Now that Mars was mostly the same climate as the southeastern portion of the island of Great Britain on a pleasant day, Humanity established a city there, the City of New Woking, after where the Martians first landed.

Arteriosclerosis, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Dizziness, Headache, Nausea, Varicose Veins, Death, and Skin Inflammation.

Not to mention that everything the infected sees is all red and...

They're slowly being converted into Martian Livestock. A good thing to note at this part of the story is that Martians sustain themselves via transfusing blood. This experience is both unpleasant and fatal to the individual having their blood drained to feed the Martians.

The United Human Forces, save for Cuba, which was full of Commies, realized that they had a universe inside of the mug. They got the Mug, and assembled another invasion fleet using the glitch in the Matrix from when they were counter-invading Mars, and then they used the war loot gathered from the sacking of the Martian Capital, and then the fleet was off into the weird and forbidding void of the new universe.
