SJG's vote is invalid, as it is a minute late. The results are as follows:

NWO: 11
Brit: 10
Blank: 1
Total: 22

Because first past the post voting requires a plurality, not a majority, NWO's proposal wins. Here it is:

  • January 11, 1903 - The eighteenth general election diminishes the Socialist Labour Party, leaving them with 21 seats. The Centrist Union, too, takes a major hit, winning only 7 seats. The Raven Party secures a slim plurality of 40 seats, and 30 go to the New Pagan Party in an election with unprecedented turnout in rural northern regions.
  • December 22, 1903 - The Socialist Labour Party splits, over support for the Bolsheviks, into the Revolutionary Socialist Party, which takes 17 seats, and the Socialist Worker's Party, which takes 4 seats.
  • August 17, 1905 - A major fire ravages the capital, burning down the parliament building during Chancellor's questions. 54 members are lost and presumed dead, including the Chancellor.
  • February 2, 1906 - June 18, 1907 - Attempts to organize a special election fall flat, and the same goes for the nineteenth general election. The 44-member legislature, mostly composed of New Pagans, declines to pass any meaningful reform and merely provides to keep the country functioning until June, 1907 when, having no sovereign to submit a resignation to, they declare the separation of Austurmark, the eastern and northern region of Dagmar, from the state, and promptly exit the building.
  • June 20, 1907 - Thoroughly unsure of what to do, the 17 remaining members of the Storting invite Swedish aristocrats from what's left of Dagmar to reinstitute the monarchy.
  • August 12, 1907 - After two months of deliberation on how to reinstitute the monarchy, the aristocrats give up and go home. Revenue ceases to be collected by the state and the only remaining vestige of the central government is the national mail service.
  • August 17, 1907 - The national mail service closes down.
  • August 17, 1907 - July 28, 1914 - The former remnants of Dagmar split apart and form their own states: monarchies in Dagrarland, Dagerbard, Durinn, and Varland, and a parliamentary republic in Austurmark.
  • July 28, 1914 - November 11, 1918 - All of the states remain neutral in the First World War. For a brief time in 1917, Austurmark considers invading Varland, but the idea is never carried out.
  • September 31, 1939 - The Second World War begins. All of the states declare their neutrality.
  • February 3, 1940 - Allied Forces occupy the states to prevent them from falling into German hands throughout the War.
  • June 11, 1944 - Austurmark ends its policy of neutrality and declares war on Nazi Germany. This causes tensions in the northernmost regions, whose populaces by-and-large prefer to remain neutral.
  • September 2, 1945 - The Second World War ends. The governments of Varland and Austurmark agree to begin negotiations on unification.
  • October 24, 1945 - Austurmark is a founding member of the United Nations.
  • November 18, 1945 - Dagerbard joins the talks. Dagrarland and Durinn start their own talks. Constituents in the northern regions of Austurmark remain opposed to unification.
  • December 1, 1945 - February 16, 1946 - The Dagrarland-Durinn talks and Austurmark-Dagerbard-Varland talks combine. In February 1946 they arrive at an agreement to unify the countries through a confederation.
  • March 3, 1946 - The Dagmari Confederation joins the United Nations General Assembly and ratifies the North Atlantic Treaty.
  • September 30, 1952 - The states of Dragay and Várifriki split from Austurmark after continued disagreement with the other delegates from Austurmark. Both become largely-decentralized parliamentary republics. Dragay remains in the Confederation, but Várifriki leaves. Raven and Pagan support in Confederation polls drop slightly as a result.
  • January 12, 1952 - January 16, 1952 - The first fair elections to the Confederation's Senate are held. The Social Democratic Party wins 24 seats, the Revolutionary Socialists 17 seats, the Ravens (soon to be the Conservatives) 3 seats, the New Pagan Party 13 seats, and the Socialist Worker's Party 3 seats.
  • May 3, 1956 - The SDP government introduces free healthcare across the Confederation, much to the dismay of Dragay delegates.
  • January 13, 1959 - January 14, 1959 - After a collapse of the economy, the SDP wins only 1 seat, the Conservatives 31 seats, the RSP 20 seats, the NPP 11 seats, and the SWP 7 seats.
  • October 15, 1962 - The Senate votes to refuse NATO the storage of nuclear weapons in Varland and Austurmark.
  • December 17, 1965 - As one of its last acts in power, the Conservative Government pushes through a withdrawal of the Confederation from NATO.
  • January 12, 1966 - January 16, 1966 - Confederation elections give the SDP 28 seats, the Conservatives 15 seats, the RSP 6 seats, the NPP 3 seats, the SWP 3 seats, and the new Centre-Bloc 3 seats. The SDP and the Centre-Bloc form a coalition to govern.
  • July 7, 1971 - Chancellor Frederik Vai is shot in the chest outside a cafe in the capital. He dies later that night. The assassination is linked to anti-confederation movements.
