Our national animal is a large, highly carnivorous spider. They're so aggressive there's an entire company of the military dedicated to keeping these things out of the cities.
A far future nation of robotic citizens, born from the ashes of the fallen Ark Ship, that is under constant siege from the elements, crazed machines, and unrelenting aliens. Tech level is a mix of late Cold War, not-too-distant future, and weird reality defying technology.

In Skyhooked you can loiter as long as you like, while drinking a bottle of rum and smoking weed in front on a Sheriff or gendarme. And nothing will happen to you.
Skyhooked is MT/PMT with a few FT elements. Military is factbook only. NS stats are mostly non canon.

Modern Akiranese are most attracted to people around their same level of social status or higher. This drives immense status competition on every front. The wealthiest neighborhoods in the big cities produce a staggering amount of economic value in response, while much of the countryside remains less developed.

People who go into the animation industry inevitably mentally degrade to depressed, on-the-verge-of-insanity (if not already madder than a mack) pseudo-philosophers as their work turn from shitty spy stories and political rivalry into grim, suicide-inducing, largely otherwise incomprehensible "things".

People in our nation's Creativity sector are totally insane, as in, they create crazy, surrealistic, mind screwing artwork just because they can....and most of them are based on events which really happened in real life!

Nexumian art, albeit stemming from a traditionally Eastern purview, still maintains a plethora of Abrahamic religious and mass-structural influences, such as massive murals and carvings etched into craters, mountains, and plains across Nexumian space depicting Fuharii stories and canon.

Although human animatronic taxidermy is a rare practice in New Pyrrhius, it's still frequent enough that corporations often screen their own employees in the event that one of them was turned into a cyborg sleeper agent by a rival megacorp.

As local corporations control some sectors of Law and Order, new technologies have sprung up in the last 5 years (the current year is 2025 in Emperyo), such as using robotic technology especially for espionage (Yup, cyborg sleeper agents are stationed in Fascist Britannia and Legionary U.S.)

Chinese border troops are placed before the proper ground forces in terms of equipment issue priority. This became well-known when the first batch of new-generation counter-battery systems made completely in China-UFR was first delivered to the border troops instead of the ground forces.

A legend goes around that extreme efforts are gone through during presidential elections, where presidents are directly elected by the people through nationwide plebiscite, to sabotage the votes through methods such as destroying vehicles that transport votes of regions that support some candidates. This was never real, of course.

Dedicated 'counter-demonstration' teams organized purely by citizens regularly disperse demonstrations that block traffic, often by force. When interviewed on their motives, most just answered "we don't like attention-seekers who obstruct other people's daily routines".

The worst of treasonous criminals are still subject to the death penalty even though it was technically removed in 2002. They are subject to 'popular law' where 'the people decides their outcome', essentially equivalent to lynching, allowing anyone to douse petrol on them and set them alight after beating them up and disfiguring them. Separatist leaders have become frequently subject to this (and are more than often lynched by the very people they claim to be 'campaigning for freedom'; this was shown in 2007 when an Uyghur islamist was burnt to death by his supposed compatriots). Often, to spare them the suffering, the condemned are shot in the head by gendarmerie guards on watch shortly after the lynching begins.

Emperyo supports the Martial Law imposed not by Ferdinand Marcos, but by former Punong Erin Terten of Asigna. Authoritarianism is not immediately frowned upon as other Western countries would, instead pragmatism and the existing culture around that nation is viewed first before an opinion concerning the effectiveness of such a policy is given by Empyrians.

Voleka has rubbish infrastructure management, possessing few to no cities of its own creation. The vast majority of population centers in Voleka were integrated or conquered (back when conquest was acceptable), so they all have differing levels of efficiency, technology, density, and so on. Attempts to infuse a location with the best the Reclamation has to offer is rare at best, and unheard of at worst. The only consistently shared advancements across the entire Reclamation are medicine, augments, and interstellar travel.
