That's not unlike how Germanic rulers elected their kings, but I very much doubt that Empire of "the Britons" is Germanic, yet I don't know much about Briton political systems.
While Sildorians have been sapient for hundreds of thousands of years, they're not the only sapient species born in Silda. The second is the Avarians, a sapient, avian species. While they numbered greatly around places Sildans populated, they only reached pre-sapience 10 years before the unification of the planet under Silda. It took the Sildans a few decades to discover the technology required to uplift them into sapience and introduce them as one of the Full Citizen Species (This happened roughly at the same time Sildans discovered their psionic abilities and became telepaths). There are rumors that Avians had reached sapience around three centuries before that and Sildans -who were using them as livestock- simply didn't care, but there is no way to confirm nor deny that.

We really hope you weren't committing genocide for 3 entire centuries, then again sapients taste terrible and would be fairly easy to tell.

Both the chief and Council of Ten have theoretically unlimited power as there is no constitution to limit them. The only checks to the chief's power is that none of his orders may counteract a Council decree and that Council members cannot be ordered by him/her. While the Council can do anything they want if they have majority, they are powerless when a council is not in session. They have to work together to lead the Armada, the chief leading the military and making quick decisions when the Council is deadlocked or not able to get together in time. The Council making sturdy police that can not be changed on the whims of one man. Chief is kept in check from abusing their power by the Council, and Council's large turnover rate keeps them from abusing power.

(While it's not actually clear whether this was intentional or not, it's not genocide. By human standards its a crime against humanity, but -when you legit don't know if chickens are sapient or not, using them as livestock isn't exactly genocide) /skip

This... can go horribly wrong if there's any bribery.

The Conservatives' League, while holding only 39.4% of the parliament, would have had the biggest parliamentary party (Conservative Party) holding 679 of 1500 seats had it not broken up into 2 parties. Now, the biggest party is the Social Democratic League, holding 402 seats. However, had its constituent parties not decided to combine into one party, it would barely break the top 50% in parliamentary representation in terms of size. In short, the "smaller" parties actually attract the most voters, and what used to be the biggest party, strangely enough, barely holds 40% of the seats.

That's... Actually a pretty high percentage, if I'm to be frank. In any non-FPTP system it's damn hard even for any major party to crack 40%, this nation of mine for instance has the biggest party control only 34% and it's still considered an insane amount.

Germany perfected colonialism, and held onto its huge Mittelafrika colony, stretching north Mozambique to Togoland, until the 1990s - with the remaining lands from a 1994 colonial collapse now counted among the country's voting, represented states. The reasons for the surprising longevity of this system were as follows:
- No conventional warfare on the African continent since the 1920s precluded large amounts of explosives, arms and radical philosophy from propagating in Africa
- Large, continuous and easily-accessible supply routes in and to Africa allowed extreme ease of movement for military and police materiel
- The 1950s and 1960s produced an 'African industrial revolution' in German and, to an extent, French colonies; Quality of life shot up and the Germans claimed credit. Aspects of European urban life such as grocery stores, public schools, contraceptives and mass transit entered Mittelafrika - in most cases, coast-first. Not only did this make the Germans seem less oppressive, it also produced new, internal economic and cultural rivalries that distracted people in Africa from a possible anti-colonial unification. In the words of an American sociologist, "The Germans won the moment Africans changed their perception of Geramnythem from 'evil' to 'whatever', and when they finally gained something to lose".
- Following along with the industrial revolution point, simple manufacturing such as clothing, basic component parts and furniture also moved to Africa and German East Asia to capitalize the lower labor cost. Massive job creation and urbanization changed African life massively, and interlocked their innate culture with German standards of work ethic and collective housing. In fact, Africans gained so many jobs that mainland Germany got a job crisis by 1978.
-Mainland Germany with its close to 150 million inhabitants at the time was far more prepared than smaller countries to shoulder the burden of modernizing Africa, and many Army veterans - of whom there were millions - got jobs as peacekeepers in Africa. In fact, the time finally came when so many positions (managerial, security, public administration) became available for Europeans in Africa that they finally started moving there.

For all those reasons and more, while there were substantial amounts of rebellion to put down especially towards the 1990s (As multiple diplomatic rivals started covertly equipping said rebels, especially the insecure Russia), the only reason the whole mainframe collapsed was because of the German Civil War, which emboldened not only rebels but neighboring African nations, and also weakened Mittelafrika's peacekeeping capacity three times over. Colonial legacy is now deeply embedded in newly-independent African nations, with most of them retaining German institutions and making sure German-owned industry remains in place. The global population of Germany's colonialism is very mixed, with records of brutality in the earlier years and the general perception that Germany's unrepresentative government was "unrightful" contrasting with the economic booms enabled by German industry later.