  • January 14, 1972 - January 16, 1972 - SDP-CB coalition crumbles due to infighting. In Confederation elections, RSP wins 17 seats, SWP wins 13 seats, Conservatives win 13 seats, SDP wins 12 seats, CB wins 3 seats, and NPP wins 2 seats.
  • January 11, 1979 - January 13, 1979 - In Confederation elections, Conservatives win 28 seats, SDP wins 13, RSP wins 9, SWP wins 4, CB wins 4, and NPP wins 2.
  • February, 1979 - Dagmar joins the EEC as the economy enters a Golden Age.
  • June, 1980 - A crisis begins within the Conservative Party between the mainstream social conservatives and the centre-rightists. The centrists split off from the Conservatives and form the Golden Civics, taking 16 seats. The Conservatives rename themselves the Right Party.
  • December 2, 1980 - Attacks by anti-confederation terrorists leave 229 dead.
  • January 3, 1981 - The SDP coalitions with Centre Bloc again.
  • March 26, 1982 - More attacks occur in the capital, leaving 43 dead. The SDP drops in polls.
  • February 11, 1983 - The Centre Bloc leaves the SDP and aligns with the Golden Civics. Together, they begin to crack down on terrorism.
  • May 17, 1985 - The New Pagan Party votes to disband. A couple members stay behind and found the Pagan Party.
  • January 9, 1986 - January 18, 1986 - Vowing to combat terrorism, the SDP wins 24 seats in the Confederation elections. The Golden Civics win 12 seats, the Centre Bloc wins 4 seats, the RSP wins 6 seats, the SWP wins 4 seats, the Right Party wins 7 seats, and the Pagan Party win 3 seats.
  • February, 1986 - August, 1990 - Counterterrorism operations led with bipartisan support oversee leaders of the terrorists killed and the organization crippled.
  • September 4, 1990 - The official Northern Separatists surrender their campaign and accept defeat. Várifriki is found to have been funding the terrorists and is forced to join the Confederation. Three Dragay Senators are arrested on charge of treason for sending money to the terrorists.
  • 1991 - 1993 Pagan churches see an influx in members, cause unknown. Dagmar provides funds to European states to further their cause in the Gulf. A stable age of peace and prosperity occurs in Dagmar. Political reforms give each nation 14 seats instead of 10 and all states but Varland adopt proportional voting systems.
  • January 15, 1993 - January 16, 1993 - Confederation elections are friendly to the SDP, giving them 36 seats. The Golden Civics win 20 seats, the RSP 14 seats, the Pagans 12 seats, the Right Party 8 seats, the SWP 6 seats, and the Centre Bloc 2 seats.
  • November 1, 1993 - Dagmar declines to join the European Union when it succeeds the EEC. Rightist parties begin to climb in polls as a result.
  • May 3, 1996 - Ludvik Aminev founds the Lofoten Affairs Council, a single-issue party focused on regain control of the Lofoten islands. It unifies the far-right, and eventually becomes an official party focused on more than its original single-issue platform.
  • January 12, 2000 - January 16, 2000 - Dagmar celebrates new year with stock market crash and Confederation elections. Right Party wins 29 seats, and SDP wins 26 seats and coalitions with CB, which wins 4 seats. RSP wins 17 seats Golden Civics win 12 seats, Pagans win 9, SWP wins a dismal 1 seat.
  • January 12, 2007 - January 16, 2007 - In Confederation elections, SDP wins 26 seats, RSP wins 25 seats, Golden Civics win 20, SWP wins 11, Centre Bloc wins 10 seats, Right Party wins 5 seats, and National Revivalists win 1.
  • 2008 - Recession obliterates economy beyond all recognition. Dagmar makes like Greece would have without the Euro. Ideas of unification begin floating around, especially among Christians and monarchists.
  • January 12, 2014 - January 16, 2014 - As unification has become an increasingly popular ideal in the wake of a still devastated economy, what many recognize to be the final Confederation elections lead to the RSP with 17 seats, the Golden Civics with 16 seats, the SWP with 16 seats, the Right Party with 16 seats, the Nationalist Revivalists with 11 seats, the Centre Bloc with 10 seats, the Pagans with 6 seats, the Viking Party with 5 seats, and 3 others.
  • November 16, 2015 - After more than two decades of separation, a convention is called in [capital], Varland to discuss provisions for a single, unified Dagmar.

The Chamber will be up shortly, as well as a new lobby and possibly other things I'm forgetting.

Here are the three new threads I just opened:

Applications: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=361300
Lobby: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=361298
Chamber: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=361301

I've asked for an archive of the Calaverde versions of the first two. Oh, and one more thing:

Ladies and gentlemen, I declare Dagmar officially open for business!

So we start before we unify? Cool, but how exactly would that work? A simple bill through the senate?

That was four days ago, I'd say they've agreed and that's why the chamber is up now.

We'd wait for the GEA to affirm that.
