So after studying the activity of the forum bots (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) for ten minutes, I have deduced that:

1. Exabot spends a lot of time on the Index, but sometimes trawls General
2. Google goes all over the place, but mostly spends time in General often looking at new and old threads, including TET
3. Bing is almost the same as Google except spends less time in General and spends more time in the same places
4. Yahoo spends a lot of time on the same part of the forums, changing on average two minutes.
5. Google Adsense doesn't stay in one place, and can actually be seen as "posting" in forums in International Incidents, as I observed.
6. Baidu (a "spider") spends almost all of its time in the Index but did make on quick trawl of International Incidents.

After looking at these observations, I can conclude that some of these bots are made to "spy" on certain parts of the forums and provide information back to their respective headquarters.

EDIT: I did another study of the forum bots' activity exactly almost one hour from my previous research and for the same amount of time (10 minutes), and this is what I found:

1. Exabot was the same as last time, but never made a visit to the Index.
2. Google went all over the forums but never made a visit to General or TET.
3. Bing spent 80% of it's time on the Index, with quick visits to General and Factbooks & National Information.
4. Yahoo's behavior was different, as it went through other parts of the forum quickly, most of it's time was spent in Diplomacy.
5. Google Adsense was the same as last time I observed it. Same actions such as searching and "posting" on the forums.
6. Baidu again spent most of its time on the Index, but made a pit stop in Technical.
7. Google Feedfetcher was a new bot I observed that only appeared once within the ten minute span, sitting in the Index.

After this observation, I have concluded that the forum bots' active seems to vary, as I'm suspecting it may change depending on the time. I have also deduced that Google Adsense is the most intelligent out of the forum bots, visiting different parts of the forum on an average of two minutes, sometimes staying in the same place for a short time and sometimes seen "posting" and searching the forums, commonly near the 9's.

Further research into Baidu revealed that it is a bot from the Chinese search engine of the same name, which may explain it's heavy inactivity due to the little publicity and interactivity of NationStates in China.

Research into Google Feedfetcher showed that it is used to retrieve RSS and Atom feeds. I figured that this bot only sat on the Index page because it was getting RSS feeds from the 'Latest Forum Topics'.

Don't ask me why I did this.

Us Southeast Asian folk need to find ways to keep the rest of the world interested in us, which is why we do these things. It's hard to market yourself when China, Korea, and Japan are so close by.
