OOC: I spent a few minutes googling agricultural summits and this is what I found!

Minister Sebastian van Oldenbarnevelt left a brief letter at the Prime Minister's office.
Dear Prime Minister,

I write to you in order to request the government's authorisation to represent the Republic of Calaverde at the International Conference of Agricultural and Environment for Sustainable Development in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, from the 25th to the 27th May 2015. The summit is meant to discuss and reveal the latest advancements in the field of sustainable development. As his portfolio falls into this category, the Minister of Science, Michael Joseph Giuliani, is free to attend the conference if he deems it appropriate. Fortunately, I will not require the State's funds despite the fact that I would be representing Calaverde in an official position; I intend to recur to my own (private) funds to finance the trip.

Please contact me if you have any concerns.

Sincerely,
Sebastian van Oldenbarnevelt
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs & Member of Parliament,
Republic of Calaverde

The website is also very useful to plan trips abroad and diplomatic gaffes!

I am interested in going, and I will consider it.

OOC: After the Cabinet reshuffling, I may no longer be Minister of Science, so I'll wait until that.

Why have I not been removed from my position by now!? Anyway, I left for a significant amount of time for reasons I myself don't even understand, but as soon as I logged back in and saw that telegram from Lykens, I decided I'd been gone long enough. So I'm back.

''If the government has any concerns regarding the host-country and its ability to safe-guard the convention the Calaverdean delegation could always attend the Agri Innovation 2015: Emerging Science and Technologies in Crop Research summit in London on 22 April 2015. Perhaps the Minister of Science, Mr Giuliani, would prefer that venue.''

No one runs the chair force at the current time.
