Always fascinated about the fashion and styles of middle age people.

Finally..they are called nowadays as the Ancient Coryans. a millenia of them being the inter galactic power, after searching through the stars once more, they found a unlikely civilization; the Nurudians, they were only a single planet and the Imperium was overconfident of kicking out a single planetary body, their fleets appear before the planet and began the Hallacoryan-Nurudian War.

The War was brutal for the Nurudians, the population declined for over a month into 55%. But then something came, a new plague broke out on the battlefield, each one of them finding a wounded soldier and taking it over as a host, effectively becoming space zombies. The Planet was infected, it slowly crawled it's way to the Imperium colonies via Dropships, nobody knows where it came from and how did it happened, The only thing is that the so-called "Parasitic Invaders" are now on the verge of galactic infection.

The Imperium and the remaining Nurudians called for a truce, they both worked together as a way to preserve their own species, unfortunately, it already happened, the parasite now conquers the galaxy itself, the remaining non-parasitic hosts are on a EXPO-ship near the planet Titanuma, they were already being infected and so they sent 500 million escape pods that were designed to be the universe's last hope, and hope will it be. The Ship was infected and was preparing for crashing into Titanuma's Atmosphere but thankfully, it self-destructed itself.
For a Hundred thousand years...

Space zombie soldiers? Woah, that is some SCP material right over there in all meanings, but is good that two countries at war declared a truce to try save each other.

After the discovery of aliens living among our nation, some began their career in Media, for example the petrosapien Petryx Sigma being the presenter for the Petryx Sigma show, a late night TV show centered in comedy and irony.
The show has become quite popular in the nation, and also offered a view of how much someone with origins from outer space is a lot like us.
Also to note, the 1st space regiment has been created as of recent to help eventual space refugees escape from dangerous places due to their ideologies.

Pretty much the first time I've seen a nation respond to something like that without going mad & shooting everything that so much as moves - well done!

It is unusual to find kisses as greetings in Astoria - one of the more popular greeting methods [in an informal setting] is done by raising one's hand in the air & giving a slight bow. In a formal setting, the typical course of greeting is to press one's cheek against the other [commonly known as a cheek rub - while it can also be done in a less formal setting, the former is used].

Kisses can easily go wrong unlike your specified means of greetings, so it’s not unreasonable to have different kinds of greetings. But the cheek rub is questionable, however, because that can be misinterpreted similar to kissing. Nonetheless, these greetings are an interesting peek at Astorian customs.

The planet of Chikyu is often considered the future successor of Earth, retaining almost the same tectonic, geographic, and atmospheric traits as Earth. Although smaller than Earth, Chikyu is very much a familiar place to humans who might stumble upon it. But the similarities end when one closely looks at the ocean currents, winds, and biomes.

Europe is a cold and barren wasteland. North of the Alps, the Pyrenees, Carpathian, and Caucasus mountains, tundra and taiga dot the landscape. South of those mountains, the climate is warmer, paving the way for fertile and habitable lands.

The Middle East is a much greener place. Instead of endless expanses of sand and dust, temperate forestland and grassland sprout across the lands. Thanks to the cold air that sweeps down upon Europe, snowfall befalls upon the Iberian region and northwest Africa; however, Africa is what shields the Middle East from most of the bitter cold.

Africa is a much greener place as well, although North Africa is vast steppes and coastal chaparrals. Within the Egyptian region and everywhere else along the Nile, forestland is prominent, with redwood trees sprouting within the area. With equator being situated much higher than on Earth, the Middle East and Northern Africa receive just the right amount of humidity and heat to not become dry nor too wet to form rainforests.

By contrast, the Indian subcontinent is a characterized by southern/coastal tropical forests, plateaus in the center, and fertile highlands up north (modern-day Ladakh). Eastward, China and Mongolia are largely dry and inhospitable, with civilizations only able to sprout by staying along the Yangtze River. Southeast Asia is mostly tropical, with Australis being a green and fertile continent. This is thanks to the Indonesian archipelagos largely shielding it from the cool air coming from the Japanese archipelagos and Iceland. Nevertheless, Australis received some of the harshest snowfall due to its southern location in the world.

That's almost as if modern day Japan sold the 370Z to Americans under the name "Holy Roman Empire." It makes no sense, but it's amusing.

