"Mr President,

The Red-Green Alliance needs to stop this partisanship and work with us so we can put Fernao back on track. We all know the Red-Green Alliance is do nothing, but these last comments from the opposition show that the Red-Green Alliance doesn't understand standing rules! Mr President, I believe that the Honorable Senator David Bloom from the Red-Green Alliance had no seconds from another Senator there his motion should be thrown in the bin. The Red-Green Alliance cannot count. The Red-Green Alliance doesn't understand rules. The Red-Green Alliance is a do nothing political force. Seconded Mr President

A janitor wonders why the former President of the Senate seconded a motion to proceed to a first reading when doing so is not remotely necessary. The janitor wonders if the former President of the Senate has even read the Standing Rules. The janitor shakes his head. The President of the Senate could go no lower.

"Mister President, an attack against an organization is clearly an attack against its members as well. In fact, when Senator Durand called on France to "reject the evils of Islam", it was Mr. Carvallo who ruled that Durand's attack was unparliamentary language, despite the statement only referring to an organization, and not specifically to individual members of the Senate. He ruled that an attack on a group constitutes an attack on all of its people. The same holds true today."

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Cristovao Matos rolled his wheelchair into the senate chamber, right as the liberals and socialists were wrapping up their bickering. He sighed at the state of politics in his nation, and moved towards his seat, examining the bill being voted on. Not tough enough, he thought. Not tough enough at all.
