Javier Escuella walked into the chamber for the first time.

"I like the colors." he remarked. Brown had always been a favorite of his. Taking a seat, he began participating in debate.

Our French population is a tiny minority, Calaverde is dominated by Spaniards and, to a lesser extent, Dutch, and as such it would be illogical to join an organization for primarily French nations.

Calaverde has a Francophone population of around 15-20% and considering the Francophonie includes nations with much smaller proportions of French-speakers, why should we not join?

With all due respect Senator, I, as well as several other members of this body, represent majority francophone areas and I would not call the French language a "tiny minority." In fact, in my constituency of Chabert and Fourchette, French is almost universally the first language.

It seems I was misinformed on just how many francophones inhabit our nation. I apologize to our French speaking citizens and Senators. Rookie mistake, eh?

OOC: Last I checked, it was 60% Spanish, 20% Dutch, 10-15% English and 5-10% French. If not, I guess the Dutch are a smaller minority than I thought they were.

The Dutch are actually supposed the be the smallest. The order is supposed to be Spanish, English, French, Dutch, Portuguese.

What? That can't be right. Why would they be the smallest when they have a whole island to themselves?

The numbers were determined before any of that occurred. I would suggest we change the demographics to fit what has been RPed though.

Makes sense. This doesn't belong in the chamber probably, but Spanish, Dutch, English and French sounds good to me, English and French can be switched around if it pleases the Francophones.

Well then I don't see why we're giving them so much representation.

They're a whole island apart. Calaverde Dutch can be Adrian, but not all Calaverde Dutch are Adrians.

Eugenia Malgrave waltzed into the room carrying a large tray or sausages with both meat and non-meat alternatives on the tray, as the smell of the freshly cooked sausages spread across the chamber she began to walk around the room offering everyone in the room a dog dog.

"A wiener for Senator Johnson?" Eugenia said a hint of satisfaction in her voice.
