During Passover, all of our nation's leavened products are 'sold' temporarily to the Jewish-German Friendship Association, located in Berlin, as according to halakha, yeast products are considered chametz during the holiday and ownership of them by Jews is a sin. When the holiday is concluded, the products are all 'sold' back to their previous owners.

Jewish-German Friendship Association... That's the most East-German sounding organisation I can think of. I need more.

After a rogue catgirl-pet-anime-thing native to the Empire of Dukin Donuts stole the Haudegen crest and bit a piece off, we've had to settle for a chip in the shield which was eventually adopted as our flag. Going forwards into the future, it is now punishable by death to eat the Haudegen flag or crest.

Who the fuck eats a flag? It baffles me how that needs to be a law, ngl

Our nation has had a major demographic change. While we used to be evangelical and conservative (think Donald Trump), we now became progressive and lutheran (think Obama). This has, of course, led to intense generational conflict. However, the government is now made up of mostly the latter demographic, with many members below 50.

It seems like a major change leads to major conflicts. It is better to have one-party system and stick to it forever in order to avoid this kind of chaos.

Another fresh fact.

Ah yes the Japanese education system. Nothing like it.

"In Oskenia, every family with a male living in the household between the ages of 16 to 75 is required to own a military-grade firearm with 500 rounds and be taught to use it in the event of a hostile homeland invasion. It is the expansion of an original law allowing citizens to freely posses arms. The rifles provided to the affected families are given with no fee, and many militias are prominent across the nation."

Good to see that there's nation recognizing the need of the Second Amendment and expanding gun rights.

What we think of modern Nazbols were actually conceived in Patagonia by Nazi and Soviet emigres. There were a lot of political refugees pouring into Patagonia after WWII which included the Nazis attempting to escape Allied wrath and Soviet Stalinists who were fleeing from the Destalinization purge (Second Great Purge) conducted by Khrushchev. Both former ideological enemies banded together amidst the Surrealist Revolution in order to survive in which they formed the Russo-German Brotherhood. The brains behind the RGB were Ernst Junger, Otto Strasser, Rudolf Hess, Beria, Molotov, and Lazar Kaganovich. They have significant influence over the confederacy as they represent the Russian and German emigres' interest in Patagonia.

Their brand of National Bolshevism called for the tightening of bonds between a German Reich and the Soviet Union within the so-called Eurasian Reich while adopting a totalitarian, national syndicalist government in both countries. The movement even gained support in the underground political resistance and fringe terrorist movements in West and East Germany as well as Soviet Russia.

A hillarious far-right conspiracy theory is real in your world? Damn.

In Amenria, the variability between school uniforms loes in the blazer, the skirt/trousers, and tie or lack thereof, with a standardized white shirt for students of all schools.

On the top left side of the chest, a hand below where the left collarbone would be is a chest pocket and on the right side is the student's name in alphabet above the student's name in his/her native script. In the case of students with parents from different ethnicities, he/she would have their name in the script of whichever parent is from central Amenria, or if both or none of the parents are from there, the student is free to choose. For example, a Thai-Chinese student would have her name written in Chinese, while her Chinese-Korean friend would have his name in either Chinese or Korean, whichever he chooses.

Absolutely!

School uniforms are also standardized in Oskenia, although they vary between regions. (The colony of Tunisia, for instance, would generally wear a more conservative attire that both matches the culture of the region and the climate, while those living in Sardinia would wear a more traditional Catholic-style.)

Fact: Official State language Shænglish, national language English. Other minority dialects include Italian, French, Spanish, Greek, Polish, German, and Arabic. State language taught in schools but majority languages (in order of accession) are: Italian, English, French. Over 88% of population can speak English fluently.
Corsica is biggest speaker of Shænglish, with over 42.6% of population claiming to be fluent or near-fluent in it. Shænglish is a dialect formed to bridge the gaps made by blending multiple cultures together. It is a mixture of many European languages, most notably French, Spanish, Italian, German, Norwegian, and English. Some characters used in Shænglish uncommon for European languages, such as æ. Many words are simplified versions of their previous counterparts and combinations of multiple languages to make learning separate dialects easier. Some examples is the retention of "y" from Spanish, and the addition of prefixes to make gender-specific words more direct. E.g. yhbræ (man), hbræ (person), wyhbræ (woman), and paæ (parent). Plurals are signified by "sz."

