I thin I'd prefer something more along the lines of:

The Worker's Alliance recognizes the intrinsic value of all living being and is dedicated to preserving the natural world. When there is need for the use of natural resources, the Worker's Alliance is committed to conservation and sustainable management such that it benefits all Placeholderstanis.

That sounds good. Still vague, but more direct.

Yeah, I was a bit shaky on the wording there. I like it.

I'm pretty sure Boji's actually a traditional Marxist. Though the thing's over a year old so I could be wrong.

Hello, there! Your friendly neighbourhood left-leaning independent here, with a message that ‘Workers Alliance’ or ‘Workers' Alliance’ (‘Alliance of Workers’) might be more grammatically correct than the current ‘Worker's Alliance’ (‘Alliance of Worker’. Just one.)

EDIT: Similar occurrences of ‘worker's’ also appear in the party platform.

Eco-socialism certainly but anarcho-primitivism not so much.

Yeah, an-prims are almost always on the left, but we're too obscure to be considered a major part of it.

We haven't really discussed it, but my own position is that it is not the government's place to regulate comments of belief, regardless of how despicable. Incitements to violence or threats however represent a clear and present danger to the public and should be criminalized. In other words, hate speech should be protected and incitements not.

So, it's 5-2 in favor of council-written platforms. I'll wait a few more hours for everyone to vote.

Writing the basic alliance tenets. Just vague statements that tie us together. Glasgia's seem pretty good, but we want to add something about environmentalism. I think we should take out the part about nationalization, and just say something vague about workers controlling their labor.

Here's my proposal, including what we've been talking about before. It's Glasgia's first points, edited and added to.

1) We do not support violent revolution. However, we strongly believe a social and economic revolution is necessary to create an egalitarian nation.
2) We strive to remove profit motives in the economy and allow for worker cooperation rather than vicious competition, to allow democratic management of the economy by the workers.
3) We support a social “safety net” and strict regulation of business in order to protect the worker and those who cannot work from harm in a Capitalist economy and during the transition away from Capitalism
4) We support social ownership of public necessities and providing them to all, free of cost, or at as little cost as possible
5) We support global co-operation and free trade, in order to ensure advantages from the global market for workers internationally
6) We recognize the intrinsic value of all living being and are dedicated to preserving the natural world. When there is need for the use of natural resources, we are committed to conservation and sustainable management such that it benefits all Placeholderstanis.
7) We uphold Separation of Church and State, both Freedom of and Freedom From Religion. The Government is not a place for religious dogma, and religious liberty should be protected equally for all belief or lack of belief.
8 ) We fight for equality for all people, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. We support LGBT+ Rights, Feminism and all forms of gender egalitarianism.
9) We do not support unnecessary interference in the personal lives of the people and oppose arbitrary enforcement of “morality” in favor of social freedoms.

I'd probably talk about fair trade instead of free trade, as well as something about the need to democratize the economy (it would obviously be quite vague.)

Hmm, maybe we should clarify what we mean by free trade. Free trade in a fair market would be a better way of putting it I think.

I'd remove points seven and eight, as they're covered to some extent by nine - Though perhaps we could make that wider to ensure they're taken properly into account.

I though the whole ensuring advantages part implied we only supported "fair" trade - ie. trade that benefits the workers.

We wanted them specifically mentioned, to make a strong stance on those issues. How about this:

"We do not support unnecessary interference in the personal lives of the people and oppose arbitrary enforcement of “morality” in favor of social freedoms, and stand for equal liberty for all individuals, including Freedom of and from Religion, LGBT+ Rights and Gender Equality"

As for the free trade...Yeah, that makes sense too. I really like either wording, I don't think it's bad either way.

I think they're fine being separate. We want to emphasize these two points, and fitting them into clause 9 just feels awkward.
