The IMF, however, represents an entrenched elite, totally at odds with what any Elizian could stand for, and leaving it would not isolate us from the international community in the slightest."

"If the honourable gentleman's grasp on foreign affairs is as lacking as he has shown it to be, could I recommend he remove himself from this discussion? The IMF may be a force for bad in this world, but it is a necessary evil. He compares it to the UN and, while clearly less important than that organisation that we are all indebted to, the IMF is another essential organisation that we must join, despite his party's empty rhetoric."

"May I remind you, senator, that a number of nations have chosen to remain outside of the IMF, with few if any consequences. Unlike the UN and the World Bank, the IMF is not an essential organization for a country to take part in. I would also add that accusations of incompetence do nothing to further discussion."

They did not turn their backs on us then and we should not turn out backs on them now."

Senator Nguyễn stood up glancing at the room around him. "Gentleman, I believe that it is important to continue membership for the following rationales, to begin the International Monetary fund provides money that is useful during recessions and an outburst emergency. Not to mention the universal membership continued by nations like the United States and China. It continues to lengthen diplomacy and not understanding this is silly."

"Thank you, Hon. Member, but I noticed the first time."

The chamber breaks out into laughter.

"I must, however, direct the Hon. Member to this clause of the Provisional Governmental Establishment Act, which reads:

§12. Where Parliament on a resolution approved by at least one-half of the total number of members of Parliament resolves that the President and Ministers be removed from office on the grounds that it has no confidence in the Cabinet, an election of a President shall be held."

"By my reckoning, there are around 60 members of this fair House, and this would require 31 members if such to dissolve Parliament. However, due to unforseen circumstances (OOC: people that aren't very active - notice that there are around fifteen people active at any given moment, and yes I know these are very general assumptions) the quorum needed to dissolve government under this Act would be impossibly high to achieve."

"Furthermore, under this, it has to be in a resolution form, and not on a motion. Thus, this motion is not carried."

Muhammad, a parliamentary scribe, had not had a nice day. He had stepped in dog shit that morning. Not fun. He had also forgotten to pack lunch. Muhammad was not feeling very happy, to say the least. So when he saw that some idiot senator from a third rate party was holding up the chamber, he lost all patience. Muhammad strode up to the handcuffed senator and punched him square in the jaw, hard. He might come to regret that later but for the moment it was very satisfying.

Another parliamentary aide, Suzanne, saw Muhammad rush towards the senator, and wanting to keep him out of trouble, rushed to try to stop him. Unfortunately she tripped in her high heels as she ran, and ended up accidentally kicking the senator in the crotch, adding insult to injury.

Mohammad stood up, though he wasn't showing it he was enjoying watching the Senate fall into chaos. In full view of the Chamber, he simply picks up his suitcase and walks out the door, leaving a note on his desk simply saying "Gone on business. Will be back tomorrow."

Meanwhile, a scribe walks outside to inform three men running a shish kebab cart that it would be nice if they moved the cart away from the Parliament grounds. The men agree to do so and the scribe walks back in to collect all of Mohammad's papers from his desk.

Danh had had enough. He had suffered under the Elizian National Congress for too long. His family had suffered for too long. His people had suffered and died for too long. So he had fought to overthrow the government. He had killed many Malay. He had thought this would bring his people freedom, but instead the old oppressors had been replaced with new ones. That was why he had joined the Elizian Liberation Front, and that was why he was now running full speed into the senate chamber, past the guards who were distracted by some commotion in the chamber. He saw a senator who was handcuffed and immediately went for him. He was the weakest among them. The easiest target. He pulled out his knife and stabbed him the chest twice, before slitting the man's throat. He then turned to face the rest of Parliament, gave them the finger, and did the same to himself.
