A Letter From the President
My fellow citizens,
It is my honor to welcome you into
my home. Here, at Number 16 Yew
Street, I will be working for the next
four years alongside a team of the
most talented public servants in our
nation to craft a Fernão that works
for the many — not the few.
My Administration is proud to host
the most diverse Cabinet in all of
the history of our Republic — by
political affiliation, gender, and
race. Of Fernão's four major political
parties, three are represented in
my Cabinet and all, as well as two
regional interests, are represented
in my Administration.
I am also delighted to establish the
Executive Office of the President,
comprising a new, federal civil
service that will work from the
grassroots to the boardroom to
ensure not just prosperity, but hope
and progress across our nation.
I am honored to have been selected
to serve as your President, and I look
forward to building a Fernão where
we recognize that we are, truly,
stronger together than we are apart.

of workers worldwide. An ally of the
working class and a true friend to
the people, Vice President Kahn
has been a close colleague of
President Eliot and is an
active advisor on day-to-day
executive affairs.

A long-time member of the
community of international
service, Allison Ricardo has
served as Ambassador to the
United States in the Vishal
Vig Administration. She is a
renowned internationalist and
a devotee to the principles of
international cooperation.

Emily Ndereba (Coconut Isle)
As a top leading consultant in the
world of emerging financial
development, Emily Ndereba
has held residence at several
central banks across the globe
as a consultant on developing
an economy. Ndereba's expertise
will help bring out Cabinet in
the right direction for Fernão.

Salvador O'Hara (Beta Test)
Few have shown the thought and
calculation that Salvador O'Hara
shows in his everyday work. A
fellow of law studies at multiple
universities and a much respected
scholar of the discipline, O'Hara
brings to our Cabinet the careful
intersection of theory and practice.
Secretary of Defense
Fawzia Hussain (Maklohi Vai)
Born to refugees, Fawzi Hussain at a
young age learned the importance of
combatting threats at home and
abroad — at the same time, she
understood that wars are fought
from the ground up, within the
community. She will bring to our
Administration a strong leadership.
Secretary of Community Affairs
Ana Ernst (Roosevetania)
Senator Ana Ernst is one
of our nation's foremost advocates
for the marginalized
people of our world. With a
stated goal of fighting all
forms of injustice and oppression,
Ernst will bring to our Cabinet
the closeness we need to have
with our communities.
Secretary of Health and Labour
Alexios Viel (Tectonix)
Pegged by some as the
"progressive firebrand of Fernãoan
politics," Alexios Viel
served as a Senator and the
Administrator for his party,
the Red-Green Alliance. He's
bringing to Yew Street the kinds
of bold ideas that the people
of our nation crave the most.
Secretary of Public Works
Luen Veas (Eredion)
Luen Veas, the son of Chinese immigrants,
saw firsthand the pain and strife
of wartime conditions. A firm
believer in a charitable government,
he will bring to our Administration
the hope and motivation he brought
to troops on the battlefield, and
a hunger to do good in the world.
Advisor on Culture and Equality
Elsinore Ophelia-Eliot (New World Oceania)
At thirty–eight years old, Elsinore
Ophelia-Eliot is one of the
youngest, and yet, most
distinguished jurists on this
side of the Pacific. Known for
her work for the government
implementing the Constitution,
Ophelia-Eliot is an invaluable
member of our Administration.
Secretary of Rural Development
Peter Janzen (Soviet Canuckistan)
Humanitarian and civic servant
Peter Janzen is one of the
foremost prominent voices
in the rural politics of our
nation today. His service
in the Senate to rural Ferdinand
and his support for the
Anabaptist community show
that he's here to mean business.
Secretary of the Environment
Nisha Gadhavi (Socialist Nordia)
This young woman wowed
the nation when she rose to prominence
as Minority Leader. A dedicated public
servant and environmentalist,
Nisha Gadhavi brings to our
Cabinet both the experience
and enthusiasm we need most.

Senate confirms Cabinet
August 8, 2017Nearly all of the president's nominees for his Cabinet were confirmed today, bringing strong and stable leadership to Fernão. The First Lady will be serving as an Advisor also attending the Cabinet.
President Eliot is the first President of the Republic to boast a complete Cabinet, in addition to a fully staffed Executive Office of the President. This is another promise fulfilled, and further proof that Popular Alliance leadership is bringing the nation in the direction it needs: forward.
President releases August agenda
July 31, 2017President Eliot released his agenda for August this evening, after consulting with his advisors and a focus group of citizens. Containing such important provisions as healthcare, labour protection, and consumer rights, the agenda can be found below.

President appoints healthcare commission
July 24, 2017President Eliot appointed a Presidential Commission on Healthcare this afternoon as one of his first acts in office. In the Monday press briefing, Press Secretary Marco Roboto spoke on the Commission:
"The President considers things like this of very high value. I mean, healthcare, that's something he sees as very important. This is an administration committed to ensuring every person in our country has access to good quality healthcare, and we don't see this, you know, as a one time thing, but more of a long time project."
The Commission will meet for one week to draft federal healthcare legislation. The President has invited elected officials to provide their own thoughts for the Commission's consideration.
President and Vice President take office
July 24, 2017Vienna Eliot was invested as President of the Republic of Fernão today after his inauguration alongside Vice President Adam Kahn. Vice President Kahn took a ceremonial oath of office at 11:55pm, GST, and President Eliot took the constitutionally mandated oath of office at 12:00pm GST, assuming the presidency. He spoke for just an hour in his inaugural address. The President harkened to several great orators of history, and highlights of the speech included:
"We have been, and propose to be, more and more Fernãoan. We believe that we can best serve our own country and most successfully discharge our obligations to humanity by continuing to be openly and candidly, intensely and scrupulously, Fernãoan. If we have any heritage, it has been that. If we have any destiny, we have found it in that direction."
"Let us now join reason to faith and action to experience, to transform our unity of interest into a unity of purpose. For the hour and the day and the time are here to achieve progress without strife, to achieve change without hatred; not without difference of opinion, but without the deep and abiding divisions which have scarred our people for generations."
"With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves, and with all nations."
President Eliot and Vice President Kahn then travelled with their families to Number 16 and Number 17 Yew Street and met with prospective Cabinet members while Press Secretary Marco Roboto met personally with journalists and correspondents outside.
President-Elect and Secretary-Designate speak out on workers' rights
July 23, 2017President-Elect Eliot and Secretary-Designate of Health and Labour Alexios Viel issued a statement today on the the Industrial Scrap Workers' Union sit-in strikes in Fortaleza. The statement promised hope and change for the working people of Fernão, reading in part:
"Our administration, with the Department of Health and Labour, is fully committed to seeing real workers' rights introduced to Fernão. This administration will not sit idly by as hundreds of thousands of people go to dangerous workplaces for little pay, terminated for exercising their right to form a union."
At his inauguration tomorrow, the President-Elect is expected to dedicate his administration to several initiatives targeted at helping the workers of our nation.
Vienna Eliot elected President of Fernão
July 22, 2017Vienna Eliot was elected as President of Fernão tonight with his running mate Adam Kahn elected Vice President of Fernão. At his victory party in Mazarkhet, Ma'abara, he took the stage with Kahn, their spouses, and his campaign manager Deborah Canova to thank his supporters, saying:
"Fernão, I believe that we can seize this future together, because we are not as divided as our politics suggest. We are not as cynical as the pundits believe and we are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions. It doesn't matter whether you are black or white or European or Asian or indigenous or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, or straight or queer — in our nation, there is a place for you."
The president-elect and the vice president-elect will be sworn in on Monday.
