You should probably try modernising that sometime.
The Haudegen Reich, internationally recognized as Occupied Svalbard, informally known as the Fourth Reich, is a de-jure rogue successor state established by remnant polities and surviving loyalists of the German Reich following it's surrender and dissolution. The government was reluctantly founded by Wilhelm Dege with the support of his 11-man specialised Wehrmacht Unit attached to Operation Haudegen, a military expedition to the islands of Svalbard conducted in late September 1944. Despite the unit's wishes to dissolve the successor government and surrender the islands to the allies, it's legitimacy was reinforced by Field Marshall Robert Ritter von Greim and diehard loyalists of the 1st SS Division 'Leibstandarte', who maintained the society inhabiting the island and it's status as a successor to the Reich, after fleeing to the islands to escape Allied prosecution.

I'm actually confused why Nazi Germany actually decided to attack a bunch of arctic islands. I mean sure, the idea behind "The Third Reich but they're reduced to an arctic island" is interesting as long as you don't ask how they eat, etc. given the US blockade but it's... wonky. No more than anything I've ever written tho.
.

While the governing clique of the Sildorian Empire has maintained that Sildorians discovered the Hyperlane network themselves, there is evidence that in reality, this was the indirect result of unrestricted, aggrsesive observation of Silda by an as-of-yet unknown precursor spacefaring species that lost control of both the observation post and the Sila System around 15 Standard Galactic Years before Sildorians became spacefaring. One of the primary innitiatives of the Guild of Surveyors has been searching for evidence of that species and its possible fate.

The Islands is actually self-sustainable for up to 3,000 people, I believe. Kind of like a floating city-state. But yes, life would still be incredibly difficult.

Quite an intriguing history it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out if they exist

n 1786, during the creation of the Constitution of the United States, Alexander Hamilton suggested that George Washington should become the King of the United States, Washington accepted the offer to ensure stability. The modern United States is a constitutional monarchy in which the reigning monarch (that is, the king or queen who is the head of state at any given time) does not make any open political decisions. Under the American constitution, executive authority lies with the monarch, although this authority is exercised only by, or on the advice of, the prime minister and the cabinet. The House of Hamilton (founded by Prime Minister Alexander Hamilton) is the current reigning royal house of the United States which succeeded the House of Washington to the American monarchy following the death of King George I who died without a legitimate heir.

It's nice that your "Monarchist America" alternate history is grounded in something close to real events. Though I'm honestly surprised that Alexander Hamilton would have wanted the US to grant titles of nobility.

The Cosmic Mainframe invented the technology for travel between universes nine years ago. At the moment it's highly unreliable, often arriving at a time as much as a year different from the time at which they are intended to arrive. This works both ways; it is expected that anyone or anything sent into another universe could return far later than expected, or sometimes before they are actually sent.

It all is gibberish to us, we have no care for how a government run by peasants operates, it's all rather silly.

One of the many human like peoples that call Vlaandia home are the Dwarves, or Dawi. They are shorter than humans, robust and stocky in nature. They have flatter skulls, a large nose, shorter limbs, a wide brow, a wider chest, and often said to have apish features. Dawi prefer to live in caves, or in hilly submerged housing, and have keen eyesight even at night. The Dawi seem to not get along with Elephants oddly enough, much unlike Humans who have made many of them their companions.

It is a pretty commonly accepted trope that Dwarves are mountain people who (mostly) are good with forges, drinking and not much else. I see that you have added to your world-building that they also dislike elephants.

While Sildorians have been sapient for hundreds of thousands of years, they're not the only sapient species born in Silda. The second is the Avarians, a sapient, avian species. While they numbered greatly around places Sildans populated, they only reached pre-sapience 10 years before the unification of the planet under Silda. It took the Sildans a few decades to discover the technology required to uplift them into sapience and introduce them as one of the Full Citizen Species (This happened roughly at the same time Sildans discovered their psionic abilities and became telepaths). There are rumors that Avians had reached sapience around three centuries before that and Sildans -who were using them as livestock- simply didn't care, but there is no way to confirm nor deny that.