We are happy we're not obliged to learn more than one language in our homeland for expediency's sake, but if your people have the need, willpower and means to be polyglots then good for you.

Tohorin is the name of the old Empire's patron deity, a war-loving sun goddess that our people and the old Imperial family are directly descended from according to our myths. It can be said that our land was named as Tohorin's Empire: the "Empire of the Sun". It is a name contested by the other "kinfolk", the nekojin of the Remote East, which some claim we're related to...but Tohorin's sister, Terasu, (Amaterasu?), is a coward who hid in a cave instead of defeating the primordial sea-monsters like the mighty Tohorin did, the only worthy one of being the Sun, Regent of the East.

In OUR mythology, Tohorin sacrifices herself by plunging into the horizon while Terasu hesitates, so she is is turned into the Sun and weds the fickle Moon Prince, cucking Terasu in the process, so her sister vows revenge and transforms into the Regent of the Stars, a competing but dim source of light. Both battle eternally, an analogical way of explaining Day and Night. Tohorin was at her weakest point in the Winter Solstice (less sunlight hours) but she always overcame and spilled the Stars' blood into the four corners of the Universe so Spring (and the seasonal cycles of death-life-rebirth) can begin again. Also, this belief was in the ancient past ritually recreated in gladiatorial combat.

That's quite a mythos, and there's always something about the skies that intrigues humankind to this day.

Tesla, Borgovia, and Anarchist organisations had one thing in common throughout the 2018 - 2021 year range. Heidi Osti-Vasquez, a Borgovian Syndicalist, was collecting donations and pitching in her own personal income to buy Tesla stocks whenever it tanks. She then waits until it shoots high again where she sold it. 80% of the proceeds are then donated to Socialist Organisations like the International Workers of the World, Socialist Rifle Association, and local leftist groups to have resources. She then saves part of her income and the remaining 20% of the stock profits until the stocks tank again, she then buys more, and repeat.

While technically not illegal, she was 'caught' and became a media sensation that she's using Capitalism to empower Socialist movements. Reactions were a mixed bag, some thinking it's ironic Capitalism is needed to fund Socialism, others think she's a traitor by engaging in such activities, some right-wingers called her a sponsor of left-wing terrorism, others think she's an absolute madwoman with big brain trolling. It did, however, resulted in the Borgovian government to investigate where her donations went to ensure she's not supporting terrorist organisations. She was later arrested in March 19th, 2021 after evidence found she donated an equivalent of $48.000 USD to Insurreccion Rojo (Red Insurrection), an Anarchist terrorist organisation operating in Latin America.

Honestly amazed an anarchist terror organization is able to operate on such a level. Quite a nice group to have the spotlight for once. Pretty based nonetheless.

The Holy Church of Mandicoria reserves the right to take sacrifices on worlds they inhabit. Many sacrifices are then brought to be tattooed and then are blessed for a period of 12 days. When the period is up, the High Priest of the local Church will begin the ritual of the flesh. In with the sacrifice is flayed alive by the knife-like mechanical fingers of the unholy clergy. With the tattooed flesh then being bestowed upon a Priest or clergy member deemed worthy of wearing sacred flesh. This ritual allows them to convene with higher powers through the holy vessel that is human flesh.

The Church also transfers the soul of the sacrifice to a new mechanical body to become one with the eternal choir of the clergy.

The skin-flaying would've remind me of Xipe Totec, but the odd pseudo-Catholic transhumanist transfiguration thing caught me off guard.