It's actually a somewhat common problem in the Cosmic Mainframe to become trapped in a simulation. The Mental Enhancement Units most of the population uses allow them to enter a virtual world, and they sometimes malfunction and make it impossible to exit the virtual world. For example, if the MEU believes that the body is completely paralyzed, it automatically places the person's consciousness in virtual reality to reduce the adverse effects locked-in syndrome can have on the mind, but this failsafe can be triggered by a malfunction in the brain-computer interface. Another issue may be that the system for "waking up" from virtual reality is failing due to a misconfiguration. Thankfully, the MEU can usually be repaired within hours, preventing someone from staying in the virtual world for too long. Sometimes, however, a severe malfunction can cause one to become trapped in virtual reality for days, months, or, in one case, 281 years. People who are trapped for this long tend to develop delusions that the physical world is a simulation within the virtual world, and they often confuse physical and virtual reality.

That's even good. I bet there are no losers in your country.

Vulgarians didn't take their name of nation because they are vulgar. Their name comes from lake Vulga (Vulgarians were calling Volga like that). They came from northern Volga.
And Graznavians took their name from lake Grazija (Graznavians were calling Vetluga river like that). So that means they came from Vetluga.
A slavic union of two technologically medieval nations: Vulgaria and Graznavia living in the other dimension called Bermudinia. One more thing. Don't call me lazy! I just have more important things than NS. And I'm not a furry!

"Once you become big, never forget where you came from" vibe from that fact of yours. Gave me some geography of your people's origins too, so that's nice.

2026 was a time of Social Media trolling between Mexicans and Borgovians. A Borgovian woman won Miss Universe, the first time her nation won such an award and Mexican social media users started joking about her statement that she's proud to be Latina. The joke was "Are Borgovians really Latino? Eating everything with curry and soy sauce isn't Latino". Borgovians joked back asking if Mexicans are Latinos because they worship Aztec civilisation whereas Borgovia worships Greco-Roman civilisation and base a lot of their philosophy on perceived Greco-Roman values, even if Sinic values influenced the later part of Borgovia's history. It was called a flame war because Anglo American and European observers honestly can't tell the difference between regional sibling banter and outright online nationalism since both Mexicans and Borgovians are sardonic; Borgovians being more acerbic with Mexicans being more jovial.

2026 Miss Universe winner, Katarina Tran-Postigo, was wearing a light pink coloured dress that combines the Qipaoand Lehenga in that it's silky Qipao style dress with Chinese style art sewn on it of hibiscus and plum blossoms. Like the Lehenga, it has several layers and golden flowers sewn on those 'layers'. Miss Tran-Postigo also has a golden chestplate fashion item, a lotus flower shoulder, jade wristband, and her hair is made into a bun that looks like a flower with green hairpieces keeping it in place. Since the judges are sitting on top of a stage, it looks like a pink lotus flower with a green center if she spins like a Sufi mystic. The joke was about Borgovia's adaptation of so many cultures into its own that it's difficult to determine if they're Latinos or not.
Was once a ruthless capitalist Corporate State in South America (1800s - 1950s), but has since reformed into a Social Democratic, Federal, Parliamentary Republic whose politics is 90% of my irl views. We're Italo-Spanish-Chinese influenced and thus there's a lot of Chinese and Greco-Roman cultural references.

The world in this nation is changing for the better, current year is 2042.

Call us "Borgovia".

> 2016 Ankara City Protests
Commonly known as the April Twelfth Incident, the events were student-led demonstrations held in the southern-region of Kabzeel. The protests took place from 26 January to 12 April when the government declared martial law and sent the military to occupy central parts of Ankara.

Common grievances at the time included corruption, alleged persecution of Muslims, and restrictions on political participation. However, the government blamed the President of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Erdoğan, for inciting much of the violence of the protesters with anti-Kabzeel sentiment and accusing him of using Turkish agents to infiltrate the masses.

Kabzeel, meaning "God's Gathering" in hebrew, is a federal, dominant-party, socialist(non-marxist)constitutional monarchy with a rich Jewish heritage dating back to it's creation in 845 CE. Today, it spans almost the entirety of Eastern Europe and is the largest predominately Jewish and female-led state in the world as it follows the doctrine of "Royal Socialism", a paternalistic conservative ideology with an emphasis on socialization, social ownership, and conservative feminism. Its relationship with Israel is noticeably rocky, but this is due to the ongoing complications between Kabzeelian and Israeli Zionism.

Honestly I find persecution of Muslim and restriction of their "right" to political participation as a good thing, but it is also a sign of authoritarianism, of which corruption is a symptom. Using military to "stop" a student-led protest against corruption is just a flat out bad idea.

