An Introduction
Welcome to the NSG Senate. This is democracy at its worst.
In brief, we are a character-driven and dynamic government simulation roleplay where you will be a politician in the fictional nation of Elizia, where your actions and the actions of your fellow senators will shape the present and the future of the country, for the better or the worse. Will you choose to be a good and trustworthy representative or will you rise to power through backhanded maneuvers and shady deals? Will you be a crossbencher? A minister? Even a general?
Founded by Denecaep and maintained by chief admin (OP) Maklohi Vai and co-admins (co-OPs) Arkolon, Merizoc, Britanno 3, and Zurkerx, our roleplay has existed in several iterations for well over three years, and we are the non-NS political RP.
Where do I get started?
First off, there's the Senate Lobby which is our OOC thread, where we discuss about everything related to the roleplay, and sometimes even things that aren't. When needed, it also doubles as a thread where we can roleplay character interactions and other events that are RPed to occur in the legislative building's lobby. Then, there's the Coffee Shop where we propose bills for peer scrutiny and have lively debates on them. The third and arguably most important thread is the Senate Chamber, where we debate bills right before they come to a vote, and cast our ballots to decide whether a bill passes or fails. And last but not least Daily Life in Elizia, where all roleplay that does not happen in the legislative building goes, whether it be a bus ride, a television broadcast or a neo-fascist terrorist attack.

Introduction
Welcome to democracy at its worst.
Assuming you meet the minimal requirements, you will instantly be a senator. Even if you are not accepted right away, feel free to begin participating. You can then proceed to start or join a political party, and begin drafting a bill. This is the application thread to be one of us.
The NSG Senate proceeds over a government simulation in an imaginary nation. Links of the Senate are provided in the proceeding details of the Opening Post.
We, the NSG Senate Admins, will check posts in this thread as often as possible, but we will also check telegrams far more often - that will be your better luck in terms of applications.
You can find out whether you are an official senator or an official party by checking the Senate records below. The next section afterwards will have all of the necessary applications. Because what would politics be without paperwork?

All OOC conversations (matters not regarding applications) should be held in the lobby.
NOTE FOR SENATE APPLICANTS WHO WILL CHOOSE THEIR POLITICAL PARTY:
PLEASE Post on their Party HQ threads right after posting your application in this thread by clicking on their coloured names at the list. In your post, tell them that you chose that party or just greet them as a new member.
It is highly important for the party leaders, especially the NSG Senate Admins, to know who their new members are.

Being a Senator only requires that you have been a NationStates Forum member for at least two weeks and that you do not have an excessive or concerning ban history. You may only have one Senator in the RP at a time.

Political Party Application Form
To start an official political party, you must be a Senator, have a chairman, brief platform, and ten registered Senate members including the chairman. If you form a party with less than ten members, you will be considered unofficial for the moment until you reach ten members. Then, you can submit your party application in this thread.

All normal NS rules remain in force
Warning Levels
Green- Level 1, equivalent to one warning
Blue- Level 2, equivalent to two warnings
Yellow- Level 3, denoting 1-3 days of suspension time total
Orange- Level 4, denoting 4+ days of suspension time total, and also denoting that the next offence will likely result in a ban
Black- banned from Senate
Further points:
-After being suspended once, each subsequent infraction results in more suspensions (not necessarily of more time), not further warnings.
-Posting past suspension results in an automatic upgrade to the next level of delinquency
-Warning levels can decrease over time:
-From Green to None: 2 weeks
-From Blue to Green: 3 weeks
-From Yellow to Blue: 5 weeks
-From Orange to Yellow: 6 weeks
-From Black to Orange: Admin discretion after 8 weeks
