We used to have lots of crabs at our coasts, then we found out that the sea is huge, wich means we can dump huge amounts of toxic waste in it.
Suddenly all the crabs were gone, aswell as all the fish, whales and that swimmers club.

It was once believed that the spine is the seat of the soul. This fact has led many technognostics to use precise spinal nails to adjust the soul and remove undesirable habits such as nail biting, feminism, drapetomania, scheduled human combustion and dreadlocks. In the olden days, one technognostic named Dr. Arbitrary came up with the idea that precise spinal calibration could allow individuals to speak with the dead. After many spines were launched into parts unknown by miscalibration, success was achieved. However, the entity summoned was a gestalt being formed from forgotten travesties that tore Dr. Arbitrary asunder. 50 arbitrary measurements of time later, his son Dr. Time was beset by divine inspiration and went about completing his father's legacy. After many attempts, the spine of his target lifted out of the body and dragged the skull up to meet the gaze of the doctor. It claimed to be his father, Dr. Arbitrary, then deployed a tongue-like probostic towards Dr. Time as he cried tears of joy. The skull and spine of the doctor and the test subject vanished shortly after.
