Sound engineering, however, is a field that is not exactly crying out for new graduates, especially not in Australia. The USA has most of the opportunities in that field, and is likely to for the next decade or so, although India is a growing market in film, news, and the 'fifth estate' style vloggers and gaming networks.

I'm under the impression that the sheer number of experienced technical hands that exist in the USA are plenty to deal with the various aspects of sound system maintenance that may come up, and here in Australia there aren't many systems that require anyone more skilled than an experienced theatrical soundcrafter. And my theatrical background is lacking, to say the least.

not what i am talking about. hospitals, subway stations, public buildings, airports, shopping malls, require intellegible sound systmes for public address annoucements, emergency notifications, and the like. federal and local requirements require liceenced sound engineers to design and sign off on these systems. to get it right the work is quiet delicate and is a form of engineering in its own right.
