PRESS RELEASE

The prime minister shall hold the office of prime minister for duration of two months unless it is otherwise rendered vacant, in which case vice prime minister shall be appointed by the president to serve as acting prime minister for remainder of the term

I am acting Prime Minister under GEA S1c

d. Acting prime minister shall unless otherwise noted shall have same powers, qualifications and responsibilities as that carried by the prime minister for such time that they are holding office of prime minister.

I have the same powers of a Prime Minsiter under GEA S1d. There are no contrary provisions to the following effect.

f. The president shall summon and dissolve the legislature upon advice of the prime minister.

I shall dissolve the legislature under GEA S2f, which is my advice to the President.

b. ..Such individual shall, once appointed, be presumed to have the confidence of the parliament unless proven otherwise through a vote of confidence which may be extraordinarily called for by any member of the parliament notwithstanding relevant procedures for normal votes of confidence. Should all efforts to find a qualifying qualified individual prove to be in futility to the president's judgement, the president may take the extraordinary step to dissolve the legislature and hold new legislative elections.

A vote of no confidence has occurred. I submit that firstly: the next government will not be able to command a majority of the parliament, if they are to be appointed. Any other exercise will be futile -- the parliament has firstly allowed the election of this government, and now has given it no confidence within a month. Therefore, it is futile to even try, with the volatility of the parliament, because it can and WILL be kicked out when parliament reconvenes. Secondly, any new government will require a mandate. This mandate will be supplied with an election, so it is in the public interest to do so. This is the evidence of my advice to the President

I hereby call an election for the Parliament of Calaverde to resolve the deadlock.

I submit myself as a Prime Minister candidate, or will give my support to another party's candidate. The election should be held under the Elections Act.

After getting legal advice, and after seizing control illegitimately, I resign as the ruler of Calaverde.

I would like to thank the temporary ministry that I have set up in these telling times.

And I should also state what I was going to do. I appointed nearly everyone I knew into the cabinet. Don't think for one reason that I did this for fun. This was a cold and calculating plan from the beginning. You see, before it was pointed out to me that I could not infact be the Prime Minister of Calaverde, and that I took this power illegitimately in a desperate move to be in government, I had planned to use the GEA to use this provision:

c. Caretaker council of ministers and prime minister shall collectively be referred to as caretaker government and their functions shall be to continue and maintain ordinary matters of national administration. Except in extraordinary circumstances, such government shall not make any major policy or financial changes without consultation and agreement from primary opposition parties.

With my cabinet comprised of all of the independent and representatives and leaders from all of the parties, there would be no opposition. I would then pass any laws that I would like, including one that would allow us to stay in power for just a little longer. Oh well. Now, I must fly to an unknown nation via my private jet with my family and personal secretary and children. We always knew this would happen. We were waiting for the right time. That time has sailed.

You should note, that you shouldn't even try to find me. I will go to a nation (OOC: Nepal) which does not have an extradition treaty with Calaverde. My long-lost cousin is there, and we will be there, together. I would like to apologise to the now care-taker government for trying to seize control. I would like to apologise the former PM for trying to take your power, and trying to do a coup. I apologise most of all to my family, where we have to jet off yet again, after just moving here five years ago from the UK.

I prided myself in integrity, but I was greedy. But let this be clear -- I have tried my hardest to be one of the most honest parliamentarians in this government. I have always been friendly. I have never cheated, nor would I ever do such a thing. My constituents, I have failed you. I have told the FDP to seek a new member for the constituency, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, and vote on the next candidate based on your feelings for them, and without ill-will from me.

Well. I'm temporarily Calaverde's most important person, so there's that. Though I suppose you will never have the opportunity to be like me.... being important and all. Also, Mexico had a president who lasted 45 minutes.

I can't think of a government that would back your gun bill. Anyway, this is only a temporary cabinet.