Interesting, the various anthro species of Pelferia kinda all evolved salience roughly simultaneously from a wide variety of different animals, which is why you can speak and interact with with anthro dogs, rabbits, bats, birds, lizards, and many more just like you would with normal humans.

That's strange. Why would sapience just sorta kick into effect at such similar times? Why would species without any relation to apes anthropomorphize in the first place?

The German Nobility in the 20th Century has been on the wrong side of history several times. They went against the 1920s Constitutional reforms and were implicated in the corruption scandals of that decade and the next, which caused them to lose power. After a reconciliation with the government during the Second Great War, they (and especially their counterparts in the Ukraine, the Baltic Duchy etc.) became antagonists in Germany's ideological and geopolitical conflict with Russia, as they had many Slavic relatives and thus could not partake in the Russophobic public opinion of the time; In Germany's allies with Russian populations, they bankrolled parties which stuck to toleration and went against a potential expulsion of Russians in Ukraine. However, after the German Civil War of 1994, where the nobles played a notable role in defeating communism, and the St Petersburg Coup of 1998, which brought democracy back to Russia and wound down the national rivalry with Germany, the blue-blooded class was vindicated. While nobility does not come with any explicit legal privileges anymore, it is now once again a badge of honor and dignity, and German nobles in the 21st Century work hard to maintain that perception.

Nobility has -most of the places- been on the wrong side of history multiple times. With that in mind, given now they have no legal privileges (as opposed to the 19-20th century German Empire) you can't blame them for not being pro-reform in the 1920s thing. Also, is "opposing a possible ethnic cleansing" really being on the wrong side of history?

The Allies must have forgotten about "Unconditional Surrender"...that or they must want to purposely see how long several thousand lonely men can go on living stably in some snowy rocks.

The Green Revolution was/is substantially delayed in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis and WW3, also known as the 100 Hours' War, and as of the year 2000 only about 3.9 billion people live in planet Earth. This is in part because of secondary political turmoil caused by the war in South Asia didn't allow for mass implementation of those means and because plans became sidetracked in the immediate worldwide economic crisis afterward. Some conspiracy theorists suspect that some European powers resettled in the Maghreb and Egypt weren't too keen on supposedly tipping the balance of power to the Southern Hemisphere and obstructed high-yield crop imports to the 3rd World, though this explanation is flimsy at best.

Anyway, it's reasonable that nations couldn't hold up their climate goals while also recovering from what sounds like a nuclear apocalypse. Could be a problem in the future though.

I don't know what a Green Revolution is, but based on what's written here I would assume it's the expansion of advanced agriculture that allowed the world population to grow so large in our reality. On the one hand, the planet's resources and natural environment would far less strained by a population that's barely half of ours... but without the agriculture to produce food, famine and starvation might well be a far more serious problem in Las Palmeras' world even than it is in ours, especially for the peoples of poorer countries that evidently depend on subsistence agriculture in this timeline. Perhaps Las Palmeras or some other superpower could work on spreading birth control in tandem with high-yield agriculture, so famine can be reduced without an explosion in the world population.

The time travel thing actually makes a good deal of sense, honestly! Time and space are two sides of the same coin according to Einstein's theories, so it's certainly no stretch to say that new and untested methods of space travel could result in unexpected time travel as well, especially when dealing with the very fabric of the universe as this technology most certainly does.

While live action shows and movies certainly do exist in Antarctica, the main form of popular media here is a cartoon format called kalanta. It shares some of the expressive and artistic qualities of Japanese anime, but the characters are drawn with much more realistic proportions. The main goal in kalanta is writing realistic and multifaceted characters who could pass as real people, and showing accurately how they react to the world around them, and their actions and interactions are often the main driver of the plot. They are hand-drawn and shown at rates of 36 frames per second, which creates a more realistic sense of motion without sacrificing the choppy quality that engages viewers. As such, they take a great amount of time, money, and effort to produce; Antarcticans are perfectly used to television shows with eight episodes a season, and movies that take several years to produce. In fact, they rather enjoy it, as the slow production schedules create a sense of anticipation.

