Things have always been cross posted in the lobby to maximize exposure.

We don't need a bill for that.

Say, not much is said about Baltonia or Dagmar, but a good amount is said about Aurentina and Calaverde, especially the latter. Anyone know why?

Aurentina was good, Calaverde was double plus good, Dagmar was ungood and Baltonia was double plus ungood.

I once asked why the "B" incarnation was so unspoken of and apparently it just sucked so badly that no one ever wanted to talk about it.

I can't speak much for Aurentina and Baltonia, as I wasn't there, but the former is liked generally because it was so long lasting, had the highest membership (one party had upwards of 100 members at one point) and lots of RP. Baltonia was short and boring (?)

Calaverde was quite fun, lasted for a while, had good activity and amusing political maneuvering. I'm actually not of the opinion that Dagmar was super bad. What hurt it was that there was way too much personal tension between some of the members, Andthat negatively affected the iteration, and it was killed off early to start a new slate.

In the interests of transparency, it should be known that I challenged Socialist Nordania to a debate two days ago and we are currently working out the details. If anyone has ideas for format/ooc location (IRC/Forums etc.)/anything at all feel free to let them be known.

Daily Life thread

It would be rather difficult to do a debate that is supposed to happen in real time in the Daily Life thread.

Daily Life thread

If it is going to be on the forums (which is SocNord's preference) it definitely won't be in the Daily Life Thread.

I think Calaverde was proof that everything runs smoothly when a Brit is elected President.

Preferably not, either. Maybe a special thread could be made?

Well there'll probably be campaigning going on there at the same time. A debate would clutter things up and make everything confusing.

So, first of all, sorry that this is a couple days late, but not the biggest deal in the world I hope.

The Constitution says a few things about elections.

Article 126 says the following:
Article CXXVI - Election of the President
The President shall be elected in a two round first-past-the-post system held over the course of ten days.
Each round of voting shall last three (3) days, with a two (2) day period in between the rounds, and a two (2) day period before the first round to allow for registration of presidential tickets.
Presidential tickets must register with the Electoral Commission prior to the first round of voting to be included on the ballot.
During the first round of voting, voters shall vote for one ticket, with the two tickets who receive the most votes advancing to the second round. Voters will again vote for one ticket, with the recipient of the most votes being elected President.
Senatorial elections during Presidential elections shall coincide with the first round of voting.
Voters may write in candidates.

As a note, the elections amendment that was passed a procedural vote in the chamber is not law.

We have the following schedule, starting right now.

May 11: Candidate registration opens. Register yourself by stating your candidacy in the Lobby, including whether you have the support of a party. You must state whether you have a running mate as well.
May 13: Candidate registration closes. First round of voting opens. There will be a separate thread for this.
May 16: First round of voting closes. Campaigning period begins.
May 18: Campaigning period ends. Second round of voting opens. There will be a new thread for this.
May 21: Second round of voting closes. We have a President.