While the conquest of Denmark indeed opened the way for Solarians to begin preaching and missionizing the lands beyond the Holstein Barrier in earnest, it also had the unintentional aftermath of centralizing the Norse Pagan faith. The Jomsvikings -a mercenary group made of Norsemen that typically fought against Solarian activity beyond the Holstein Barrier (and as far south as Hamburg) formally began conquering territory while Scandinavian priests gathered together in Uppsala to formally "reform" their religion in order to be able to fight against Solarian activity. This was the groundwork for many religious conflicts between Solarians and pagans (though of which only the Norsemen and to a lesser degree the Balts had any success) that was exacerbated as many Solarians beyond the territories of Rome actually had been influenced by pagan traditions that only made their followers more sympathetic to their "long-lost brethren" the most the conflict went on. Some believe the Great Solarian Schism (or Reformation) of the 1500s is also part of this struggl.

Solarians as a common enemy? Interesting.

In the 2230s, Hilbert Silverwell tried to make an O'Neill cylinder but his project was unfinished. By the 2260s, the project continued under the supervision of Stephen Kirov. The question is, should the habitat be named after Silverwell or Kirov? This debate went on for months until they decided to call it "The Silverwell-Kirov habitat." As of today, the Silverwell-Kirov habitat is the base of operations of the 31st Expeditionary Force that almost acts like a sovereign nation.

Seems they are doing well there, nice that they could build a successful artificial habitat.

About 10% of the Mainframe's sentient population consists of artificial intelligence. The vast majority of these artificial intelligence have no mobility of their own, and are effectively prisoners within their own computer towers, instead interacting with the real world through multiple drones and other remotely controlled devices, and occasionally manifesting in virtual reality. There are also androids and uploaded consciousnesses, but because they are far more costly to produce than basic computers, there are only a few hundred thousand of each in comparison to the trillions of other AI.

Injury is not an uncommon sight in Topoliani, due in part to the very violent nature of its denizens. This was especially true during the great alcohol civil war when several people got minor or major injuries. A few civilians took it upon themselves to help the injured and formed a 'guild' called the 'healers guild'. Their status as a guild is probably just for the namesake, as they have no legal grounds to claim to be a traditional guild. Their assistance during the great alcohol civil war led to a zero death toll, saving anywhere from 50 to 200 rioters, soldiers, and civilians alike. During the civil war, they gained the name of 'Parental Muses' as they would often pretend to be the mother or father of someone as sang lullabies to calm them. This was commonly practiced on children, though adults often got a similar treatment if they were 'scared' enough.

The Healers Guild is still in operation today and has even gotten a subsidiary by Dandi after opening a small hospital in the town.

Whilst it is great to see people banding together to help others, can something really be called a civil war if it only "several" people where injured?

Occitania is one of the world's largest consumers of energy per capita, and is the world's largest producer of electricity. Occitania is the smallest emitter of carbon dioxide per capita amongst the G9 by a significant margin, largely due to its heavy investment in nuclear power. As of a 2016 review, 84% of the electricity produced by Occitania is generated by nuclear power plants, the largest share of nuclear electricity in the world. 16% of electrical production comes from renewable sources, with hydro-electric and thermal power stations producing 10% and 5%, respectively. Wind and solar power combined constitute only 1% of Occitania's total electrical production. Due to the countries heavy investment into nuclear energy, renewable energies are having difficulty taking off, although more and more households are having solar panels installed. Despite many environmentalists calling on Occitania to lessen its reliance on nuclear energy, citing environmental and safety concerns, many in Occitania instead believe nuclear energy to be the solution rather than a problem. Occitania has a spotless record when it comes to nuclear safety, and despite it being the world's largest producer of nuclear energy, it has not suffered even a single nuclear accident or disaster. Fossil fuel power stations have not been used in Occitania since 2010, when the last gas-fired power station was shut down.

How neat, the use of clean energy on such a scale is rather impressive. Question: How far off is Fusion Power for Occitania?

Arkeyanan Orbitals tend to take anywhere from 6-12 months to construct, often divided in the following stages:

Framework:
The initial phase of Construction, Crystalline Neutronium is broken down and woven into a gigameter-scale framing. This provides the supporting structure of the Orbital.

Foundation:
After the Framework is created, the next phase of construction consists of extending the framework and creating numerous base constructs, including entrances, retainer walls, Bulkhead Range foundations, and countless others.

Hull:
The Hull is the bulk of an Orbital's structure, consisting of numerous active support systems, internal and external infrastructure, and in cases where it's needed, underlying systems that mark the beginning of terraforming.

Garden:
This is the final stage of construction. Interior surfaces are terraformed, be they the primary habitat or secondary areas within the hull. Flora and Fauna are introduced, cities and houses are built, and people begin moving in.

Nuclear power isn't that dangerous. Not anymore, at least.

EDIT: Usain Bolt'ed. An orbital taking 6-12 months seems inconceivable, not to mention expensive. I guess my power level is like a subatomic particle compared to yours.

