"The very driving purpose of a business enterprise is to generate a profit for the owners and a salary for the workers. Any business which cannot do these things is a failure."

"People are not equal, and we do ourselves a severe disservice when we pretend otherwise. People are born into different households, to different parents and in different communities. They have interests in different fields and different ideas of happiness. Some are born stronger, faster, more intelligent, better looking, or more charismatic than others. The equality the Constitution grants is simply equality of every Citizen before the law. It is not a guarantee of total sameness in society."

-- Dr. Malcolm Pope, Chairman, U.S. Federalist Party.

"I am not saying that might makes right; I am demonstrating strength, that is all. I am not fearful of any opposition, I have always followed by own ethics and convictions strongly. If men are weak it is because they have been made weak by their environment, not because they have been born weak, and we take it as our duty to let them become strong again.

Different peoples to their own kind, I suppose, but I shall never understand this irrational ultra-individualism of yours. Perhaps it is because you are not human biologically, or because of the massive cultural differences; but humankind is inherently a social animal in its biology. The well-being of society is in harmony with the well-being of individuals - not recognizing that either of these is important to cater for will result in eventual collapse, whether you focus on society too much or on the solitary individual too much.

Do not take me for a radical collectivist."

"Excuse me, what? I am worth considerably more than that, thank you very much. As of now my approximate worth is estimated at in excess of three hundred million dollars, which is still just a little fraction of the immense fortune my company has generated, most of which goes right back into the economy, as it should. I feel no shame about my personal finances, but if you're using it like a weapon against me for political reasons, at least get the numbers right when you do it."

The best part about them? They are extremely easy to make, extremely fast to produce, and extremely efficient in killing.

They are, to a Frenkish, Ardavian, or Mechanocratic soldier armed with only a knife, or even a high-veolicty rifle for God's sake, their worst nightmare. Not even counting the explosion they can produce."

"I don't really try and compare who has a 'more dangerous' job. The cities have a ton of people, and the city boys have to deal with terrorists, people who break from being stuck in the rat race, head-hunting psychopaths- I deal with the occasional slaver gang and the nastiness out in the Wilderness, but it's a much nicer pace. I go entire days without seeing anyone else. It's kind of nice. My Nation does NOT reflect my actual political views.
Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with few strong convictions.

Selection of quotes from the Conservative Party convention in 1939.

The duty of mankind is to transcend nature, not to remain confined by ‘this law of nature’ and ‘that principal of conservation’... It is not within the stock of mankind to alter himself to fit nature, but to alter nature to serve himself; this is already evident... we do not move into groves in the summer and climb into caves in the winter, but cause windows to be opened and fires to be built. We physically change the temperature around us but not move to find a suitable temperate environment... We constitute the only race to have this unique gift.

The more gifted have a duty to the less, but all people are equally gifted. This is possible because gifts are aspectual and limited in scope. In the prehistoric society, the strong have a duty to defend the weak; the wealthy have a duty to clothe and feed the poor; the audacious have a duty to lead the meek, and the meek to follow the audacious. This is the radix of human supremacy amongst the animal races.

The human being represents the perfect form of being in the world. That the perfection be preserved, we must never consciously alter our stock, for it must lead us to falter from our perfection...

It is the intention of our creator that we continue the names of our progenitors, therefore we must procreate. It is against the will of the divinity for the state to bar procreation. It is furthermore demonstrated as ideal that two people who love each other procreate, for only thus will the child receive the blessings of childhood under a complete family, the most sacred institution of the world...

Because life is created by the divine, it is divine; likewise the state is mundane. How can ever a mundane entity come before a divine one? Life must always take precedence over the state. If the dissolution of a state can save a human life, then that state must be dissolved… Of course, all of us strive to assist the state in its various enterprises, but ultimately the raison d’être of the state is to serve the individual, not the other way around. Let it be absolutely clear that humans have created states to serve themselves.

It follows therefore that states must never offend the divine. Human life is one such item… Since we, the people of Themiclesia have come to realize this, we have ceased altogether the practise of killing, even in warfare. We realize that killing an enemy combatant only advances the interest of the state, and the state is second to life. We profess moral superiority over all other nations because of this our conviction.

The strong acquire strength. The powerful possess the strength to relinquish strength to be at peace and equilibrium with the world and reposes his confidence in the simple rectitude of humanity.

A leader leads. A good leader educates until he is not needed.

A good general leads his army to victory in battle. A better general leads his army to victory without battle. Two better generals lead their armies to joint victory without battle: they resolve their differences wisely so that neither leaves with a frown.

A soldier who saves a friend is a hero. A soldier who saves an enemy soldier is a sage.

What use is strength? It creates inequities.

It degrades the human race to be nationalistic, for a nationalist benefits the part and diminishes the whole.

We refuse to use weapons that our opponents do not have. It makes us evil and them injured, neither of which is desirable in our path to sagehood. Let us advance so that we shall all be richer, not that some become poorer and some others still poorer.

Utopia may indeed never be achievable, but I say that an incher closer to it is still better by an inch. Let us all move by such an inch.

Cultures are often characterized by the era in which they form. Bronze age cultures are more peaceful than those of the iron age, for iron is more plentiful and superior in weaponry, thus enabling more to become armed and those so armed to be doing greater damage. The people of Themiclesia are so peaceful because our culture originated in the Neolithic period, in which killing a human being is quite difficult. We are conditioned to avoid it because of its difficulty, and let us preserve our conditionment that way.
