Indeed. Not many people can drive in snow in areas that don't get much. When I get home I think I might start me a snow-day taxi service.

It takes 25 cm (8-10 inches overnight) and over to have a snow day here. A 'Snowmeggedon' in Ontario requires 45-60 cm and over.

Maybe 2 inches (plus ice) was enough to make a normally 5 minute drive into a hour long adventure here a year or so back. I did just fine with it despite no prior snow/ice driving experience, but I learned from watching everyone else's mistakes and just went slowly, avoided abrupt motion, and left plenty of space between me and the idiot in front of me who kept hitting the gas too hard and sliding backwards. LA drivers- most of us suck at driving in adverse weather

Ah.. to put it in perspective, it has snowed at my house all of once in upwards of 30 years (February 1989) ... so actually getting winter tires is a bit... excessive.