Even with Occitania's huge investment into civilian nuclear technologies, scientists estimate that a functional nuclear fusion power station is anywhere between 15 and 50 years away. In the meantime, however, those same scientists also predict that Occitania is on the very cusp of making nuclear breeder reactors commercially viable - which would dramatically cut down on Occitania's nuclear waste - although there is significant debate as to whether such technologies could ever actually be safe enough for continuous operation.

The Imperial March of Ossey became the first non-barony first-level territory to make public transport free. The first first-level territory to do so was the Free Barony of Granger. So far, three first-level baronies have free public transport.
It is applaudable that you're making public transport free. What I need to ask is if the Barony and the March are the only territories in your realm to have done so.

Damn, pretty long and brutal religious war over Denmark there

The Wastelanders
20 Years after the refugees evacuated to the bunkers, most of the people thought this will be their permanent homes but some of them didn't, a group of people led by Alonzo Martin's escaped away from the bunker, fearing that the bunkers would be used as a tool for totalitarian parties since the government and other parties also evacuated to the bunkers. All of them were equipped armors that can withstand even the frozen wasteland itself. They founded a small settlement in a pre-war millitary base, over time, they developed to become a organized militarized tribe using pre-war armory and weaponry, they expanded to a destoryed city called Santo Kruz, this would become their capital. The Wastelanders also fought a endless war beetween mutants and rebels. They collapsed 300 years later when a horde of mutants stormed through the city and the base, killing off the population.

This is literally the most shit-tier response I've ever had the displeasure of being faced with in my four years on this website, and this is despite the fact that you (who only post shit-tier responses) respond to me quite often on multiple accounts. Can you just not respond in this thread if this is the standard you're holding yourself to?

I'm not a history buff on the context of Europe, but I will try!

Quite a fascinating turn of events. First and foremost is the presence of mercenaries, which I understand that mercs exist as old as time, but it's rare to see them being mentioned in NS nations. I don't know, it's kinda a rare thing that nations rarely mention here. Also goes to show that one thing can lead to other, even if rather indirect, or they are far apart from one another in terms of nature. So overall, I quite love the fact that you showcased the example of the Butterfly Effect, whereby a conquest lead to more religious demographics (at least, the preaching and missionaries would increase the population), which in turn lead to centralisation.

I also realised that "since the site of their headquarters has never been conclusively located, confirming the tales of their exploits is somewhat difficult. The location of Jomsborg is a matter of debate in historical circles, due to the scarcity of primary sources" (Wikipedia, of course), so... does your nation has more resources on this, even if the history is a little different from OOC / RL? That is, I'm not questioning the historical accuracy, but I wondered if you can expand on this part. It will be a fascinating read! ♥

Was this the only involvement of the Jomsvikings? Were they subject to a revenge scheme even though they were soldiers-for-hire / soldiers-of-fortune? How advanced are they compared to the others?

Good plan, to be honest. Always know when to quit when you feel that something is off. I don't know, I feel really bad reading the last part because they tried their best to survive, but apocalyptic worlds are always harsh and they know no compassion. Rest in peace for those brave Wastelanders that did not bow down to possible totalitarian elements, and die trying to survive on their own.

Though I think avoiding a possible totalitarian element, only to become militarized... seems a tad ironic. Military hierarchy usually tends to be a bit totalitarian 8 out of 10 times.

Valentijn currently got a new name - Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing. The adoption of the name is both ICly and OOCly - replacing the not-too-sensible "Svitw." with another name. Also because I quite like the name and the mythology behind it, and I feel that Basilisk as a name would signify Valentijn not because of his monstrous and destructive nature, but because of the tremendous amount of damage he does to a single target if needed (his sledgehammer hurts. A lot!)

Well, that is certainly unique and distinctive to say the very least. I personally don’t get why so many names are needed but I’ll it helps you stand out from the crowd. Though "Basilisk" does sound more monstrous than anything and doesn’t exactly lead to good first impressions :p
But you do you, mate.
Sodom is classed as a unitary constitutional theocracy and devolved representative socialist democracy. The head of state is the directly elected High Shepherd, who leads a government of rabbis, diplomats, administrators and analysts on a non-party-based platform. High Shepherds are elected or re-elected every year, and electoral campaigns are financed equally by the state and held in each quarter of the city-state. During campaigns citizens can meet directly with candidates, ask questions, attend electoral public gatherings (equivalent of rallies), and overall engage with each candidate.

The current High Shepherd is John II. He’s of Afro-American descent, speaks Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, English and Greek; is 43 years old, and is childless/unwed. He’s very popular in Sodom for his Christly ways, living ascetically and humbly.
