machine guns from the Heer. Rumour has it that it even has an underground bunker capable of housing 150 people in case of truly dire situations, though this is unconfirmed by the Wachterlander government. This is mainly due to the insurgency going on there since the 1920's, which has only recently escalated into a full-scale Civil War.

With the post-war restructuring of the Wehrmacht, paratroops now fall nominally under Heer command and the Luftwaffe doesn't possess ground troops of it's own anymore. Despite that, as Fallschirmjäger are part of the Special Forces division they operate semi-independently of overall Heer command, maintaining their helicopters and air-mobile vehicles separately. Similarly the German Marine infantry (Spezialisierte Einsatzkräfte Marine
) are nominally under Kriegsmarine command but are almost their own force, the main thing keeping them reliant on the Navy being their relatively smaller size compared to the USMC or Royal Marines.

The CPG (Commonwealth Provincial Government) has a decidedly anti militaristic and anti imperialistic policy. Our Military Force is independent from the Government, but a militia that was formed through the alliance of the thirty-something smaller settlements scattered around the Commonwealth. their general duty is to ensure safety on the roads (and, to stop raider or supermutant attacks on the settlements), but in the event of an Invasion, we still do have a small Vertibird Fleet and enough men in T-45, T-51, and X-01 Power Armors that any enemy planning on invasion would probably think twice before attacking us. it helps that while the Population of the commonwealth is 160,000 something, it's actually one of the biggest populated regions in the American Wasteland.

That sounds like a neat building. Pagodas are pretty.

Even if they immigrate to a country where they can achieve some financial success, Toraians tend to be very frugal, to the point of seeming like cheapskates. They’re so used to having to scrimp that they don’t always realize when they can afford to be a bit looser with their earnings.

Amerian executioners are drawn from the military. Sometimes, they serve in the front line and demoralize the enemy with their reaper-like uniforms and voices (which are made scarier with the voice changers in their helmets).

The tank museum in Berlin has one of the biggest collections in the world, though many were originally captured by the war-time Wehrmacht for a planned propaganda museum depicting the struggle of Germany; the museum has a policy of remaining objective in it's exhibits.

While the German Empire tends to not fund dissident or revolutionary groups in other countries, when open civil war breaks out in a nation Germany can be counted on to take a side - and it's not always the government side. Such was the rebirth of the Russian Republic, when a courageous group of democratic oppositionists openly waged war against the autocratic Russian Realm in 2003, and toppled it with medium German support. This support became much more open and sizeable once the Russian nuclear launch posts were seized by the rebels, and Vozhd Estonenko was overthrown.

As of February 2018, relations with Turkmenistan is becoming tenser as the Persagonian government accuses Turkmenistan of supporting separatist Turkmen elements in the nation and Turkmenistan accusing Persagonia of funding political dissidents in the country. Reportedly, the Turkmeni Army secretly deployed 4,500 soldiers and 30 tanks near the Turkmen-Persagonian border in preparation for war if the situation becomes hot. Exodian corporations aren’t actually as competitive as one might think- instead, they’re actually quite friendly with each other. It ranges from our arms-making companies sharing some shipments of metal or gunpowder-making substances when there’s a shortage of one, to our two largest media outlets planning to air their news shows at different times. This trait definitely isn’t shared with multinational or foreign companies, though- Exodia’s often criticized by other capitalist nations for our protectionism and high taxes on imports, and one has reason to believe that this cooperation between businesses was for the sake of native businesses to have an advantage over foreign ones.
