What is the point of an accurate census if it is not mandatory to participate in it?

"Your interpretation of 'civic duty' is dangerously akin to coercion."

"Using force to harvest data is not something to advocate. We are ignoring peoples' right to hold information to themselves, if they so wish to and if they have not broken the law. Lowering the maximum fine to something less degrading than $1,000 is the only sensible course of action in remedying the underlying issue of this bill. Not to mention that many of the topics of investigation cannot be guaranteed accurate, and the government has little ability to decipher the truth for those who may be dishonest."

I will also second this, as well as let it be known that this is a friendly amendment.