Given how little colonialism was actually beneficial to the Empire, I'm actually surprised that the more-sane post-WW1 Empire actually followed through with the Mittelafrika Wet Dream. That said, this is all pretty interesting from a worldbuilding perspective. I'm going to assume Africa has a smaller native population (hell "contraceptives") and larger European (mostly German?) population? I'm just hoping an apartheid system wasn't going on to be honest.

The First Contact is a common term that can both refer to a period of early spacefaring Sildorian history and a particular event which directly led to it. Long story short, a Silda surveyor discovered an fleet of unidentified flying vehicles while exploring the Eliathion System. These vehicles were later proven to belong to a "neighboring" interstellar State belonging to a plant-like sapient species named the Xuni. I say "neighbored" because Eliathion is roughly 8 jumps away from Sildora Prime (the Sildorian "capital") and two from the Xuni homeworld of Bhug'Jossk, making the two States roughly 46 light years apart. This engagement pretty much jumpstarted the Sildorian Warmachine which until that point was pretty much non-existent. Within the next 4 years, the Xuni capital had been taken in battle. Only 3 years later, more than 99% of the Xuni population in the Galaxy perished due to an accident occurred during the Terraforming of their Homeworld which made them extra-sensetive to Arctic habitats -which is the sort of habitat that the Silda can live in.

So the Sildorians are very xenophobic and attack the first extraterrestrial civilization they encounter.
Remind me to stay away from them.

Colony 204 is inhabited colony on the exoplanet Gliese 667 Cc forgotten by Earth governments after the Great Interstellar War. Gliese 667 CC itself is cold, tidally locked and the plant life is black (in order to better absorb the light from the red dwarf). The hundred thousand colonialists are governed by a mysterious leader of which almost none of them have seen or heard.

This leader is actually an Artificial Intelligence named CYCLOPS II who has been governing the colony for decades.

We already have an AI overlord in the Earth right now. It's called the technological duopoly that made their thrones in Silicon Valley.

When the Great Revolution ended with Supreme Leader overthrowing the Indianan state government and declared its sovereignity, the National Revolutionary Party took control of the state and banned all other political parties, including Democratic and Republican. Though most of the Republican members ultimately ended up joining the NRP, all leftist ideologies - liberalism, socialism communism, democratic socialist, all were banned within Indiana. Schools are taken up by the Dept. of Education and repurposed into the enllightened learning centers that teaches young people about the great revolutionary ideas of the NRP. Churches, mosques, and temples are closed - the Supreme Leader is admired as the revolutionary founder of the state, bringing Indiana to the greatest country to ever existed.

The Soviet-aligned People Republic of China's current population is about 220 million people after the Mainland was wrecked by the 69230 Hermes asteroid, which went by unnoticed at the height of the Second World War in 1942. It was only a low-volume siliceous rock, if its density would have been greater it would have been far worse. On the "positive side" (if there is actually any one at all) is that it wiped a great deal of the Japanese army within China even if the damaged done to arable land became a major problem for the decades to come.

I must say I am honestly saddened to see China reduced to such a state, even if it possibly is a totalitarian police state like the China of our world. It’s weird as well, hard to believe that China could be so depopulated. I am pleased that Japan suffered setbacks as a result, though the loss of arable land is most, most disheartening.
Cainite Jews comprise the majority of Versilia’s religious individuals. They differ from other Jewish sects in that they strongly believe in the legend of Cain, whom is believed to be the ancestor of all vampires and whose blood is what runs through the veins of every vampire. For context vampires are a species or race of humans as closely related to homo sapiens as Neanderthals were and are living, breathing people - albeit with a dietary requirement for blood, longer lifespans and more predatory nature among other biological differences. In the story it is told that God punished Cain for his sins by cursing him to forever walk the Earth, believed to mean Cain is immortal and wanders even today. Vampires are believed to have the "diluted" blood of Cain as they’re not immortal but merely very long lived. For this reason most vampires speak Hebrew or Yiddish either as first or second languages. Religious differences have also led to deeply entrenched tension between vampires of the varying Abrahamic faiths, and vampires have unfortunately repeatedly given into their predatory natures to destroy what they perceive to be heretics - in this timeline, the Jews usually came out victorious, which helped cement Cainite Judaism’s moral authority among vampires.

