-Every adult performs military service from ages 18-21
-Citizens may only eat what the Party gives them
-Jobs are assigned by lottery system
-At 06:30, everybody gets up to do mandatory group exercises
-At 20:00, electricity is cut off in all the districts
-The Happy Patrol conducts raids for contraband and materials inconducive to hard work
-Entire families of 'problem' citizens are disappeared
-Public whipping and execution are for minor crimes
-Uncle Happy is a self-sufficient artificial island; trade sanctions don't make a scratch
-We have nuclear subs, so think again about 'liberating' us
-Party members are above most laws
-So are foreigners and tourists
