Desmond saw him walk in, and his cheeks reddened upon hearing him mention how the outfits are "too hot". Clearly something inappropriate was going through the Englishman's mind.

Tsengsi sits down across from him, and sighs. "Fan me, Aurelian."

With a slightly annoyed look Aurelian pulls a hand fan out of his pocket and starts fanning the noble off. "Of course, sir."

Yes, that was the one with the Danes and such," she said in between sips of the cider. "I do love reading. But, I think, old spell tomes and alchemy articles are the most interesting to peruse through."

"Reading's my main hobby as well. Something to do on the train or in the carriage..." She purses her lips, and thumbs through her pockets, digging around until she finds a small book titled 'Ahl Cuhltian Magicks of the Epic Era', and slides it across the table towards Gwen. "That's one of my favorite reads. Lots of information on old, outdated spells that don't really impress nowadays, but it's fun to learn about how magic was first utilized."

Gwen looked at the book in awe. Arthur caught sight of the small book, and his eyes widened. He nearly choked on his rum, as he abruptly sat up from his slouching position. "Wh-wha? Is that a little magic tome?!" Arthur, with a look of bewilderment and surprise, leaned in close to Celeste. "You.... Do you actually perform magic?"

"Whoa", breathed Gwen, picking up the book. It was obviously quite aged, the pages having a slight yellow tint to them. Nonetheless it was still very intriguing. Gwen flipped through it, a wide grin on her face.

Celeste took another swig of her drink while the two looked over the book. "I do as a secondary hobby, though I'm getting better at it. Mostly use it for creating light or lighting candles as a party trick. People from outside of Tinell always go wild for it."

Throughout the pages, many stories were told. Theories on the creation of magic ranging from it being a gift from the gods to a secret passed down from primitive shamans that became widespread. As the pages flip through illustrations of spells and historical uses are shown, from an Arkadacian priestess virtually disintegrating herself to save the lives of the dead and dying on the battlefield to a massive, blinding ball of white light that, judging by proportion, seems to cover an area the size of a small city, simply titled 'Star Crash'. No recipes are given for the latter, as it's considered a spell of utmost secrecy.

Aurelian seems slightly more annoyed now, and looks off at the window.

"Wonderful. Went hunting with the emperor today, caught ourselves a fine deer, and drank some wine. Though he's a bit of a pushover. Far too nice to be leading an empire, if you ask me."

"I don't think the drinks are that awful. Not as good as some fancy noble's wine but it's far from bad."

Arthur observed her, amazed. He smiled. "That's... Brilliant. I didn't know you did magic." He ran a hand through his shoulder-length hair and cleared his throat. "I'm a seasoned mage, myself. Gwen here has known magic since she was a child," he explained. Gwen just smiled at Celeste shyly, nodding in confirmation. "She's still learning to hone her skills, but I think it's fair to say she possesses immense talent. She can perform European forms of magic, but she was raised up on Iroquois spells. Ah, North American magic is... Beautiful, to say the least," he sighed. "The style is quite different from conventional magic."