Akeldama, whom hails originally from what is now Georgia, was born presumably in 457 BC and only converted to Judaism in the 2nd century AD after being initiated by vampires of this sect. Prior to this she had no real religion and was a pagan. To this day she remains a devout Jew and has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life and opportunities for Jews even of other sects around the world, though she remains committed to her own sect. She is considered a face of vampire Zionism.

(Edit: It should be noted that Akeldama is of a vampire subrace and is biologically immortal due to a slightly different heritage and genetic code.)

But do they view him as a "good guy" who was punished unfairly? Or do they just believe in his story stronger? I mean, clearly vampires aren't "humans", per se, so the story is categorically false even with that premises, but the question remains nonetheless.

No.So the first generation of actors played as the seventh generation characters. Our President Reza Mortazavi is actually a spy working for the CIA as part of the CIA's project called OPERATION ZENITH. An operation conducted by the CIA to plant loyal agents into the political scene or government of a country. They are otherwise known as manufactured opposition or manufactured leaders as part of the RATTLESNAKE secret organization. These agents were taken and conditioned at a very young age. Reza has been a CIA spy since he was young and his humble origins as a village boy in Isfahan was made up by his handler to give him a past to look back to as well as a story to inspire the Iranian people. Which is why his opponents are suspicious of the lack of records about Reza's time in Iran.

In actuality, his father who joined the protest against the Shah during the 1953 coup was killed by Shahist thugs and Reza became an orphan before landing on an missionary-run orphanage as a front for the CIA. From there, he was selected among a group of candidates to become so-called "Infiltrators" and went through rigorous ideological brainwashing to adhere to American values of freedom and democracy as well as close quarter combat to breed the next generation of loyal-American political activists and potential leaders in the Third World. The CIA had implanted false memories on Reza's mind through drugs and Reza could only remember brief flashes of his times in a CIA compound.

Reza goes by the code name "Mufti" and was used by the CIA as a backup plan in case the Shah was toppled but they had been using him to attempt to fan the flames of the Iranian Revolution in order to dethrone the increasingly-bold Shah Pahlavi. The CIA knew that the Islamists had an upper hand over the liberal nationalists during the revolution and ordered Reza to execute Operation Brutus in which he personally killed Khomeini by spicing his drink with cyanide during a meeting and then pinned the blame on the Iraqis in order to rile up the Iranian against the Iraqis in the future Iran-Iraq War and bring balance to the political playing field between liberal and Islamists.

From then on, Reza would reluctantly serve American interests in Iran in Operation Gladio but not without attempting to become a double spy for the KGB in order to balance East and West influences as well as preserve Iranian national sovereignty and democracy.

After the success of the Nojeh Coup; Iran becomes a transitional regency, hybrid (military) regime which clamps down on everything politically Islamic. Now suffering from an Afghan-like insurgency from the Quds and MEK, and intricate deep state politics between the Gang of Four.
The "Persagonian Republic" is a misnomer. We are a transitional regency.

Terrorists backfire on Washington, now Manchurian Candidates do too...but at least Carter won't screw things up with indecisiveness, there's a contingency plan. If that can be considered good, then again, most ideologies are "good" in comparison to Islamism.

The early phase of the Cold War in this timeline led the Korean War to turn into the Chinese-American War (1950-1959). Some historians and conspiracy theorists consider the war to have been a Stalinist plot under an apocryphal "Operation Eagle-Trap" to ensnare the USA into a land war in the Chinese mainland. Others simply consider that the US leaders, particularly President Truman and General Douglas MacArthur, over-estimated the weakness of the Chinese after they were hit by the 1942 Hermes meteor. In any case, the US wasted billions into advancing into Manchuria and landing to start an upwards battle from Canton while propping up the ROC again. Just like in the Civil War, the CCP blasted that the ROC's generals were corrupt cronies and ex-Japanese collaborators, now acting as puppets for the USA. Firebombing Chinese cities backfired, and it destroyed any credibility and support base the KMT had. Meanwhile the rural communists -expert partisans- took on to wage another protracted war, this time armed with WW2-era Soviet weapons sent directly from Mongolia and Siberia.

In any case, the war itself was a godsend for the Soviets: Mao Zedong died, the KMT and ROC were still eventually kicked out of the mainland, the immensely Anti-American CCP was forced closer into Moscow's directives and could still serve as an important bulwark against a Unified Korea, China itself was significantly weakened and the USA got battered. In the US, the war's toll, +64,000 killed plus hundreds of thousands injured, led to bouts of isolationism among the US middle class and Dixiecrats.

