"That's time calling us!
And time only goes forward!
Through the years and centuries,
Through all generations,
The People have become ready
for the final fight!

Remember,
nothing is more powerful than the truth!
The truth leads us to the right direction.
The Communist Party - our party together,
together until the end,
when we achieve victory!

It all depends on us,
the hour has come
when the whirlwind of history
is going in circles
and we do the right thing
and become comrades and friends.

And the Motherland calls:
"Communists, forward!"
as the spirit of freedom strengthens us.
On the Siberian winds, let's set sail
to a new life in Soviet Russia!

Strong, proud is the Red Banner!
With the memory of heroes, our fathers,
we were able to win the battles and trials.
Their faith and truth
are preserved, in spite of shackles.

Feel free to break all your barriers.
Break free, so that our flame will never die!
And our reward will be a better life.
This is destiny - our one chance!

It all depends on us,
the hour has come
when the whirlwind of history
is going in circles
and we do the right thing
and become comrades and friends.

And the Motherland calls:
"Communists, forward!"
as the spirit of freedom strengthens us.
On the Siberian winds, let's set sail
to a new life in Soviet Russia!

It all depends on us,
the hour has come
when the whirlwind of history
is going in circles
and we do the right thing
and become comrades and friends.

And Ligachev calls:
"Communists, forward!"
as the spirit of freedom strengthens us.
On the Siberian winds, let's set sail
to a new life in Soviet Russia!

On the Siberian winds, let's set sail
to a new life in Soviet Russia!
"
-Song written by an unknown student to commemorate the Yegor Ligachev and the 500 students who stormed the Kremlin and overthrew Mikhail Gorbachev in 1988

" The original assessment on the failure of Col. José Zorilla and his cavalry regiment was that the rolling-block rifles were too little to suppress the charging enemies and that his formation was too dispersed on the designated chockepoint. He apparently ordered the injured to mount and retreat if they could, and it appeared many considered themselves injured as half of the surviving men retreated without any organization. A wounded José himself made a disorderly retreat several minutes later and the majority of his guard fell, along with the remaining half of the company under his direct command. Further enemy attacks on the combined Army force were hampered by the artillery of Col. Nuñez.

José and his failure was later blamed on his aggressive nature and his desire to deny the enemy a retreat by positioning his sparse units on the exit of a valley hosting the enemy camp; the day before denying Col. Nuñez' offers of reinforcements on the basis that they and the artillery would slow down the cavalry and allow the mobile elf warriors to escape. Furthermore his native translator counted only 'elves' and not 'goblins' nearby, the latter of which were apparently disposed to aid the former, so Col. Zorilla underestimated what he was facing and attacked at midnight. His subordinates in charge which were to push the encampment into disarray and supply the choke-point. The units he chose brushed with the reinforcing goblins on the hills which proceeded to encircle the hills around the valley under the same cover of night that Zorilla planned to use. The supply line of Captain Ovando was placed in disarray. All Army forces failed to fulfill their objectives. His own daughter, Second Lieutenant Magda Zorilla Nagi, was among the scouts who barely escaped. Magda's account was that she was too concerned with the retreating injured to contribute to properly relaying information at first, though she changed her accounts and admitted to faltering after the translator's brains were splattered all over her face by a magically charged arrow. In either case, it was her forces that retreated first and alerted Col. Nuñez and his mountain guns; which later proved vital in discouraging the horde's attacks in the following day. "

"You don't hear a whole lot about it, but the Empire did survive a military coup at one point. And I saw the whole thing. I was younger then - it was June of 2130. Shortly after Edwin died. Replaced with one of Emperor Stark's yes-men. Ephriam Abramson. In the words of seasoned military men, a 'desk-jockey, who had no business sitting in the same seat as his two great predecessors - Orwell and Edwin'. Some elements of the military didn't like it one bit. Many officers had already grown tired after Stark's neglect following his 'vanity project' in the Canal War."

"He was a young officer, who raised the ranks quicker than anyone since Orwell. Marshal Mortimer Lowell. A Vanguard by trade, ambitious schemer by hobby. He discreetly shipped thousands of loyal troops, among them several tank companies, to New Rome. They acted quickly and mercilessly, cutting down the Urban Cohort and keeping the civilians in-check. Lowell and his elite cabal of Rangers set it off from within the Imperial Tower itself, after convincing the stewards of a 'surprise conference'. It went well."

"And if it weren't for the Black Guard, they probably would have succeeded. "

"Twenty Black Guardsmen shot or cut down nearly a thousand rebel military personnel with a brutal efficiency I could only describe as 'inhuman'. Rangers are not to be toyed with. They are capable of taking down anything short of a Chthonian. But that didn't stop that Black Guard, who I witnessed gut one of them like a pig to the slaughter. Lowell himself was killed pretty quickly; one of the Guardsmen seemed to teleport
right in front of him, impaling cleanly through the rat's stomach with his...or her, fancy glowing wristblade."

"And the Black Guard held the troops off, single-handedly, not losing one of their own until the combined forces of Major Harrigan, Admiral Norveau, and Colonel Hill could arrive to mop up."

"Yeah, you don't hear a whole lot about it in the books. What could have been the defining moment of a century instead turned into a historical footnote, all thanks to the mysterious protectors in black armor..."

-Yara Brisby, former Media Adviser for Emperor Stark, on her witnessing of the failed New Roman Coup of 2130

"With the mass production of military drones and increasingly easy to produce WMDs, war between Septarchs is, while indeed frequent, not an immense distraction for the populace. Most of the time it will just be a race to see who can hack who's command programming first while robots fire missiles at each other in a fairly deterministic stalemate. Total war is democratic war, the wars of the Septarchs better resemble the chessboard wars of the ancien regime."

"Mamdouh Mahallati-Al-Bin led his band of followers into the jungle, claiming Allah would 'protect them from the infidel landscape.' I wish I were making that shit up. He didn't, in any case, and instead of a huge fight we just held back, kept our distance, and watched most of them die without having to so much as fire a bullet."
