Senator Aarón Ortiz condemns the abortion bill.

"Not only does this bill legalize murder, but it has ridiculous restrictions on free speech- a 66 foot barrier around so-called 'clinics'? People should be allowed to talk others out of immoral acts- if it becomes violent and repetitive towards an individual, it's harassment, which is already a crime. If it's on 'clinic' property, then it could possibly defined as trespassing. If it is telling someone about the consequences of killing another, it should be legal. Otherwise it is an unnecessary restriction on free speech."

"Forgive me, Senator, but I rather think you know little about the people you keep as company. I had a cousin who had to go in for an abortion. The doctors said that the pregnancy would kill her. So she and her husband, both good people, both good Catholics, made the heavy decision to go to an abortion clinic to terminate the pregnancy. She was yelled at, called a murderer, a whore, and was told she should be ashamed of herself. The people you surround yourself with shamed a woman who needed this procedure. How dare you speak so highly of those people who would shame women when they must already make a horrible decision to terminate the fetus inside of them? Their tactics are harassment that cannot be dealt with without a buffer zone. You and your ilk disgust me, Senator Ortiz," shouted back Senator Cristobal Araullo.

"The barriers, Senator, are not restrictions on speech. They are a matter of public safety, to prevent anti-abortion activists from harassing and psychologically degrading the women who need these abortions for personal or health-related reasons. They do not need to hear heart-wrenching moral condemnation just as they need to use abortion services. These people can make anti-abortion speeches elsewhere or over Internet or mass communications. Let's be completely fair on this. And on the matter of killing another, Senator we have a right over our own bodies. We don't force people to donate organs to blood to save lives, we don't force people to be linked to another person, substances and bodily fluids supporting that person's life, without a right to disconnect. We are allowed to evict people from our homes even if there is a possibility of the person dying from exposure, and the uterus is the property of the woman. So let's not exaggerate or make false parallels on an issue which, at its heart, is about reproductive freedom, dignity and bodily sovereignty."

Never. I can't finish it. I'm just being a place holder until the detectives arrive. I'm just in charge of the police in the vicinity so they can start to preserve the scene and gather statements but it's up the the investigation branch of the police to do all the crime scene recording etc.

"Senator Araullo, regardless of what the circumstances are, individuals have the right to express their opinion to other individuals, even if others consider that opinion to be offensive or hurtful. I am sorry for your cousin's loss, but you must remember that the vast majority of protesters protest peacefully- handing out pamphlets, providing offers of help or aid for new mothers, praying, and generally not doing anything wrong. Again, I send by regards to your cousin. Abortions for the purpose of preventing likely death should be allowed, and it is a horrible thing to happen. Just please consider the impact of this ridiculously broad bill on free speech- it sets the precedent that government can restrict speech in certain areas, just like 'free speech zones' in universities," replies Senator Ortiz.

Isn't the Minister of Justice (Ainin) supposed to officially appoint the prosecutor, public defender, and national public advocate, plus the President appoint judges and the like? And then the Minister of the Interior conduct investigations?

On that note, do we have a legal system or are funds for the courthouse being diverted to some city councilman's campaign for Soil and Water Conservation Board?

Although official debate on the Right to Choose Act has ended, I must point out that the 24-week point of "fetal viability" is in fact only the arrival of a fifty-fifty chance the fetus could survive outside the womb. It is not until the 34th week that survival outside the womb is all but assured. Are we really comfortable with limiting the bodily sovereignty of a woman on the basis of a fifty-fifty chance?

What we should do is flip a coin. Heads we call an abortion after then murder and throw her in prison, tails we allow the abortion. Sounds like a plan.