I'm curious. If McArthur was successful in convincing Truman that a war with China was actually a good thing, how did he fail to convince him to drop some nukes on a few coastal cities to facilitate the invasion? That said, this seems like overall a good thing. A weakened and battered China that can't bully its neighbors or Africa, an isolationist US which means more European action against communism, and a dead Mao. Of course, a more powerful USSR (though you also said USSR wastes a lot of resources the next decade over the Space Race, I think, which balances it out) isn't a good thing but the good far outweighs the bad here imo.

When they became sapient, the Silda were latent psionic. One out of -approximately- every million had the ability to manipulate their surroundings using psionic energy and telepathy. While there is no actual causation, many important people in pre-unification history of Sildora were psionic. This state of being continued until the Battle of Jhapp, the first major victory that the Galactic Forces managed to muster against the Swarm -which also ensured that the Cynn would not go extinct like the other 105 species that had been devoured whole by the Swarm beforehand. This victory proved the "Galaxy's Mettle" to the Galogex Imperium, a Fallen Empire of the Galogex who joined the fray, claiming the title Guardian of the Galaxy for the duration of the crisis, and came to help. The Galogex, themselves a Psionic species that only conversed with each other -and with other species- telepathically, helped awaken the ability in all Silda to help the war effort.

Good this improves military readiness.

In sharifistan conscription usually happens at age 16 though conscripts are provided with education,

Oh, let's break it down!

That's actually pretty nice and wholesome, at least at the end of the fact, of course. It's typical that I will already be hearing about how they are nearly devoured by other species, only to have another species reignite their abilities to help them out. It's like hearing a heartful story of a cat and a dog, I love it! ^^

Is the Swarm dead yet? I hope so! Either that, or I hope that they can never bother you again.

On a side note, other than wars between species, I suppose that there are also Civil Wars between themselves too? I mean, of course, I personally would use my powers for good and to help out, but you will never know when someone goes mad with power and started hauling a moon at your rival just because "He beat you in a running contest". Man, such times will be rough!

AN: "In sharifistan conscription usually happens at age 16 though conscripts are provided with education,"

Of course, of course! You know what they say: An army marches on its belly, but the army can charge with a bigger brain and smarts. :P My butchering of the quote aside.. yeah, I can agree to that. A little iffy on that 16 y/o conscription age, though.

That is a rather cute, yet terrifying prospect to imagine giant feeling creatures being used as weapons of wars. Although, I do feel bad for cats. What if they get hurt from those attacks... actually, wouldn't the radiation hurt them? Those poor cats! Ah well, they are quite cute godzilla creatures, if deadly.

Talk about revenge, also you can rp in the WA?

Fall of Terra

After the foundation of the Hallacoryan Imperium, a new capital has been planned to replaced Terra; A bustling population filled with death and poverty, only being a pain to the Imperium's economy, they stripped the planet's resources for further construction of the new capital and forced people who can't even afford interstellar travel to move out, those who didn't will be left to rot in the abandoned planet with no food and hope. And so, Terra was left abandoned for the entirety of the Hallacoryan period going into the into a parasitic era where the parasites ignored Terra due to being empty of hosts.
Terra decayed until it was destroyed by the second extinction of the parasites where it was accidentally blown up by the Precursors during the battle. The only memory to the planet is a few historical and technological records about the planet which is stored here and the archives.

How does one 'accidentally' blow up a planet? That seems like a pretty damn big glitch.

The Godulans are allied with the nation of Balrogga, which is primarily ruled by an ascended race known as the Ta'Nar and their subsidiaries. In many ways, the prolonged relationship has caused a degree of convergent technological evolution between the two nations. Though they employ largely dissimilar technology trees, they can still lay claim to very similar capabilities.

Case in point: The Kython Scourge. As a joint project between the Godulans and Balroggans, two separate strains of Kython were developed. While the Godulan Strain relies more heavily on technological means to reappropriate enemy war materiel into their own resources, primarily in the form of a disintegration/reintegration process, the Balroggan Strain employs more supernatural methods. Specifically, a magic-infused intelligent metal known as Thur'tagh LITERALLY infects matter that it comes into contact with and turns it into more of itself. Both strains employ a shape-shifting capacity to essentially grant itself full access to the assorted weapons complement that both source nations have available.

An important rule of thumb in distinguishing the two strains is to look at the color and overall shape of the Kythonstuff. If it's a crystalline structure that grows a vibrant green and has a lot of spines, it's the Godulan Strain. If it's an oily black blob with copious amounts of blades, it's the Balroggan Strain.

If you see either, you're screwed.