You have my attention, but the specific details of the 36 frames per second gained my interest. I was wondering whether a law or just the tradition defined it. But I take that it's the latter since the implication is really neat, the fact that technical details are defined (more or less) by the culture to find simulate real-life motions and how much episodes there are in a season exists. It kinda sounds that they are: "From the moment they wake, they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue". Though this brings me to two questions, is there any indie community around it or is it one of those arts that you have to devote years, tears, sweats, and blood into? Also, are there any kalanta-boos and kalanta-snobs?

Communalism is one of the many virtues of the Soviet Culture. Citizens are not seen as an individual, but they also represent their hometown and their current residence. Achieving something marvelous will bring more benefits to those two areas. Higher portions of the budget, better development of their infrastructure, commissions (a special type of currency*) will be more readily available. Party officials will send praises to both the achiever and their hometown and residence. These places might even earn themselves a prestigious visit from the Prime President themself, essentially opening their local economy to a massive influx of tourism. The opposite, however, is also true.

If a citizen commits a misdemeanor (or worse, a felony), the citizen will pay for their crime(s) of course, but the community will be as well. As mentioned as an example before, people achieving something great might practically lose their career or even despised by their work-comrades. Commissions will be limited, their infrastructure development will slow down as materials will be given to another region of a higher (or just slightly higher) priority than these affected places, and they might get budget cuts, essentially handing over the decentralized control to a centralized military command and get martial laws to be enacted upon them. These places will also get blacklisted to prevent any of its citizens to work or to study anywhere else in the Republic. A criminal (in label) will not only get the wrath of the government, but also their neighbors', their friends', even their family members', and even a complete stranger's whose future is most likely ruined due to the stupidity of the criminal. Another aspect of communalism is going through a challenge together.

The other citizens will (have to) work hard to restore their name, while the criminal will not get executed. They could be tortured (and by torture, it means not by vigilantes and such. Instead, they must make a proper document and send it to the Commissariat) and be forced to work in an area bordered with one-way glass. Other citizens won't see what's behind the wall. The Commissariat found out that reeducation is basically useless. They need to be tickled in their nostalgia for what it once feels like to be free. This is purely done just to add insult to injury. It's in front of them, but the one thing standing between the two of them is an armed guard tower with non-lethal rifles just so they can be dragged back only to realize how futile their escape attempt was, that is, if they even have the will to do so.

If a criminal does manage to escape, however, there still will be no place in the Republic for them. It is heavily implied in the Soviet Culture that someone escaping from the law or their will-be punishments are nothing more but a coward who has little-to-no care towards their comrades they left behind who will have to pay for what they had done. They are worse than criminals, they're the manifestation of the demonized bourgeoisie themself, a character so cartoonishly evil, even an executioner or a bounty hunter will puke at their sight. They can live in the forests, sure. But most forests have a specific use and are patrolled by the Border Guards. Sea is not an option as Naval Exercise happens daily. Orbit wouldn't be of much use as well, since they will get detected, and if they can't give any identity, they're essentially cannon (or should I say missile) fodder for artillery inspection (i.e., they will be let around in orbit until the inspector arrived at the inspecting grounds).

Every citizen regardless of profession earn the same pay from the Universal Basic Income Program. Every worker regardless of the profession will all receive the same pay to give the illusion of Command-Economy equality. The more difficult or the more powerful the profession is, they will be given commissions. Commissions are a special currency earned for a specific usage only. A transport commission will be given to pay for transport or motor pool fees. A luxury commission will be given to buy luxurious items (ironic, I know). And so on. However, these commissions are not interchangeable. They have a set value but they are tied to the Identity Card of the citizen who earned it. They can be transferred to someone else, but this too requires a Transfer Commission, and they cannot split the value. The Denar (the official currency) can only be used to pay for primary necessities. They cannot be used to pay for a car, instead, a Vehicle Commission is used. Commissions are in the form of cards and have both biometric and QR codes to render the card useless after a payment. If someone else tried to use another person's commission, the commission will be rendered useless when checked and this person might be jailed for forgery.

Sovietstanica wrote:[align=justify]You have my attention, but the specific details of the 36 frames per second gained my interest.

Hey, I just want to say, thank you so much for your interest! It really makes me feel good about what I write!

