You have got that backwards, 105 nations have no enforced conscription while nineteen further have no (or very limited) armed forces at all. Nations such as Russia, China and Iran are prominent in their conscription and I would argue these aren't nations we wish to emulate.

Use your critical thinking skills. The definition of violent crime in Britain is different to the definition of violent crime in America. Britain counts far more crimes as violent crimes so of course the rate would be higher.

That's all good and well, but when you are surrounded by nations that have an ample black market supply of weaponry and active narco/militant groups; it makes less and less sense to ban carrying in public. If we ban it here all you are doing is moving the market for guns to other countries and into the hands of black market dealers.