The Great Continuation War (1951-1952), aka the Anglo-American Nazi War, showed the world that Nazi Germany mis-managed a lot of things in war production that ended in their quick defeat: In the air, Messerschmitt jets were usually thrashed by US F-84 Thunderjets and British DeHavilland Vampires/Venoms that had more powerful engines, showing that German slave-manufactured turbine designs had actually lost their edge since 1944 (like OTL). When the conventional bombing of Europe began, German interceptors had a hard time stopping a lot of the British-based B-29 bombers, let alone the B-36 Convair intercontinental bombers that entered the later phases of the war. In contrast, Hitler's fascination with flying wing designs was actually a liability, as they had low reliability and had no means of stabilizing flying wing designs with 1950s computer technology so most of their bombers were sitting ducks. At sea, Nazi Germany's Plan Z surface-fleet Kriegsmarine did worse and was blown out of the water by combined Anglo-American carrier groups during the Iceland Turkey Shoot.

Worse for them, though German rockets did excel, they had small ineffectual payloads...because the ever dogmatic Nazi regime kept denying nuclear physics as "Jewish Physics" (like OTL) and the remnants of the defeated USSR's vengeful NKVD fooled the Nazis into thinking that the US nuclear program was an impossible failure, though America had 180 A-bombs by 1951...which they ended up using after Führer Himmler tried using nerve gas in the French front. *Note: the US conventionally bombed Japan into submission as early as April of 1945 in another previous war. Curtis LeMay's "Alpha Strike" plan for a nuclear attack involving all the US' arsenal was adopted.

TL;DR: Nazi Germany got curbstomped in the 1950s in a war they started, so the Nazi Uberweapons meme isn't popular.

Sucks to be German at that particular point of time. Would have made the Wehraboos shut up.

Project Cybersyn was Chile's attempt to create a decision support system to aid in the management of the Chilean economy. It consisted of four modules: an economic simulator, custom software to check factory performance, an operations room, and a national network of telex machines that were linked to one of the mainframe computer. All of it was encapsulated in one room.

Work begun under Allende and until the 1973 election that saw Pinochet's electoral victory where it was completed. Cybersyn had little use for Pinochet as the economy drifted from a planned economy to a laissez-faire one through shock therapy programmes so they changed directions and visions for the project. Pinochet took a step further and created Cybersyn II where the telex network module was configured to transmit information between supercomputers in the form of messages and images.

So basically Pinochet took credit for Allende's work and invented the proto-Chilean internet.

Sounds like a sweet concept! We were considering to include the efforts of Allende and the Cybersyn into our main canon.

Arcadia had entered the Great War after the Lusitania sinking in 1915 and brought victory to the Entente on April 3, 1917.

That's surprising, given how little the supposed equivalent to this event (The US entering WW1) had with Germany's defeat.

While Israel and Iran have very good relations, especially in the context of other states in the Middle East, both know that their good relations have little to do with any actual diplomacy and all to do with the fact that while some states refuse to recognize Israel and while some other states recognize both Israel and Palestine, the State of Iran refuses to recognize an entity named "Palestine" and had actively bombed the territories held by various powers under the Palestinian Authority throughout 1990 and 2000s in heavy campaigns that would put the Coalition Bombings in Yemen to shame, and only stopped doing so when it helped Israel finally annex the territory in 2013.

I mean, if you're currently not running anything & got nothing better to do, then why the hell not, I suppose.
It is unusual to find kisses as greetings in Astoria - one of the more popular greeting methods [in an informal setting] is done by raising one's hand in the air & giving a slight bow. In a formal setting, the typical course of greeting is to press one's cheek against the other [commonly known as a cheek rub - while it can also be done in a less formal setting, the former is used].

That's quite unique, so to say.

Whereas in the rest of the world, the rainbow flag is the symbol of LGBT pride, in Palmyrion it's the pink diamond. Back in the Fascist Tripartition of Palmyrion, when modern-day Palmyrion was split between the Royal Confederate loyalists fleeing northwards and two theocratic states - Christian and Muslim - occupying their own territories in the southern areas, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transvestites who were brought to concentration camps by the Christian and Muslim theocracies were identified with a pink diamond patch.

What the hell. That would be like the Jews suddenly starting to etch prisoner numbers as tatoos or start wearing patches of Star of Davids after the Holocaust. Nothin' prideful in using an oppressor's symbol.

