Ana Ernst hates the Standing Rules but doesn't like the bare-bones bill at vote. After speaking to the President, she decides getting rid of the Standing Rules is more important and caves.

"Order, the vote has come to a close. The proposed resolution has passed with eleven ayes and two nays.

We will now consider the nominees submitted by the President."

"Madam President, I see no reason to oppose any of the nominees placed before us by the President. Since we have further bills to discuss and work to be done, I move to approve the nomination of the President's appointments by unanimous consent."

"I object. We need a clearer picture of how the government's chief law enforcement officer will enforce the law before voting on Mr. O'Hara's nomination. In addition, the President should not be appointing relatives to the highest levels of government."

"The president has left much to be desired with their cabinet choices. The senate has an obligation to scrutinize these poor choices and control the executive branch more effectively."

"Madam President, seeing the objections raised by the Honourable Senators and the fact that we must begin debate over these nominees, I move to begin twenty-four hours of debate over Secretary-designate of Foreign Affairs Polly Handsom (Merizoc), Secretary-designate of Finance and Economic Development Dr. Emily Ndereba (Coconut Isle), and Attorney General-designate Salvador O'Hara (Beta Test). During this period of debate, Senators may deliberate over the nominations and ask questions of the nominees themselves."

We can consider more than three at once. That was a restriction of the repealed Standing Rules. In fact, we are already in the business of considering all of them.

"On second thought, Madam President, I withdraw my motion in favour of scrutinizing the nominees put forward by the President."

"Duly noted, Honourable Senator. As such, Madam President, I remove my motion from consideration, and I invite my colleagues to begin questioning the nominees at this time."

"This question is directed to Polly Handsom. With the recent geopolitical landscape being volatile in both Europe and the United States, how is Fernao expected to retain good relations with the west?"

Some senator, who is probably, but not definitely, Reza Kassem, or maybe even David Bloom, walks into the chamber and takes his (or her!) seat.

"Mr. President, I rise in support of all these nominees and my nomination to the Cabinet. I will fight for the communities of Fernão and the people of Ma'abara. I am open to any questions posed to me either in this Chamber or in private."

I think this was meant to be posted here.

Lykens wrote:"Seeing as debate has been exhausted, we will now begin voting on the nominees for twenty four hours."

Also, I apologize for the last minute notice. Collatis will be replacing Merizoc as my nominee for foreign secretary. Sorry for the inconvenient timing.
