2. Rule IXb shall be amended to “The Minority leader is the floor leader of the largest party or bloc which the President of the Senate is not affiliated with.

I move that Section VIII be amended to read

1. XVIi, j, k and l shall be renumbered XVIl, m, n, o respectively.
2. The second pair of Rule XVIf, g, and h shall be renumbered to XVIi, j, k respectively.

Does this mean that upon election to president of the senate, the senator must resign from their party? Isn't this a needless amendmen if so. If a President of the senate were not a member of any party, would that not make it the appointment of a majority by our rules impossible?"