Ah, yes, it's an industry tradition. The government sometimes puts out funny and quirky kalanta ads to promote government initiatives, but that's pretty much the limit of their involvement - our constitution prevents the government from meddling in the popular media too much. The big kalanta studios are the ones that most Antarcticans watch, most of the time, just due to the sheer quality of their experienced and talented writers, but there certainly are small indie studios all over the place, where new and aspiring writers can do what they love and polish their work before applying to the big studios in good time. Most Antarcticans are happy to watch indie kalanta every now and then, to support the "little guy" writers, and they do their best to send constructive feedback whenever they have any. After a skilled writer has spent a good several years in the indie studios, the big studios will tend to seek them out and take them under their wing. As for kalanta-boos, there are definitely a good few of them all around the world, particularly in the southernmost parts of South America, Africa, and Australia. We love them to death, and occasionally they even immigrate here to live in the kalanta lover's paradise, so to speak. :D There are maybe a handful of kalanta snobs, because some people are always just going to be like that, but the vast, vast majority of Antarcticans vehemently reject such snobbery and they do their best to fight it off whenever they see it in themselves. They consider treating everyone in an open-minded and forgiving way to be an essential part of being a kalanta fan.

Thanks again, so much! If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! :D

"Now we can see you! There is no escape!" - that's how you guys sound. Orwellian in the worst way.

The German Civil War saw many veterans go into the music industry, with many having been inspired both by their experiences and by the wide range of aggressive music they'd been exposed to by fellow troopers. The war gave a massive boost to hard rock and metal, and the styles also underwent a change, with percussion having a greater emphasis; Drum solos and use of literal explosives (usually blank artillery cartridges, whether real or sampled) became a common sight. This new musical phenomenon is known as Kasernenrock, or Barracks Rock; Americans simply refer to it as Prussian Rock, because it's one of the first musical movements that gained prominence in North America.

Ah, many a bards have been former soldiers, hardened by the experience of war, they often turn to song to express their thoughts in a way most productive, creating great tales about any moment of their campaign. I am unfamiliar with the terms to describe this music, but I am sure that it is master class. After all, war, civil war especially, brings out the greatest ballads in men.

One of the most fearsome creatures to roam the lands and skies of Vlaandia are dragons. They come in many shapes and sizes, but are all nonetheless powerful beast, with the largest of them as large as a horse. Imagine that, a scaly beast the size of a horse flying high in the sky going after ones live stock! Dragons are not simple creatures however, they are deceptively intelligent and greedy creatures, and lust for gold and jewels.

They are also a fearsome threat, as most dragons can spray a noxious spray that can burn and blister the skin and boil blood, cursing the poor soul to feel as if they are on fire. Thus in order to avoid the horrid dragon's fire, a dragon slayer should be sure that both they and their mount are properly protected, since one does not have to worry about a dragon attacking a blind spot, the reduction of ones vision is a critical trade off if one wishes to reduce the chance of their vile spit from hitting ones face and corroding it to the bone.

Lesson of the Day: If you find a male dragon in a cave with his hoard, do not try sneaking away some treasure. Dragons have really good awareness of their surroundings, and he will spray his venom at you, it will hurt, you will feel as if you're on fire, your blood will boil and skin blister, it will be a slow and agonizing death.

So, a crossover between the splitters of Left 4 Dead 2 and traditional dragons. Gotcha.

The native Nacradian language, which has become less used in favour of English, has a complex noun declension system, where a noun can assume prefixes, suffixes or different vowel shifts to denote grammatical case, to whom this noun belongs to, and also animacy or inanimacy, in a fairly predictable manner. Also, noun genders actually do convey meaning here. (Looking at you, German!)

It is most unfortunate to see the Balkan peoples oppressed and somewhat replaced by Turks and Russians. Though independence is great, it means nothing if you did not remove every Russian or Turkish settler from Balkan soil.
The Empire of the Britons is a federal monarchy. The head of state is the High King/Queen of the Britons, who is elected upon the convening of a Moot between the royals who head the administration of the country’s federal constituent states or provinces. Though any of the voters in the Moot could become head of state, it is most often from amongst the children of the bow deceased or abdicated monarch that the successor is crowned.
