Why should we recognize them? We're a small country in the Caribbean, not like our recognition will haul much weight.

Well, should we acknowledge the obvious or should we stick our heads in the ground and act like a five year old in a playground?

Just saw this.

What benefits would we receive from giving recognition to these states?

You do know Kurds are not nearly as ''liberal'' as we are made to think by our media, right?

Obviously they are not in the ranks of western democracies but they have shown themselves as a democratic establishment and solace much more tolerant of ethnic and religious minorities. They have also show several times thought it's history that it deserves the independence it's has fought for and has done so since the 1970's.

So rather than work towards solving domestic issues that need our immediate attention, we should meddle in international politics that have nothing to do with us to not appear petty and selfish?

So tourism is more important than righting wide spread poverty and unemployment, to feign politeness, fellow Senator?

Esteban García Fernández de Montijo y Palafox-Portocarrero - Liberal Democrats
Image

Account Name: of the Quendi
Occupation: Senator
Party Position(s): Member
Positions in Government: None
Constituency: <Montijoville and Santa María>
Political Ideology: Social liberal, radical centrist
Family: Ana María de Silva y Trueba (wife, m. 1989), five children
Background: Esteban García Fernández de Montijo y Palafox-Portocarrero was born in 1963 to Don Esteban de Montijo the elder, a plantation owner and politician of both Spanish and French noble descent and his wife, socialite and aristocrat Eugénie de Palafox-Portocarrero on the Montijo family plantation in <Montijoville>. His father died in 2007 but his mother is still alive.

Born to privilege Esteban grew up partially on the family plantation and partially in the family second home in the capital city bilingual in both french and spanish. From a young age he attended an exclusively private jesuit primary school later attending a jesuit boarding school that in addition to providing him with a world class education instilled in him conservative and deeply religious values.

Unlike his conservative father Esteban de Montijo the Younger was however never much supportive of the military junta and after taking a masters degree in economics from the University of Paris he turned towards liberalism and began writing newspaper articles critical of the military junta and calling for democratic reforms.

After the fall of the military junta de Montijo was elected to the senate as a Liberal Democrat.
Faith: Roman Catholic
Likes: French cuisine and wine, classical music, history
Dislikes: Spiders

  • Why did you become a Liberal Democrat? - To me the Liberal Democratic party is the party of moderation and sensibility in our country based upon the values of freedom and equality for all. Though I belong to the more right leaning faction of the LDP to me this party is the only guarantee for a stable and effective government of Calaverde.
  • Senator your name has been frequently mentioned as a possible cabinet member in a future LDP-DL government. Which ministry is your dream ministry? - Very tricky question. Let me just start by saying that I would be honored to serve my country in whatever position a future LDP prime minister deem me fit for. That said if it was entirely up to myself I would want to serve as Minister of the Interior as I feel strongly about the work of that ministry. Alternatively I suspect I would make an able minister of employment.

LOS DIABLOS - GANG
Image

Account Name: Los Diablos De Calaverde, Utopian Islands
Objective: Selling drugs and guns, extortion, killing people, etc.
Political Affiliations:
Sen. Miguel Velasquez (rumored)

Location: All throughout Calaverde.
Size: 4,000
Typical Uniform/Attire: Typically dressed in black and gold. Members wear bandanas and some have the gang's logo tattooed on their arms.
Background: Los Diablos began as a rebel group in 2007, as the Calaverdean Junta had seized power. It started as an organization to fight the Junta: targeting powerful leaders, supplying rebels with guns, but quickly morphed into something a bit more sinister. Rico Delgado, the unofficial leader of Los Diablos, was having trouble coming up with the payments for all the arms they were trafficking. So Los Diablos took to the streets of Calaverde, selling cocaine, marijuana, and LSD. Their biggest cash cow, however, was anabolic steroids, which they introduced to the country's athletes for the first time. They received them from America, due to Rico Delgado's special connection to a certain ex-baseball player with political pull in Calaverde. After the Junta had been overthrown and a democratic government instituted, Los Diablos devolved into chaos. They began functioning as a typical street gang, killing people for the thrill of it, robbing mom and pop shops, and all that wonderful stuff. They are willing to kill anybody, steal anything, and smuggle anything, if the price is right. And if it involves the white folk over on the island of Adrius, they may just do it for free.
Supports: Whatever's best for business.
Does not Support: Calaverdean Junta, white supremacy, Adrius.
Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • That's funny.
