While a first reading doesn't require any seconds to start a vote, I am inclined to start the second reading of the Second Amendment to the Standing Rules. You may begin to propose amendments for the next 12 hours. However, once that is done, we will hold a vote on the first reading of the National Bureau of Elections Act and the second reading of the proposed amendment."

Amman Singh incredulously wonders why the Speaker decided to move forward with a bill that will never get a third reading.

Tired of the nonsense, he leaves the Chamber to go get some KFC.

A pair of Senatorial aides snickered in the gallery as they heard a censured Senator talk about order.

"Mr. President, I stand in complete succor to this amendment. It will better streamline the nominations process for President Krishnan, which is sorely needed to do away with this unusable and slow committee system. Really there is no actual argument against what the amendment stipulates, aside from some cheap jabs from the Civic Union calling it 'obstructionist.' I urge my fellow Senators to not fall for the trap of partisanship that has so dominantly plagued our politics, and stand in support of this amendment, as I do. Thank you."

Someone in the gallery takes an ignore cannon out of his pocket and shoots Senator Bell, suddenly making all the laughter in the room disappear into the fourth dimension.

"We're called bloody NPCs for a reason," he muttered under his breath.

"Well, deary me Mr. President, my sincerest apologies for speaking on the bill at hand. Senator Durand, of course, rightfully noted that participating on debate is, ehem, "absurd" and an impediment to the "work of this body,"" he chortled.

"I encourage the rest of my fellow honourable colleagues to join in debate, no matter how...'absurd' it is."

Mr. President, it is sad to see that yet again the chamber has devolved to partisanship and politicking from both sides. This is not what Fernoans want. What they want is a productive legislature and an efficient and we'll run government. Is that too much of a hard thing to do? Us crossbench senators are sick and tired of this pointless bickering, and there are several senators that are the root cause of this chaos. So I will second this call because this particular senator has been known for causing a lot of chaos -- Senator Bell is a disruptive influence. I would hope that he follow the example of the other senators in his party, who have only acted with decorum and respect.
