"Yes, there is a big block to marketing and selling things. Eh, I am no expert...but...but...the main challenge with any Japanese...or East Asian pitching anything, eee, say a pop idop group...uhh...well, Las Palmeras, it does't believe in purity. Ancestral sin makes it impossible in humans and though many Palmerans are irreligious, this doesn't change their angle. Being human is equal to being mistrusting and deserving always a degree of mistrust and doubt. And...and...eh, I don't know. Who believes in Shinto anymore? I don't know much of anything about it...But purity and naturalism are always around and concepts like that, there's no shame in human nature...I guess. But purity is related to perfection, something that also doesn't exist in things here because there's always imperfection in humanity.

You mean to say we're prudish? Is that why the viewer ratings and criticisms were too harsh on that concert in the expo? The bubbly girls in skimpy-flashy clothing and pigtails? *laughing*

Ehhh...no. Not from what I've seen, people don't really associate sexuality with iniquity or shame all the time, and that's universal I guess, a varying limit or something...I don't know much, I'm no expert. If anything people use imperfection as an excuse to...

Is your private life seeping though here? *laughing*

A...ehhe...heh...But there's a division between the human and the inhuman here. And a lot of things in some sale pitches would seem too false to a Palmeran viewer. Perfect people are too boring I guess. Or they end up looking unnatural and unnerving. *clapping*"

-Tsuneko Zorilla in a TV interview

"Hey! That's a stereotype! We never used Malleus Maleficarum as a guideline, the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition in New Andalusia forbade it...we had our own guideline and only less than 12 people were burned for witchcraft under those guidelines...But we lost count of how many people were tried for heresy and sentenced to more menial things and fees."
-A tour guide

The Judeo-Christian core dogma of 'Do to others what you want them to do to you' and 'turning the other cheek,' implies submissive morality and perpetuation of vengeful discord.

Instead of permitting potential vengeful action or irrational submission to violence via such a dogma, consider this rule, 'Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful,' where the negative is emphasized. The consequence of violence is more violence, and as such, the rule of the Abrahamic faiths is much too open ended and permissive of violence, as well as subjecting one to endless self oppression.

―Scribbling

Ask one not for what they earn or what they identify as or what they do on their free time, that is not of importance to you. So long as what they do does no harm to you, they pose no threat and rather should be embraced for what they are. It is important to understand that the fellow layperson is in the end a layperson, and while they can fulfill their responsibility as a member of the saṅgha, they would have difficulty in accepting the complete dhamma. This is not to say that they shouldn't accept the dhamma, rather, the greater society where the layperson operates in would prove to be an obstacle in such a task.

Society still operates in a manner where a self is required for communication. Society requires one to have possessions, allegiances, and attachments. These are processes that are simply the way they are. As it were, one should not just attempt to understand the dhamma, but also understand how the dhamma functions in society, an environment of necessary illusions.

"Can you believe that before the bombs went off, the Army only had ten divisions kept at full strength for combat? That they let The Enemy walk freely in our streets, among our children? Now we have one hundred divisions and more, and The Enemy sits where he belongs. With our boots on his throat."

~ Jeffrey Washburn, Federal Citizen.

"Everytime I hear of protests in Berlin about the unification of Germany, I always kindly remind the West Germans that our offer of them merging with the East to create a united German Democratic Republic is always open."
-General Secretary Garry Kasparov

"I firmly believe that Yegor is worse than Stalin. Stalin may have formed the Warsaw Pact and made these nations satellites, there was still hope that one day freedom could come. What Yegor Ligachev did was far more sinister. He... he broke the spirit of every man, woman and Child from East Berlin to Vladivostok when it came to the hopes of freedom. What we have today are broken people who stir in the melancholy of their hopeless situation, or we have the new generation, which seems to have developed widespread Stockholm Syndrome and seem to love and support Soviet rule."

"Most people I know call it the Long War, the struggle against the Great Enemy who so arrogantly sought our destruction. Some call it the Great Crusade, though I'd chalk that up to melodrama, a human desire to put a romantic sheen onto something which is actually quite simple. Me? I call it pest control."

" I was in charge of skinning the rabbits, they were supposedly dead. Most were but all of a sudden this one starts jumping around making horrendous noises very loudly, leaving blood stains everywhere near-skinned...far worse than that fish video. Ever since when my coworkers bring back rabbits they make sure their necks are snapped. And I chop off the heads just in case.
...
After the rabbit is skinned and cleaned and chopped up, I place it with some fermented fruit and bread liquids and add lots of flour to make it thicker...some salt and black pepper, the Kerguelen cabbages and the mushrooms and you get a mostly locally-grown dish. Nobody has complained about it and they shouldn't, I'm the best cook around in this part of the world."

Now is a time of discovery and innovation, yet we so readily discard our own abilities. We have never been faced with the decisions our youth will have to make in their fast-approaching future, so I say to all of mankind, now is the time to learn. We must not be complacent when preparing for the future. Our youth must learn from their elders, as has been the way for millennia. Without a basic foundation of knowledge instilled by the parents, the child will be more prone to throwing away their potential and taking a path which will not prepare the child for the challenges that lie ahead.

- The opening paragraph of a popular book written by Dr. Jan Doornweerd, a noteworthy scholar from Sibbesborg.