The Patagonian equivalent to cowboys and Indians would have to be the Gauchos and the Mapuche tribals that inhabit the vast Pampas region with great soil for farming. The Gauchos are famed in Patagonian mythos and an integral part of Patagonian history next to 1920s radical anarchists and miners. The Gauchos roamed the land with their horses and built communities and farms before moving on to the next. They're skilled horsemen yet were unruly and like to live like freemen - refusing to bow to any state actor like the previous Argentine and Patagonian regimes. They have a mixed relationship with the Mapuches but it is not often that you see them live side by side in a community.

Gaucho culture experienced a revival after the Surrealist Revolution and the break down of society. All of a sudden, the Patron gave them guns and "mechanical horses" (yes, mechanical horses) to act as militias and defenders of the revolution. Now they could be seen roaming the Pampas wasteland and defending their own settlements from bandits. They would occasionally take part in Mapuche raids against Chilean border guards along the Chilean border to acquire supplies.

A lot of your other, relatively anti-religious posts in this thread make more sense when you take into account events of this post. I wonder if any anti-Christian or anti-Islamic laws were established once the whole tripartition thing was done and over with.

Roughly around 5 years in the future of Allied Iran's time, the League of Nations voted into existence the Universal Directive, a project to design a large Ark Ship capable of carrying up to half a million people in cyrostasis to prepare colonization of a star system, Alpha Centauri. This finally culminated into the creation of six Universal Directive Ark Ships: The Resolute, The Unification, Germania, Conquistador, The Hope, and Groundbreaker. These six were equipped with skip-drives, recently-invented "FTL-drives" that allow, depending on an item's mass, Faster-than-light capabilities by tapping into what they called "Skipspace". The six ships, populated by a total of 3 million people from 49 countries all over the world, were deployed. The six ships took off, made off to the edge of the Sol System in 3 months, and entered the skipspace. They were expected to make contact with Earth in Alpha Centauri in 2045. They never did. An error with their skipdrives ensured that they would breach out before reaching Alpha Centauri, and given the way the Skipdrive works, some ended up half-way across the galaxy. And then, in 87 UE, the only survivor of the six, UDAS-005 The Hope, breached out in the Halcyon System in Sildorian Space.

And that's why its important to test new technology before using it on manned missions.

As a side note, I love how you managed to connect your odd FT creation with the universe of your MT nations. Maybe I should connect this nation to The Cosmic Mainframe somehow.

The Progressive-Conservative Party, led by Daniel Shenton, is the oddest of the Confederation's political parties. Created as the Flat Earth Party in 2063, its goal was to "spread the truth of the flat earth." This odd single issue resulted in it losing the 2064 election, receiving only two votes - one from Shenton himself and one from an advisor. After their failure, they brought in an expert political consultant who helped rebrand the party as the Progressive-Conservative Party, which branded itself as a moderate libertarian party. However, when the soon-to-be-ousted leader of the Sovereignty Party expressed sympathy for flat-earthers, the Progressive-Conservative Party responded with a new campaign depicting Daniel Shenton as the "original Flat Earth politician," leading to the party gaining 18 seats in the Federal Assembly (out of 5400) in the 2065 election, more seats than it initially had candidates. Today, it has twelve seats and is still widely ridiculed by the other parties.

I don't get the reference, but a party that retarded shouldn't even have a single vote.

Teams in Amenria's universe tend to be geodesic casts, with every team having a) a leader, b) a lieutenant, c) a support, d) a combat specialist, and e) an auxiliary. The roles can overlap or be redundant, with one person having two roles or multiple people sharing the same role. The role of the auxiliary is anything that doesn't cover the other four. It could be a sneaky rogue, a ranged attacker, or something else.

After the recent Random Rants series WhoTube video about software updates, the new software policy is proposed by the Wallman Foundation.
The policy encourages the software companies to honor the end user's decision not to download an unwanted update, to provide a clear and concise list of features in updates beforehand, to provide an opportunity to rollback at will and to construct the software in a way that ensures its backwards-compatibility with previous versions, so that a user can pick the features of his own liking without conflicts.
