For those interested, the Ionian Sea is set to win with 13 votes in the final round to the Arctic Ocean's 8. The penultimate round features the Dalmatian Coast, and the one before that has the Atlai Mountains on the ballot.

What do you mean by there's an intriguing thought process?

A European federation is a supranational government. Even if European federation were to fail, its advocates could still push for it were supranational government to be chosen. Ranking them far apart doesn't make any sense.

It does make sense. I don't think a supranational federation would work anywhere besides Europe for the sake of this RP. And while I could argue for a European federation if the more general option were to be chosen, I'd highly doubt it. So, I made the calculation that the expected returns from that option were quite low, and I didn't rank it.

It does make sense. I don't think a supranational federation would work anywhere besides Europe for the sake of this RP. The same concept here. I considered the blank supranational government proposal to be untenable in this RP, but being specific in terms of its region allowed me to at least favour it.

Since I am off work for a few weeks, and the Ionian Sea proposal is doing well, I am going to try to work on the conlang and hopefully it will be done in the next couple weeks. Of course as not to impose I'll put it to vote.

Alternatively I can make a conlang based on Dalmatian romance should it win but any other location is beyond my knowledge.

Here are the full inputs (per the tool linked immediately above) and results of the location selection:

As such, the following is passed:
Resolved: The next iteration shall take place 37.5 degrees north, 18.5 degrees east in the Ionian Sea.

On the second ballot measure, an Aye/Nay vote. Abstentions were explicitly not permitted, and so any stated abstentions were thrown out.
Resolved: The next iteration shall at least partially be hosted on a website that is not NationStates if possible; with the way that this is accomplished (for example implementing a federal/multinational system on multiple sites or just using one site), the continued hosting of at least a part of the Senate in NationStates and the site(s) itself to be determined at a later date.

Aye: 6
Nay: 14

As such, this measure fails.

We'll take the remainder of the calendar year to propose and debate resolutions on the future of our Ionian Sea nation. We recognize that there may be desire for lots of recruitment or structural changes before the iteration starts, so we won't set a hard start date. But, as a tentative deadline for the next round of resolutions, let's say January 8, two weeks from now.

Just want to comment here I believe Gstan is to low to have been part of Yugoslavia. Italy, Greece, and Albania seem to be the only realistic contenders of owning it purely by border distance.

Resolved: The nation of anything not beginning with G will be a country with a wealth level somewhat worse than Greece and with a substantial Greek population that wishes to become united with Greece. The country will also be an ex-British administered country that is part of the EU.

Resolved: The next name of the country will not start with G.
